Playing with Fire (literally).....

I was not going to post this video as it is not the safest thing to do with my son. However I was begged and pleaded to post it. I hope everyone enjoys the video. And don't hate me for letting him do this. (all for you J & B)

Oh Kai-onie.....

This boy would NOT sleep in his own bed. Ever since we moved him out of the crib (so Kamden could have it) to a big bed he has been sleeping with us. He was always my baby that LOVED being in his own bed. I finally cracked the whip and started locking our door when we would go to sleep so he couldn't come in our bed in the middle of the night. That way I knew when he would wake up so I could take him back to his bed. So he would fall asleep on the couch. We would then move him to his bed. Well now instead of coming in our bed because our door is locked he goes to Riley's bed. It was a good effort on my part. Maybe someday he will sleep in his own bed. As for now I'm just glad he's out of our bed.

Maybe she won't notice.....

This is how Kamden comes down the stairs every morning. He's hiding his minnie (binkie) in hopes that I will forget to take it and put it on his shelf. (he's only allowed to have it at nap and bedtime.) Silly Boy.

A little slow....

This year for Thanksgiving we had my three brothers that live here and their families over. Along with Justin's mom and brother. We had a very laid back fun day.

Here is Jeff washing the turkey.

Justin frying the turkey.

Uncle Brian playing baseball with all the kids.
Kamden got the ball.
All the kids did a little craft while they were waiting for the turkey to cook. They each made an "I am thankful book."
I'm glad everyone here was able to make it. If was a fun Thanksgiving.

A good ol' surprise......

My parents celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary in Sept. and both turned 65 in Nov. I knew I wanted to do something big and fun for them. I don't think there is anything they like more than when they can get all their kids together in the same place at the same time. It's been a couple for years since we have all been able to be together. There are 9 of us so it's quit a task.

About six weeks before there birthdays I called all my siblings and asked if they would all be willing to come here (for the ones out of state) and meet at a restaurant to surprise my parents. All were in so then the fun began. Two of my sisters and my youngest brother all drove down together on Thursday and got here Friday about 3 am. Then my brother Eric just happened to have to come down for a work function and brought my other sister who had just moved up there weeks before. We met up with him before he got to my parents to pick her up so they wouldn't know.

Eric and his wife told my parents they wanted to take them out to dinner when they got here. We were all waiting for them at Bucca di Beppo. My mom says to Eric as they walked in "Man Kevin would sure be jealous if he knew we were here." It was soo much fun to all be together and I'm so glad all the siblings and a few spouses were able to make it!!

Here is everyone ready to snap some pictures as they walked in.

What is going on??
Oh! Everyone is here!!
Here we all are waiting for our dinner.
Blowing out their birthday candelabra.Kevin was excited to have some of that cake:) (love ya Kev!!)

Here is all of us outside the restaurant.
Theresa, Ron, Kevin, Natalie, Melanie, Dad, Mom, Me, Jeff, Eric and Scott!
For those of you who have wanted to see everyone in my family here or some of them. We are missing 9 spouses and 23 grand kids.
I had my three sisters and my youngest brother stay with me before they headed home EARLY Monday morning. We had such a blast all being together! Kevin might have been a little shocked with the girl talked but we loved having him here!!

Kai's Muscles......

Trying to get Kai to eat is quite the task. Until recently when the gastroenterologist (?) told me not to do to much coaxing as it will have the opposite effect. She told me in all her years of practice she's never seen a kids stave himself to death although we do need to continue to work on get to the bottom of the problem. Anyways, I told him if he want to get big muscles like daddy then he has to eat. Now he is very into showing us his muscles after every bite of food he eats. So on Monday we were at Carson's baseball practice and after his snack he needed to take his shirt off and show us how much bigger his muscles got from eating some chex mix.

