Something Moore

I have a wonderful friend who, in the past year or so, has taken up rowing. I've always thought this looked like an interesting sport and I've been completely mesmerized with her participation. In fact, once this crazy thing called law school is done I plan to take up the sport.

So the other day I was talking to her and she mentioned a regatta being held this weekend. I asked her if she was going to race, to which she replied that she didn't qualify. We didn't really get into that because I figured she has only been rowing for about a year so it wasn't too surprising that she didn't qualify.

Then this past weekend I had a seminar which was hosted at the boathouse. A very nice lady who manages the place spoke to us and mentioned the upcoming regatta. What she mentioned, that may friend failed to point out, is that the teams racing are Olympic qualifiers and that the regatta is essentially a preview of Beijing 08.

So yeah, my friend didn't qualify but only because she's not an Olympian!!! Silly girl!
