I'm back after a whole 5 days off from work - and blogging. So let me start with Tuesday - that was my last day of work for the Holiday. Stew's parents arrived on Tuesday afternoon and they stayed with us until Friday.
Wednesday, my Mother-in-law and I did some cooking in the morning, a quick stop at the grocery store, (what would Thanksgiving be without having to pick up last minute items?) then we were off to our ultrasound at 1:00. I was so nervous all day - on the verge of tears. I was anxious, nervous, worried, wondering and hoping all at the same time. We invited both of our parents to the ultrasound - but decided to take some time for to ourselves first. So a little after 1:00 we were called in by the nurse. The room was warm and dark - somewhat relaxing too. I was told to have a full bladder at my appointment - which, I'm not even sure what that means at this point, because the ultrasound technician told me to use the bathroom because my bladder was TOO full. But, before I did that - I told her we wanted to know the gender, so please warn us prior to telling us and not to just yell it out unexpectedly. (demanding, eh?). She was very nice and said "of course". She asked if I had a gut feeling. I told her that from day one - I said BOY. I also told her that everyone else said GIRL...literally EVERYONE ELSE (except for two friends...out of...well, a lot). She placed the wand on my stomach and in one quick circular motion I saw the baby! She made another quick "swoop" and told me to empty my bladder. But before I could, I had my eyes fixed on the flat screen in front of me. I said "That's a weenie!" She responded: "We'll determine that as soon as you get done using the bathroom" As I emptied my bladder - I knew what I had just seen - very quick shot of what I thought was "male!"
I got back on the table, she lubed up my belly and my eyes darted to the flat screen again. I was holding Stew's hand so tight. My poor Husband...sitting there not knowing really what to expect, but still holding my sweaty little hand. She showed us the profile, then to the gender. I knew exactly what I was looking at. (I googled what the different genders would look like on an ultrasound! I know...I'm crazy). So she continued, "If you look right there you will see..." That's all I heard. In that split second I burst into tears (happy tears). I knew it.
We are having a SON!
Look at this picture as if he were sitting on a copy machine.
His little butt, two legs and his boy parts in the middle. (the black circle is his bladder)
At this point, Stew headed to the waiting room and got our parents. We continued the ultrasound for another 40 minutes. She took every possible measurement, looked at every finger and toe, and took in depth pictures of his little heart. I was finally at ease. Here are a few pictures of our precious baby boy!

He was so animated throughout the ultrasound. It was surreal. When we first saw him, his legs were crossed at the ankles and his hands were behind his head - just lounging in Moms belly. I love him so much!
So onto Wednesday Night, we had a get-together planned at a family friends house. We had planned to share the gender with them all, so we had fortune cookies made. (yes, I bought both girl and boy cookies)
Us at the Eve party - shortly after finding out we are having a boy!
And celebrating our 5 year "Engagement Anniversary"
Thursday, was Thanksgiving of course. So much to be thankful for this year! We hosted 13 family members on Stew's side. It was a great time as always.
D & G Family
Friday, Stew and I hit up the Black Friday Sales - mostly for Baby G! We even ordered his nursery furniture and got a great deal. I can't wait until it's delivered!
Saturday & Sunday, we did a lot of lounging around. Grocery store, getting the house back to normal. We took down all the Fall decor and put up the Christmas stuff. We got our tree and decorated it on Saturday night. The fire was lit, Christmas Vacation was on TV and it suddenly started to S*N*O*W!!! It was perfect.
Sunday was spent "crying" over the fact we had to return to work in 24 hours. But, we have plenty of leftovers - which, by the way - I'm going to turn into a stuffed artichoke if I keep eating them as much as I have.
Today, I'm/we are back to work. Nothing too crazy is planned for this week...but seeing the baby was measuring a little bigger than we expected, tomorrow I will technically be 19 weeks! That means in one more week - we are half way to meeting our little guy.
I hope you all had a great Holiday - now it's back to Cyber Monday shopping!
