10 Months of Sweetness!

what is it with the tongue lately?? so funny...

Stella likes to pull her hair bows out now...oh well :)

Stella practicing on Gran's piano...I know she would be so proud....

Daddy and Stella taking a ride on the lawn mower.

Stella is 10 months old today. I can't believe that in two short months our baby will be a year old. And yes, I am planning the birthday party as I type. :) Stella has accomplished even more this month. She starts her day by waving to all of her birds in her room, then she looks over to the pictures on the wall of her friends and waves at them too....so sweet. She jibber jabbers all the time now and one day I could have swore she said chicken. When someone asks her where her hair or toes are, she places her hands on her head or toes. I haven't gotten this on video yet, but I will try in the near future. She has started to imitate noises such as "shew-wee" when she has a stinky...she thinks this is really funny. She's also started to react and enjoy her children's music CD in the car. We've listened to various CD's while we are playing and she likes to dance to those, but just recently has she shown interest in music while riding...other than Michael and I singing to her :)

Eye Exam

Stella has had a clogged tear duct since she was born, that causes clear water to drain from her eye and sometimes nasty "gook" too. Today we visited the eye doctor for the first time to see what needs to be done. She had her eyes dilated followed by an eye exam. The doctor confirmed that it was a clogged duct and advised us to continue massaging the corner of the eye whenever possible. This is a little hard to do now when Stella is awake since she likes to "bat" at your hand if it's close to her face! :) So, I've found the best time to do it is when she's asleep!
I just had to take a picture of her and Daddy sitting in "the chair" as we were waiting. She was a great sport...even when the nurse had to put 3 drops in each eye.
Say a prayer that this will clear up on it's own so that a procedure won't have to be done that requires sedation.

Give me your sweet look...

Stella is showing us a little more everyday that she knows what we are saying...it is so fun! Here is an example of what we call her "sweet look".

Labor Day At Mimi's

Just a glimpse of Labor Day at MiMi's house. The video is really short, but this is just a small version of what Stella has been talking about for the past week now. I love it when she makes the motions with her mouth, and then gets quiet.. and then all of a sudden really loud... Bye Bye Ba-Ba- Bye! So cute! Here's Stella and Grandma Spencer reading together...while cruising in little in between!

9 Months of Fun!

Stella turned 9 Months old September 1st!!! She now weighs 21.9 lbs and is 28 inches long. The doctor said she is doing great and has lots of padding on her :) She loves to get down and around on her own...all of the time. We can put a hairbow in her hair without the headbands now too! She eats 3 meals a day. The only thing that she doesn't enjoy are carrots. We'll keep working on that! She has 3 teeth on the bottom, and a new one has already broken through within the past several days. Another new skill that she likes practicing is pulling things out of containers. She likes to drag out all of her toys from her toy bins and all the folded clothes from the clothes basket. Now we just need to work on putting things back :)
Stella and Daddy walking in the yard... can you tell Michael was out in the sun earlier that day?

Once I opened Stella's new box of diapers and put them away, I was going to throw the box away, like we usually do...but Stella had other plans. She is getting around quite well these days and I am just happy that she created a walker for free...well, except for the diapers that came with it! :)
