Morning Laughs

Since Stew and I started dating - he has always left work before I was even awake. When I still lived at home - and he had his condo, I'd stay over some nights. He would always leave me a note in the morning on the kitchen table. That was 6 years ago. The "tradition" still lives on today. I go downstairs every morning and the first thing I do is read my note. Sometimes it's a simple "Have a good day - I love you"...others it's more detailed, like what Nate did (ate, went out...and so on). Well, as I may have mentioned, I've had some pretty bad sciatica and lower back pain lately...on Monday, it was so bad - I had a hard time walking. So Stew knows that for the past few days, I haven't been very comfortable. I had my 36 week check up appointment today - which I knew was going to involve my Group B Strep test and my first "exam" - I was a little nervous, so Stew wrote me a nice note...I get to just about the last sentence and see this...

Yes! That line reads "Hope you are in pain." I honestly couldn't stop laughing. I knew that he meant he hoped I WASN'T in pain...but just reading it makes me laugh...every time I looked at it over breakfast I just laughed. I took this picture and texted him that he was mean. HA HA HA! I love him so much!

After a good laugh over breakfast, I was off to my Doctor appointment. I did a lot during this appointment. Weight, urine check, blood pressure, filled out a questionnaire to see if I had signs of postpartum depression, was given a Group B Strep test (yuck) and had an exam. I am not dilated, but my cervix is thinning out. All looks good. She estimated his weight at 6lbs 3oz right now.

I discussed a few of my aches and pains - and all are normal, which I knew they would be - but it's nice to hear. I will be seeing my Dr every week now - a milestone of sorts. My next appointment is Tuesday. I am officially up 31 lbs.

A snow storm is coming into New England on Friday...not just a mix...but SNOW. Great! Hope you all are having a great week.

My weekend in 3 words...

NESTING. HAS. BEGUN.

Yes, it's true. I believe the "nesting" stage has officially begun. Now that I'm at 36 weeks - I don't know whether I'll have one or two weekends to get things done or 4 weekends. I have two major lists going. A list of things for Stew to get done around the house and a list of things for me to get done around the house and for work.

This weekend was busy and again - I think I "over did it". I couldn't get out of bed this morning. My back/sciatica was killing me. I'm sure all the errands and shopping I did, along with the cleaning didn't help. I finally did make it to the office around 11, but that wasn't before making about four different stops - the Bank, Dunkin' Donuts, Gas station and Home Depot.

This weekend I had my girlfriends baby shower on Saturday while Stew and my Dad put hardwood floors in the living room! I'm in love! They look so good and on Sunday they were finished. It was a lot of work - and I'm so happy. I'll post pictures soon. My Mom and I went shopping on Sunday while the guys finished up. I picked up a few things, but didn't get done what I had planned. Stew and I were so busy around the house, we didn't end up eating dinner until 8pm. No wonder why I'm so tired today.

Here is what we did get done:
  • Hardwood floors in the living room
  • New area rug - purchased
  • House cleaned from top to bottom
  • Baby safety items have been installed around the house
  • Baby G's coat rack hung
  • Bathroom baby items installed and ready to go
  • Changing table ready - diapers & wipes
  • Car seat base installed in my Jeep
  • Grocery shopping - done
  • Laundry - done
  • Home office desk painted and antiqued by Stew! I love it. He did an awesome job.
I won't even begin to share the TO DO list...it's not too bad, but some items, like moving the grill, will have to wait until the temps rise above 30 degrees. Yes, it's in the 30s here today. I'm wearing flip flops. I don't care if my feet are cold. Nate was the only one around today and he couldn't help me get on my real shoes. Although, if I asked, he might have tried.

This week I have a few things going on - my 36 week check up is on Wednesday and on Friday we are going to our favorite Mexican restaurant with my parents - a little "thank you" dinner for my Dad helping with the floors. They have the most amazing buffalo wings - I can't wait.

That's all for today - I'm off to rest my hips/back/legs and whatever else is aching on my body. I will post pictures of our new living room this week.

Enjoy your week!

35-34

Happy Thursday.

35 weeks...34 days to go! We only have 34 days until our DUE DATE! 34!!!! And we should just call it 33 because as far as I'm concerned - the day is almost over.

I feel like we still have so much to do around the house in preparation for his arrival, but I know he won't care if the hardwood floors are in or if his bookcase isn't completely decorated yet - but it's things like these that make me feel better calm if they are done before he arrives.

