10th anniversary trip, part 2: New Hampshire and Vermont

After spending most of the day in Boston, we decided to head to the airport to pick up our rental car and get on the road to Vermont, where we were going to spend the night.  We signed up for a program where they just give us a deal on whatever cars they have a lot of that day, and the car of the day just happened to be a minivan, ha.  We made a quick decision to upgrade a little and she offered us a camero, which would have been fun.  But then, I asked if they had a Jeep wrangler, and they did (a soft top, even!), so we jumped on that!  It just seemed to fit. :)  We got everything loaded up and hit the road/  We headed up from Boston to New Hampshire and it was seriously one of the most gorgeous drives--the pictures don't even do it justice.  We tried to find something to do in New Hampshire, but we learned over the course of the trip that we were in the New England are in this weird season that was between winter and summer.  All of the winter activities were obviously closed, but the summer ones weren't open yet.  So, we just drove and took in the view. :)

10th anniversary trip, part 1: Boston

For about the last 7 years or so, Landon and I's plan has been to go to Hawaii for our 10th anniversary.  When we found out that we were expecting this third little one though, we decided to postpone the trip until we'd be able to go and really do all the things we wanted to do.  So, we decided to stay home and just go to dinner out somewhere or something.  Then, Landon found out that his family reunion was the weekend of our anniversary and he told me that he really wanted to go because his grandparents were getting sicker and it might be their last time there.  We ended up deciding (or so I thought :)) to go on Thursday and Friday before our anniversary and then come back for Aedan's last t-ball game and end of season party, and then go to dinner somewhere that night to celebrate.

Then, because of some circumstances, on the Sunday before our anniversary, Landon had to tell me that we actually had other plans.  Ever since we decided to not go to Hawaii, he'd been planning a trip for us to the New England area.  It was a bummer that he had to tell me early, but we were both excited for a getaway!  We'd be gone 4 days and nights--and the longest we'd been away from the boys since Austin's birth was a day.

Our life was still crazy and stressful, in the middle of FSBO home buying, loan complications, having our house on the market and other things, but we managed to pack up, drop the boys off with my parents and head to the airport for Boston that Thursday afternoon!  After I'd dropped the kids off, I cam home to a clean shaven hubby (looking SO much like the Landon of our earlier marriage days!) and we headed for the airport.  I'd lost about 15 things that day (including my credit card and camera charger), but eventually we had to stop looking and leave--it was a stressful last few minutes, but once we got to the airport, we managed to turn things around. :)  We enjoyed some pizza for dinner and then headed to our gate.  Our plane was delayed a few times because of weather, but eventually we were in the air headed to BOSTON!  I'd always wanted to go and was excited to be headed there. :)  And, it was the most beautiful sky and susnset that we flew over!

cute boys, summer weather and sunglassses!

Even though I could do without the crazy heat, I sure do love summertime and all the fun that comes with it!:)

FF Beach Day

Every year a few of us from our small group go to the beach and it's always a lot of fun!  Next year, I think we're going to rent a little beach house and just stay for the weekend!   The guys tossed the football around in the ocean, Aedan boogie boarded all morning and LOVED it, Austin and I sat in the ocean and let the waves crash onto us, which he loved, we flew a kit and got ice cream from the ice cream truck.  Not much more you could ask for from a Saturday morning!

How we found out that we're having a third boy!

On Thursday, Landon and I dropped the boys off with our awesome friends, Lauren and Peyton, and headed across town for our 20 week ultrasound (well, 19 weeks in this case, I guess. :)).  I'd been feeling the baby move around quite a bit more in the last week or so, so I wasn't super nervous, but just a little anxious to hear that everything was ok.  I know enough people who have heard words other than that at this ultrasound, and their stories were just there with us that day.  We were so thankful to hear though, that our little one was developing perfectly.  He (though we didn't know he was a he at the time!) was moving all around and kicking his little legs and arms.  It was so cute to see!  We got lots of little pictures and left feeling grateful and anxious to know if we were having a little boy or girl!