Kamden of course then had to show me his as well.
Then after snapping picture of the little boys Riley wanted me to take a picture of her so Kai says "come on Riley take off your shirt and show mom your muscles"as you can see she thought that was pretty funny and totally embarrassing since the people around us heard what Kai had said. He just didn't understand why she wasn't going for that.

Riley's singing workshop

Riley did a singing workshop with a group of kids from our ward. She was a little more into acting than singing. But still cute.

Halloween

My brother had his annual Halloween party. The kids had lots of fun playing with cousins, dressing up, eating yummy food and checking out the cool fire barrel Uncle Scotty made.

Klara, Zoe, & Riley
One very tired Buzz...I don't think we had even left the driveway yet.
Kam is hopped up on goofballs.

Dead tree

This tree has been dead since we moved into this house. With all the other yard work that needed to be done we just got to cutting it down. We borrowed my brothers chainsaw but could never get it to work. We decided to try and cut it down with a hand saw (I would not recommend this method)

Justin is done! (this sucks!!)

Thankfully when I was taking my kids to a birthday party shortly after this I ask a guy in our ward if he had a chainsaw. He just happened to have one in the back of his truck and headed over and had it down in about 5 minutes!! Can't get luckier than that. I'm so glad that tree is gone. We kind of. If anyone needs any fire wood I know a good place to get some.

Sea World

So our Sea World trip goes along with the beach pictures I posted a few posts ago. I figure before I do anymore blogging I needed to get these on here. The kids were so excited to see the Shamu show. We had to sit and wait about 45 minutes till it started and we all got so sun burned. Kai is not a very patient kid so this wait about killed him.....and us.

There was a vendor selling swords at one of the shows we went to and Kai is obsessed with swords (I'm pretty sure most little boys are) so Justin and I waited and watched his face when he spotted them. It was classic. After he and Carson got their swords this is all they wanted to do.
This is what Kai did with grandma and Kamden while the rest of us went on the rides.

I couldn't believe how high this dolphin could jump. This was my favorite show there.

Girls Weekend...

I got to go to Utah this past weekend for our annual girls weekend/trip to Lagoon. I had so much fun with two of my sisters. Maybe next year my other sister can come now that she is living up there. I got there on friday and Melanie and I just bummed around all day. Then we had dinner with her husband and my brother Kevin and his wife Ashley. Saturday was good times....my other sister Theresa came up and we all headed to Lagoon including my niece Hailie. Hailie and I went on the sky fly thing. It's a big swing that they hoist you up in the air really high and then let you go so you can fly. By far the most exciting ride I have ever been on. I LOVE stuff like that. After a long day of laughing and running around we went back to Melanie's and Theresa stayed the night with us. Sunday morning we headed up to Logan and had lunch with our grandpa and then went by our aunt and uncles house and had a good visit with them.

Monday my sister Natalie and her family made the big move up there. We met them at their new home in Saratoga Springs and helped them upload the moving truck and unpack the house. All the sister were finally together for a few hours. Thanks so much to my sisters for a BLAST of a weekend. Love you all!!! (below is a slide show my sister put together and I posted it on my blog as well as hers.)

An evening at the beach......

We got to San Diego around 4 on Saturday. We checked into our hotel cleaned up the kids and headed out for a night on the town and some good dinner. We decided to head to the beach so that the kids could see the ocean. (We really should know better by now) The kids promised only to get their feet wet. (yeah right) After about 10 minutes of being there all the kids were soaked and having a blast. Kai ended up running from the waves and fell right on his head. He was done after that and wouldn't let anyone touch him. So he walked back to the car covered in sand and scream from being all sandy. Then to try and get him to sit in his car seat while wet and sandy was a whole other issue. The poor kid is a little OCD and this was killing him. After grandma promised to wash out his car seat when we got back to the hotel he finally gave in.

Yucky Poop.....