I'm waiting for my new (work) laptop to arrive - and I'll be able to get my home office set up. I'm hoping to get some things around the house done this weekend. I have my girlfriends baby shower on Saturday - and on Sunday, we are planning to do a little shopping. Stew and I might hit the outlets - he needs new sneakers...and Mama needs some shopping therapy.

This past weekend, Stew was good enough to put together all of the baby stuff we got - including the BOB, swings and seats. I put away and washed everything. Nate helped too.

He's so curious

Checking everything out

A quick story about Nate - I was in the dining room, going through some of the gifts. Stew and Nate were putting together the swing. All of a sudden, I look over at Nate, thinking to myself "oh he's so good, just laying in his bed" - oh no! Not quite. He got ahold of one of the small stuffed animal lambs that goes on the swing. It was soaked with drool and nasty. I put it in the washer - and it looked like new. I think we are going to have some Nate vs. Baby G toy confusion.

Last night we attended my brother in laws High School wrestling banquet. He's the head coach and the season is coming to an end - so he hosted a "non-school" affiliated awards night. It was such a great event and he did an amazing job! Well done, Timmy! I'm so glad we could be there.

Today, I had a busy morning - work wise. Now I'm looking at the clock wondering where the day went. I did manage to sneak in a call with Leanne, a visit from Stew and this post.

Yesterday - Stew and I had a lunch date while I got my tires rotated. And tomorrow I have another lunch date - with my Mom. In my defense though - I'm lucky enough to have lunch at a clients restaurant (amazing restaurant)...I need to pick up a few things from him. What better way to end the week. *And Mom, I'm dreaming of the day when I can have a martini with you...yes, at lunch. Don't judge. :)

So back to the 35 week update:

  • Week: 35! (5 weeks until my due date)
  • Baby: still doing great. A lot of movement, some are still scaring me. They are a lot bigger and harder movements and rolls.
  • Sleep: it's getting a little better. I'm still very thirsty at night.
  • Food: still the same. I'm not overly hungry - just can't cook chicken or steak.
  • Looking forward to: EVERYTHING...but mostly that day when I go into labor.
  • Complaints: Nothing! Still loving it.
  • Next Appointment: Wednesday - then I have an appointment every week until he arrives!
Baby G/Belly Pics:

As you can see - Nate is my shadow lately

And finally - this picture below didn't come out the way I wanted, but after looking in the background, you'll see why I posted it. Nate's little head poking up. He is always right by my side, checking out what I'm doing. I really think he knows it's getting close. He breaks my heart sometimes.

Happy {almost} Weekend!

Our Couples Baby Shower

On Saturday night - we were lucky enough to have my parents and sister throw us the most amazing Couples Baby Shower!

Everything about the night was perfect. The decor, the company, the food and the drinks! Stew and I received so much stuff for Baby G and are so lucky to have such great friends and family. Thank you to all who attended and sent a gift for G. We truly appreciate it.

Sunday morning - we got up early and brought my sister-in-law to the airport and she headed back to Florida. We ended up putting together most of the things we got and organized a lot of the new stuff. I did not have enough energy to download those pictures yet - so stand by - much more to come.

Here are a few pictures from our Couples Baby Shower:

Happy Spring!

34 Week Belly Pics

I'm home on this rainy day - in my pjs...laying on the couch! Seeing I had the time, I wanted to share my 34 week belly photos and update.

  • Sleep? not great. I toss and turn a lot, get up to use the bathroom - a lot, I'm thirsty throughout the night...and I'm starting to have weird dreams.
  • Weight? pretty good. I've gained a pound since my 32 week visit. I booked my 36 week appointment in 2 weeks, then I'm down to seeing the Doctor EVERY week. YIKES!
  • Food? I'm not liking too much again. I feel the way I did in my first trimester. Meats are a big no-no for me right now. I'm still craving cereal, milk, PB&Js...and anything sweet.
  • Complaints? nothing. Still have some minor aches and pains and as I said before, things are getting harder to do...but still feeling great overall.
  • Baby? He's very active - and growing (as you'll see below)
  • Miss? I'd say I miss nothing...because it's true. These last 8.5 months have been an amazing time for me and us. But let's be honest...having my old body back will be nice...and having a few drinks wouldn't hurt either.
  • Look forward to? Our couples baby shower on Saturday!

