About town with daddy
Yesterday Anna went on a Christmas shopping trip with her daddy. Mommy was lucky enough to go get her hair cut (alone!) and Anna was lucky enough to snag a little one on one time with her daddy. They went to lots of stores that were a secret to me because Nathan was still doing his shopping. I think they had lots of fun together and I'm sure Nathan enjoyed being seen with the most fashionable girl in town and her pink puff ball hat.
Today Anna sat patiently in her high chair while I attempted to make various holiday baked goods. I use the word "goods" sparingly after some of the mishaps we experienced. But Anna was a good sport and she was much more concerned with her fruit puffs than she was with my peanut butter fudge disaster. She even stuck it out for another one of our home photo shoots!

Big scary world
Today Anna had her first ride in the seat of a grocery cart. Usually she stays in her carseat and I just hook it onto the cart. But last weekend we purchased a "Cart Safari" which is a little cloth cover for the grocery cart seat so that she can't touch (or taste) any of the yucky handles. It's supposed to look like a jeep with little animals attached, thus the name "Cart Safari". I figured now that she can sit up so well, she might as well go all out.
I strapped her in and she looked at me with this horrified little face. As the cart started to move she began to whimper until I assured her that no, the Cart Safari is really fun and we love it! She wasn't convinced. And honestly, neither was I. Each time the cart would go from not moving to moving her poor little body would wobble and her arms would sort of disappear behind the handlebar. Then she got sleepy and tried to lay her head on the side, all the way down by her waist. It was so sad! Even with a blanket tucked all around her she was just too small. I think we may stay in the carseat for a few more weeks....and Cart Safari is being returned for a refund!