That afternoon, Landon worked and the boys and I ran around trying to get everything we needed for the gender reveal party that evening.  We picked up the kings cale from downtown, bought Aedan a pink shirt so he could cast his vote for a sister and picked up all of the food.  A little before 6pm, we picked up the pizza and headed to the Sugar Land Memorial Park to meet everyone.  Our house is stage and clean and on the market right now, so we didn't think having everyone at our house was the smartest idea. :)  Our original plan was to have everyone at the fun little park in our neighborhood, but it rained like crazy that morning and there was a chance of rain later that afternoon.  It looked like it would hold off until after the party though, so we decided to chance it and just moved it to a park with a covered pavilion.  It ended up being perfect--the rain held off, the kids got to play and we all hung out under the covered area when it did start to sprinkle right at the end.

It's a...

....BOY!  This October, we'll have three sweet boys and we can't wait!:)
I'm going to bed with a grateful heart tonight. We got to see our sweet baby moving ALL around on the ultrasound this morning and hear the sweet, sweet words that everything looks perfect, which is something we don't take for granted.

19 weeks!

This is a big week for you, and for all of us, sweet babe!  First, you took your first trip and airplane ride because your daddy and I went on our 10th anniversary trip to the New England area!  Also, for the very first time last night, I felt you kicking with my hand.  Your daddy was up at the church playing basketball with some friends and I was laying down with your big brothers to put them to bed.  We had just read Myrtle the Turtle and prayed and were laying in the dark.  I felt you moving and put my hand on my stomach and felt your sweet little kick (or punch, I guess!:).  I kept trying to feel you again, and to be able to let you daddy feel later that night, but it never did happen.  I've been anxiously awaiting our appointment this week to see you, so this was a sweet reminder that you seem to be growing and developing just perfectly.  Trusting God with you and His plan for your life.  We're excited to see you tomorrow and then to find out tomorrow night if you're our son or daughter!  When we first found out about you, I was a little nervous about how I was going to take care of 3 kids.  As time has gone on though, that anxiousness has lessened and this week, I have felt such peace about it.  I'm not exactly sure why, but I'm thankful!  We can't wait to see you tomorrow, sweet baby!
And sweet baby, you are so loved by your big brothers already!  Aedan is always talking about you and kissing you.  And just this week, Austin has started pointing to my belly and saying "bebe" when we ask where you are.  I love how they love you!

last week of Mommy School and our end of school celebration!!

We finished up Mommy School this week with the letter U for up!  It's been a good year and I'm so glad we stuck with it.  Parenthood has made me realize that follow through is sometimes not my strong suit, so I'm proud of us--we made it!!  The last few weeks were maybe not quite as involved with projects and the like as other weeks, because our house has been staged and half of our things are packed up and we're trying to not make messes, but we still did it.  We read through the whole Bible, worked on writing, worked on reading, worked on uppercase and lowercase, did projects, did activities, went to the library for books on that week's theme.  It's been a lot of fun!  This summer we're going to focus on reading, because he really wants to learn to read and is totally ready, and then I'm still trying to figure out what we're going to do for next year.  All I really know is I want to soak up this last year with him and do things connected to what he's interested in.  We'll see where that takes us. :)

27 months!

Sweet Austin, the months just keep flying by!  This has been a crazy month for us, with lots of trips and sleepovers and the general chaos of life that has come with having our house on the market.  But, you've been such a trooper and are good at just going along with life!  You bring so much life and fun to our lives and we're so thankful that God gave you to us!

18 weeks

Little one, you're still growing, growing, growing!  You're about 6 inches long now, from your head to your little bottom and for the first time this week, I really felt you moving around!  We were spending the night at your PamPam and Pepaw's house because we had some showings at our house and just sitting on the couch that evening.  I had just gotten home from coffee with Lauren and felt the unmistakable feeling of your little body kicking around.  It was so, so sweet!  I've been feeling you for the last few weeks, but this was different--I guess you're just getting a little bigger and stronger!  This was a fun week--and it's crazy to think that in just one week, we'll find out if you're a sweet baby boy or girl!

swim lessons and a beautiful day at the park

The day after we got home from Flordia, we started swim lessons for the boys.  Aedan was with Ms. Sandi again, who we loved last summer, and Austin and I did a Mommy and Me class at the same time.  Austin LOVED everything about it.  He listened to the teacher and did everything with a smile on his face.  He was so sad when it was over--he kept saying, "more pool!".  I'm excited for the rest of this month with him.  And it was fun being in the pool because I could see everything Aedan was doing too, since our classes were right next to each other.  He is definitely swimming now, which is fun!  He just got moved up to the next level, where they'll work on swimming and breathing techniques this summer, which we're both excited about!

