James BS Group 2007

Last year's Bible Study group~

I really appreciate what our leader did in this group. I believe that she really made a difference in our lives. I know she did for me! And she still is! I believe that God has brought us all together, not by accident. We gel-ed together so well over the months. Amazing~!

It was certainly an interactive, supportive & encouraging group!
We've learned heaps from one another... Just because one dedicated her time & effort, to do His will, to follow His calling by leading and guiding us through. Also, not forgetting, everyone else who were willing to come week in & out faithfully, asking questions for clarity/understanding of the Word and the desire to learn together.

It is the only group with all gals in it!

Thank You God for bringing us together.
I've seen the people in this group changed over the months, including myself.
Though we are separated into different groups now, I know that it was this BS group that kinda 'kicked start' heaps of things, esp. how much we are involved now in OCF in our growth and how we are shaped to be the individuals we are now.

So, Cheers~ To my JAMES BS GROUP! I miss ya all!~ Ze bond we have, I shalt not forget!

Hope we get to meet up again for gatherings~

Poem on Winter

Winter is here and the leaves had fallen away,
As the leaves had left the branches...
What does it signify in our lives?
What will our story be for this winter season?

Will this season be a time of rest for many?
Like bears hibernate in their caves
To take time off
From their daily activities

Reflecting through the things we've done
That truly makes a difference
Thinking about the things we can do
Which would be worthwhile

Not just things that could bring an impact
For the present times or on earth
But things we could do
That would last beyond our lifetime

Will it be a time of healing
For those who are hurting?
A time to mend their hurts
From some secret wounds from the past

A wilderness for some
As the day becomes dark earlier than before
As darkness has prolonged its stay
As rain pours from time to time

May they still notice
The light within the darkness
May they still look forward
For brighter days ahead filled with hope

May they embrace
What they'll learn thru the wilderness
As they would be molded
To stand strong through many other winters ahead

Winter...
The time you can spend
With the ones close to you
and the ones you love

Think about fellowship
that would last throughout winter days
Fellowship that could stand strong
Even through the cold wind

Friendships and relationships will bloom
Like flowers when spring comes
Only if they've learned
To go through winter days

Ready To Fly

Ready To Fly - Amy Pearson

I open my eyes the world seems a different place,
The colours are brighter and the air is sweet to taste.
see it's like I woke up from a nightmare that tied me down,
I smothered and trapped inside a sleep way underground

Its time I learned to fall,
To say the word goodbye.
To feel the sunlight on my face,
Maybe that means...

I'm ready to fly,
I wanna breathe in and breathe out and be who I am,
Let go of fear wanna feel alive.
I'm ready to fly,
The more that you hold me back you set me free,
You help my heart decide..
Maybe I'm, maybe I'm I'm ready to fly.

Where is your faith, where is your love for me?
Why do you fight the things I imagine in my dreams?
See the poison is strong, an addiction is tough to break.
But love is the hardest thing I have ever had to shake.

Its time to break these chains,
To look you in the eye,
To tell you that its over now,
Maybe that means...

(Give me the strength to walk away)
(Give me the strength to stay the road ahead)
Even if it's a lonely place.
(Give me the hope to mend this heart)
(Give me the chance to see love smile, smile again)
To see love smile..

Winter's best

How do you get prepared for winter season?

A hot drink.. but not just any~
Chocolate drink with marshmallow~ AWESOME!

Oh and pls wear multiple layers of clothes when you are out.
As you can see, Lizzie is wearing 2 layers - long sleeve + short sleeve (it's a fashion trend here) and remember to bring a jacket out.
Yes, Lizzie so eager to drink it and eat the marshmallow. haha!

Meals:
Have more carbs... eg. RICE XD
Broccoli is very good for health... it produces iron.. and err err.. it's good la.. lol
Have some meat for protein!

P/S Why this particular meal? Well, just because I thought this is the best dish I've made this year. It actually taste really good (In my opinion ler!) Hehe 'chow' broccoli for the first time & it turned out well! Proud of myself XD Also, I don't really have other pics of food that I've made XP So, hehe. Just promoting a dish I've made that was a success. YEY!

Cold Winter

Yes.. it is a cold winter.. and it's gonna get colder...
But I'm still gonna smile through it!~

Winter

And everything in time and under heaven
Finally falls asleep

Wrapped in blankets white, all creation
Shivers underneath
And still I notice you

When branches crack

And in my breath on frosted glass

Even now in death, You open doors for life to enter
You are winter

~lyrics from "Every Season" by Nichole Nordeman~

It is certainly getting colder here. Falls to 7C at night.
From ONE layer of clothes to FOUR layers when I go out.

I found myself reminiscing... Glimpses with different people who were close in my life...
Winter here in Adelaide last year was so different than this time around.
I found myself being close and surrounded by different people this year when I came back.
Found myself in a season of my life which is so different than the previous year.
Am in a new cozy place. My floor is carpeted which would keep my feet warm this year.

Wow...
Just thought about how God has brought me through the year.
I remembered how He called me to Himself and embraced me in His arms again... He healed my brokenness and wounds and opened up doors in my heart for life to enter (like in the song)

This year, He is certainly trying to open different doors, some doors wider...
Instead of allowing me to stay-in or hide away in my own 'room'/'space', being boxed up and secluded.
Slowly, He is bringing me out to try something new and adventurous, in which my heart longs for them somewhere deep inside.
Slowly, He trying to bring me out, helping me express myself more freely and discover His beauty & His heart.

He has started to prepare me for spring already...
That's when things will become clearer 'n busier in my life...
I know that it'll not be a smooth sailing season as I would have juggle between priorities.
As seasons change, will other areas in my life change too? I believe so.
Lifestyle, friendships, relationships, growth... I will change.

~As it takes time for flower buds to open, so will He do the same for me~

Embrace the 'winter' moment in your life, as I will for mine~
Wait for 'spring' to come... for something beautiful will come out from it!

Girl's Ministry #2 - The Search for My Prince

The promo video for Girl's Ministry #2 2008 : The Search For My Prince

Made by Esther Wong
Organized & directed by Lizzie Hie & Kristin Hsu

OCF Adelaide Uni, Gals ministry has been such a blessing to many people in Adelaide.
It started since last year, when Ms Shelley had a vision, a passion for girls and the idea was supported by many other sisters in Christ as well!
We always have a great time of sharing, learning.. of laughters and tears... being together as girls.. as His precious daughters...

The girls (2008)

On 10th May 2008:
Girls gathered at one of our sister's in Christ home.
Our title: The Search for My Prince.
No no not earthly Prince but our Heavenly Prince.
We learnt so much on:

  • how much our God pursues after our hearts
  • understanding of how good He is
  • understanding why we 'walk away' from His love
  • knowing that, He STILL searches, STILL pursues after us and STILL WANTS US. No matter how far we've gone away from Him, how much we've rebelled, no matter how we've abandoned from our first love for Him, no matter what we did to hurt Him and ourselves.. He STILL WANTS US
We had a time of sharing after the speaker session. We poured our hearts out, even after the session and we prayed for one another. It was the longest girl's ministry session we've ever had.

Know that you are never alone in your struggles!
