Misty's comment made me think of a link to a blog Ellen showed me here. At least Baxter and Maggie handled the move better than these folk's dogs did.

Baxter and Maggie
After my last post Misty commented that it looked like Baxter and Maggie were posing for the pictures. Honestly they've been following us around since we've moved not quite sure when we are going "home", but absolutely POSITIVE they don't want to be left behind. They haven't quite figured out that the new place is home. They are slowly settling in but it wasn't a totally smooth adjustment.

Finally - the new Dwyer abode
So sometimes you do get what you ask for (Rebecca) and I am finally posting pics of the new house. As you may recall I was in the middle of taking pics of the house when my camera met an untimely demise. Lucky for me (and you) Santa knew what I needed for Christmas and a new camera was delivered on Christmas morning.
At first I wasn't sure I wanted to post pics right away. Clay and I have about a zillion things we want to do with the house. Number one is painting the walls and I don't want to hang any art until the walls are painted. Consequently the house feels unfinished. But I decided that posting pictures at this stage will provide a good base line so we can see all of the improvements we will make over the next several months. So look for more updates :)!
And without further ado here is the new house...

View from the front door

My office (which is also the sun room with TONS of natural light)
Family room / theater room (we have BIG plans for this space)
Laundry room (with my new washing machine courtesy of the old one breaking during the move)
1/2 bath
Master Bedroom
Master Bath
Guest Bedroom
Spare bedroom (yes the walls are lime green)
Hall bath

We also have big plans for the yard. We have 3/4 of an acre which we plan to have trees planted, a patio and deck installed, and build a shop. Lots of things planned. I promise to be better about updates as we go along. And if you're in the OKC area come by and visit. We have TONS of space (and we can always use an extra hand with a project or two :))!

Please don't give up on me
I have intended to blog about the new house for several weeks now. We are moved in and getting settled. Moving during the holiday season isn't the easiest thing in the world. It seems every day we are pulled to one event or another. So today I was finally going to take some pics and blog. But then tragedy struck (literally). I dropped my camera and now it's broke don't work. Sad :(. So please don't give up on me. I will get pics of the house and and update on our lives very soon. I promise!

Big News
No... It's not what you're thinking.
We are selling our house! We've been contemplating this choice for a while now and it just felt like the right time (bad economy and all). We have a found a place we really like so we will see what happens. So if you know anyone looking to buy a house in the Moore area send them our way!
Here is the link to the house listing. So everyone needs to be thinking positive "selling" thoughts about the house. If anyone has questions about the house let me know!

Head of the Oklahoma
This weekend was the Head of the Oklahoma. It started Friday night with the corporate regatta night sprints. The corporate boats are 8 man sweep boats. To say the corporate regatta didn't go well is an understatement. It all ended with one spectacular crab and several bruised egos. But we had a lot of fun this season!
Chesapeake's uprOAR!
Saturday and Sunday I raced in the Master's portion of the regatta. I was part of a mixed quad, a women's quad, and a single.
My mixed masters quad finished 13th with a time of 19:23 (18:41 after our age handicap).
Me, Jim, Kim, and Ray

For my single I finished second and won a silver with a time of 23:52 (no I didn't get an age handicap, but I should have!).

My women's quad was a lot of fun! We did so great! We finished 5th and beat our personal best by about a minute. Our final time was 18:22 with a handicap at 17:59.
Finally Clay took a picture of me rowing a single that I do believe is the coolest picture I have of myself. Even if it wasn't a picture of me I would love this shot!

Canadian Family Time
We met up with Clay's sister's family in Door County Wisconsin a couple of weeks ago. If you've never been to Door County, it's a great vacation destination. Lots of outdoor fun, haunted buildings, hiking, and wineries! Very much our kind of vacation. Here's a few pics...
A quick round of golf.

A nice family bike ride!

Playground time!!

Some family shots.
Ice Cream!

Beach time and a historic haunted light house.

On our way home Clay and I made a quick stop at Lambeau Field. This really put me in the football spirit. While Clay is the Packer fan (I'm just the bandwagon fan) I would recommend the Lambeau field tour to anyone who is a football fan. It was a really great experience.

Part of the tour takes you through the tunnel that the Packers run through to the field. This is the sign they pass on the way out.

Work Life Balance
I love my job! I know a lot of folks can't say that about their job, but I really do love what I do. While I travel some for work I'm not required to travel a lot which is a nice balance. It means I get out of the office often enough to keep it fresh and interesting without being burdensome. This past week I was sent to PA and NY with a couple of coworkers to check out some of our eastern facilities. We had a few hours to kill before our flight so we decided to check out the Finger Lakes area of NY. It was amazing! If you ever have a chance you must go. In fact I would love to go back and spend a week there. In our short time all we got to do was have lunch and do a quick hike to a waterfall in the area. I took some pics of the waterfall hike. They do NOT do it justice, but I thought I'd share.

I loved this step waterfall because it looked like something that an architect would put in the lobby of a modern hotel or something, but it was all natural! God is a pretty good architect!
The waterfalls fell into these amazingly deep pools which were crystal clear. I'm sure they were at least 50-60 feet deep.
Unfortunately my point-n-click couldn't do the area justice but it was a nice way to cap off a a work trip.

A Few of My Favorite People
I am so blessed to have made wonderful friends in undergrad who I still call my dear friends today. A couple of weekends ago we had our annual get together. This year was a bit different from previous years. Sarah gave birth to her second baby, Kole, a few months ago and Shelley is pregnant with her second (a baby boy who is yet to be named) and is due in September. So we had to try hard and squeeze in a visit between the births of both babies since it's so hard to travel with a newborn and Shelley wouldn't be able to travel after a certain point. Keeping this in mind we decided, at the last minute, to meet at Sarah's house and spend a short (very short) day together.

Here's Arwen and Kase giving me their best smiles. You can see Kole in the background wondering what in the world is going on!
The Smiths! Unfortunately we were rushed taking pictures and I wasn't thinking about lighting... so this is what I got.
The Ecks! Gotta love that goofy girl's smile.
My girls! What amazing friends you are :)

While our visit was WAY too short I was thankful just to get to see them this year.
Love ya girls!