Mother's Day

Ever since I was a little girl, I wanted to be a momma.  I'm so thankful to God for these two, and their daddy, who made that dream a reality.  Even amidst the craziness of this season of life, with two little and a third on the way, a flooded house that was supposed to be on the market and all of us camped out in our bedroom together (which I actually not so secretly love!), I feel so lucky.  We had a nice, low key day celebrating our moms and ended it with some downtime at home.  Being a mom is the hardest thing I've ever done, but I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Easter 2016

Easter is like Christmas to me--I want our kids to grow up knowing what it's really all about.  Last year, I found this little curriculum that we've done for the 2 weeks or so leading up to Easter that I LOVE.  It's called A Sense of the Resurrection and it's the only thing I've found that is really on a preschooler's level.  And I love that it focuses me on what Easter is all about too.

That being said, we did do some of the more "traditional" Easter activities too, just for fun.  One night the week before Easter, when Landon had to work late, the boys and I dyed Easter eggs.  It was controlled chaos, but they had fun and made some pretty eggs.:)

Mommy School-- vision week, pig week, servant week, money week and emotions week!

During vision week, we talked about the 5 senses and made a fun little book about them.

17 weeks!

I feel like you grew a lot this week, sweet baby!   People have been commenting on how big my stomach is, ha!  And oh my--my stomach looks huge in the picture below!!  But, that just means you're growing and getting bigger and stronger, little one!  This week, you're the size of a turnip this week--you weigh about 5 ounces and are about 5 inches long!  Your skeleton is changing from soft tissue to bone and all of your little joints move!  I'll bet you're just moving and kicking all around.  We scheduled your next ultrasound this week too, so in just 2 short weeks, we'll get to see you and find out if you're our son or daughter.   I can't wait!!  Love you, little one.

Kenna's graduation and the Florida beaches, part 2

On Sunday morning, Aedan woke up bright and early at his usual 645am.  The house was super uninsulated, and I didn't want him to wake everyone else up, so we headed to the deck.  My plan was to hang out there, but his plan was to go down to the beach, and I'm so glad we went with his plan. :)  Sweet memories!

I couldn't love him more if I tried, especially standing there with his little lovies, looking at the sun rising over the beach.

Kenna's graduation and the Florida beaches, part 1

When we got to Florida, everyone crashed out.  Aedan woke up at his usual tine, and Pam and Wes were sweet to watch him.  Austin slept in a little, and Landon got to sleep in a little later, but it was a short night for sure!

Lost Pines fun/Daddy's work retreat

At the end of April, Landon's first had their yearly company retreat at Lost Pines, outside of Austin, and we got to tag along for free!  It was a fun couple of days hanging out with my boys!

Aedan's first season of t-ball!

T-ball this year has been so much fun!  We weren't sure if Aedan would love it or not, but he was adamant about choosing it over soccer, so we went with his choice.  And seriously, you can't get cuter than a little boy in his baseball uniform. :)

At the first practice, they got their uniform shirts and hat.  Cuties!

learning to roller skate and time with Mere

A few months ago, we went to this toddler skate program and the boys loved it.  Well, Aedan was super excited to go, didn't love it at first because it was HARD, but kept going and had some success.  I was cheering him on the whole time, bless his little heart--and I was so proud of him for keeping on.  Since then, we've been 3 other times, and each time he's gotten steadier and steadier and had more and more fun.  It's so fun to see his confidence growing!

His first time on roller skates--the carpet was friendlier than the skate floor!

16 weeks!

Little one, this was a fun week!  We got to hear your sweet little heartbeat at the midwives office--it was loud and strong and she found it right away!  Your Mere was there to hear it too, and your big brothers.  We all were quiet, just listening!  I told Aedan this week that we were going to the doctor to make sure you were growing and he told me, "We know the baby is growing, because your tummy is getting bigger and bigger!".  Love him--and he loves you!

Life In Pictures, April edition

Lots of life happened in April!  Lots of fun, lots of craziness, lots of normal, everyday life, which I think is my favorite to document.  These days are busy and sometimes hard, but sweet and fun and I wouldn't trade them for anything.

We went skating a couple of Fridays, because sometimes it was easier to get out of the house when I was feeling sick than just to be at home.  It was fun to see them having fun and fun to see Aedan's confidence grow as he learned to skate!