Kamden is working on potty training. The pee thing he got down right away. As for the poop thing well....let's just say he's only made it in the toilet once. He takes off his underwear and finds random places to go and then comes and tells me " MOM YUCKY POOP" then we get to go on a treasure hunt to find the "yucky poop". This time my foot found it before my eyes did. After a month some may say give up go back to the diaper but I am bound and determined to get this kid to poop in the toilet none of my other kids took this long. As for now I'm so glad we don't have a dog because we have Kammers. Although Riley wanted to clean up his poop one day to prove to us that if we got a dog she would clean up after it. This is a big deal because Riely has quite a gag reflex and it was all she could do to hold it in.

I just LOVE this boy......

Kamden turns 2......

We weren't planning on having a big party for Kamden this year until Riley guilt ed us into it. The kids only get party's on their even birthday's and this was Kam's year. We through together a party at the last minute and I think it turned out pretty fun. We borrowed and water slide and order a sub. All the kids had a good time. I don't even have a cake picture because we just had ice cream sandwiches (such a good idea Tonya!) And I think he was to busy to even eat one.

Kam getting birthday love from Brody.
Opening present, present and more presents.
Aww.....now time to clean up. Kamden didn't want to get out of the little pool.

Temple Picture and slacking....

It was brought to my attention today that I have been slacking on blogging. So here are a couple posts. This is my new temple picture I've been waiting for for my entry. I LOVE IT!! (it's much better in person)

Little Police Man....

Kai got this police man dress up for his birthday in March. He is just warming up to the idea of wearing it. This is the first time he would even try it on. Now he wears it all the time. It suits him as he is the "property police" around our house. If you are caught with something in your hands that doesn't belong to you watch out because your in for it.

Big girl....

Riley came down the other night after being put to bed and she was sooo not tired. (her words) This is her after about 2 minutes of laying on the chair. Just and I both looked over and we just can't believe how big our little girl is getting. Where does the time go? I have a picture of her in this same pose when she was about 2 1/2 with a blanket over her head trying to hide the binkie she was sneaking.

Family Fun.....

It has been so awsome having Justin home ALOT more!! After two years of working a second job he was able to quit this summer. Although I am so grateful for such a hard working husband it is nice to be back to "normal". His favorite thing to do is come home and play ball with the kids in the backyard. While I sit my fat butt on the swing and enjoy being outside with them! Just always talks me into hitting a few balls or pitching for him so he can hit a few balls though.

Kamden throwing the ball in.
Riley needs a little coaching.
Carson LOVES baseball.
Kai just likes to wear his mitt and stand be me at the swing.

MAMA MIA!!!!

So I'm totally obsessed with this movie! I can't wait to go see it again. I have been rocking out to the sound track at home and in my car. Probably way louder than necessary! Is this a sign that I'm getting old?? Rocking out to a soundtrack?!

Anyways,

ABBA was our "ROAD TRIP" music. 12 hours in a car up to Utah and back add that with 18 years of traveling up there at least once a year. Now that is ALOT of ABBA. Loved every minute of it though. I went and saw it while I was in Utah with one of my very favorite people. (My sister!) And her very fun crazy friend Leeann. Maybe that was half the fun. Either way I very highly recommend it to EVERYONE! It's definetly a leave there feeling good kind of movie. Just the kind I like. So if you haven't seen it yet what are you waiting for?? Anyone who wants to see it call me let's go!

Sad Day....

We had our last (for a long while) little rendezvous with some of my kids best friends. They left tonight for Montana and we are so sad. I'm so glad we got to play with them for a few hours tonight before the headed out. We went to McDonalds and had chicken nuggets and ice cream. Just what every kid loves. I love these boys like they were my own. It has been such a fun 3 years we will miss them dearly!! We hope you guys get there safe and all goes well with the new house. We await the day we can meet in Utah! We Love you guys!!!
Seth, Carson, Noah, Riley & Hope
P.S. Seth and Noah informed me they do not smile for pictures anymore.
Riely wanted a picture with her and Hope
