riverbanks zoo!

We finally made it to the zoo!! We've been anticipating this day for a while, it seems like! The weather was perfect...a little breezy and overcast. The kids did great, considering how they refuse to sleep in the car, which meant no nap for the little guy until he gave it up in the stroller for a while.   Mom and Dad came along, too...I think we were more amazed at the animals than Stella and Sawyer!

Stella getting ready for her pony ride :)
Can you tell she loved it?
We were able to feed the giraffes.  This was so exciting seeing them so close! Stella was brave and loved every minute being so close.  She asked if she could ride one. :)
We kept the carousel worker busy, too.  This was Stella's favorite part of the day.

I put my camera on another setting and this was exactly how it took the picture! I was a little shocked...I know, nothing great, but until I get my fancy camera, I'm pleased with this! :)
taking a ride on the train!
The family of baboons were my favorite!  I'm just amazed at the appearance of this guy!  I could stare at him all day!
 watching the fish...

We stayed to check the snakes out a while...so interesting...
The end of a fun day!!

I had to take these shots...here's the Mama baboon cleaning the baby...she combed her hair, and picked stuff out of it for the longest time, and this is how the baby baboon reacted. I know, it's probably not as exciting as it looks, but I thought it was hilarious.

until next time!

this past weekend

We accomplished a lot this past weekend around our house. From yard work, to new hair-do's, to visiting old friends!

Sawyer mowing the lawn :)

Michael built our first boxed garden.  We are relying on the expertise of Pa-paw and a few books I checked out at the library to help us out.  Thankfully I have several friends that have gardened before, and some that are new, like me.  I think between all of that, we should at least get a good pepper, don't you?
Stella and Pa-paw after planting the first tomato plant!
Sawyer working on the rock wall to surround the blueberry bushes!
Saturday we headed to Epic Church to see some old friends that we served with at Union Road Church of God.  It was great catching up and seeing some of our youth....that were no longer "youth"anymore.
 Sunday's pretty hair :)
A yard sale find for $4 that will be made into something magnificent! :)

The first time Stella drove Sawyer in the car!  Can you tell he loved it?!!

Easter part 2

Easter started out with prizes. Before we opened everything, we talked about what happened a long time ago...Stella said, "He's not dead anymore!"
 My sweet babies :)
After church, we headed to China Grove to be with the family.  Here we are on the hunt!
Sawyer and cousin Tyler taking a ride in the wagon.
all the girls :)

We hope all of you had a happy Easter!  Thank you, Jesus for giving us life everlasting!

easter part 1

I can't believe Easter has come and gone...where does the time go?  :)  We started the season off by having breakfast with the Easter bunny.  Stella loves the characters and would take them home...Sawyer, on the other hand, isn't too sure.

 my little blondies ;)
A few days later, we headed to Holly's for an egg hunt, snack time, story time and craft with lots of new and old friends.  The weather turned out perfect.  Thanks for hosting, Holly.  Next year will be even better!
This past Saturday, we attended the Easter Eggstravaganza at our church.  We set up a table and separate area for egg hunting just for our 2-4 year olds.  We had a great turnout!  So thankful for these little ones!!
 Waiting to hear, "GO!"

another first

Stella has been in her toddler bed since she was around 19 months...it was time for a change.  This was one of Michael's beds when he was little.  She wants a room makeover when she turns 4, so we might give it a coat of paint when her big day rolls around.  For  now, she's happy and content in her big girl bed that's almost to tall for her to get up in on her own. :)

 being silly :)