The Belly at 34 weeks. 6 more to go!

34 Weeks

I had my 34 week check up this morning. I am happy to report that EVERYTHING is still going great. Blood pressure, weight (gained 1 pound since my 32 week check up), and the baby is still moving and kicking away - still in position. I will post belly pictures tomorrow - but for today, I'm heading home from the office. It's a rainy, gloomy day and the perfect day to lay on the couch with Nate.

This is how I feel today:

Nursery Update

Happy Sunday!

Stew and I are exhausted! He's off to take a long shower, so I figured I'd sneak in a blog post before making tacos for dinner tonight. We had a busy and productive weekend - Friday night we stayed in and rented "127 Hours". It was a good movie, worth seeing! Saturday we did errands, had lunch out together and worked on Baby G's nursery. It's coming to together just the way we hoped. At work on Friday, I designed a few pieces of wall art - so we hang those above his changing table.

Today has been a day of cleaning - I wouldn't call is "nesting" just yet - but it's getting there. A lot of organizing and we'll call it "Spring Cleaning". Stew cleaned the garage, while I cleaned the house. I'm tired! My back hurts.. But that's OK - I'm happiest when my house is spotless.

Here are a few pictures from yesterday - working on the baby's room. Hope you all had a great weekend.  Enjoy your week. Only 6 days until our Baby Shower!

Pros & Cons - 33 weeks!

If you watch Late Night with Jimmy Fallon - you'll know that he does a segment of Pros & Cons. This is my "33 week Pros & Cons - Pregnancy"

CON: I can't seem to find anything for dinner that I like.
PRO: Last night we had McDonalds cheeseburgers, fries and a chocolate shake for dinner!

CON: I'm having a hard time putting on my sneakers.
PRO: I just bought a new pair of cute slide on flats.

CON: My back hurts.
PRO: Stew gives a great massage.

CON: I'm getting tired.
PRO: My boss told me to sleep in.

CON: I still have about 6 weeks to go.
PRO: In about 6 weeks we get to meet our son!

So today is the 33 week mark. As you can see there are pros and cons. Things are starting to get harder. I think it's because I'm getting more tired. Sleep isn't coming easy, I feel like I toss and turn a lot at night. And thirsty - I'm so thirsty at night! But other than that - things are still going great. He's moving around a lot, some movements are harder than others...and some nights we'll look down and he has some body part sticking out.

Over the weekend we picked up a few more things for the nursery - it's almost finished. We are waiting until after our shower to put the final touches on it. Our Couples Baby Shower is next weekend! I can't believe it. I'm so excited! Excited to see friends and family that we haven't seen in a while and to know that our baby shower is actually here! I thought "wow. I'll be so close once we have the shower"...and now it's next weekend!

My girlfriends shower is the following weekend - then we are into our BIRTH MONTH! And seeing that is getting so close - I built my new work lap top and will be setting up my home office in the next few weeks. And along with that - I am going to start making a few lists. Lists of phone numbers for Stew - just so we don't forget things in the heat of the moment - whenever that "moment" will be.

We don't have any plans for this weekend - except to get together with my sister and her husband. But that is it! I'll leave you with the belly progression photo. I did add a 33 week-er from today too. A few things I think you'll notice in these photos - 1. I'm not hardly as tan as I was in August! 2. The belly along with everything else is growing. 3. I change my iPhone cover a lot. 4. I popped somewhere between 24 and 28 weeks! Enjoy!

"Good Evening, Mrs Pappagiorgio"

You probably don't understand the title of this post, unless you're a fan of the movie Vegas Vacation like I am! I must have quoted 5 lines a day while in Vegas. I love this movie. Stew has only seen it once or twice...so he's excited to watch it again now that we're back from our trip.

Our trip started off on Friday. We had a storm roll in early Friday morning, so I worked from home and finished packing. We headed to my parents around 4 pm to drop off Nate and catch a ride with them. Our flight was at 7:45 pm, but with the bad weather and the fact we knew we'd be hungry, we left a little early. We had a great dinner at Legal Seafood, and boarded the plane a little before 9. (It was delayed by an hour). I knew that we had a 6 hour flight ahead of us, but seeing the time, I figured we'd be able to sleep. Boy, was I wrong. We sat on the runway de-icing and re-fueling for 3 hours! That was half the length of what we thought our flight would be. I was still in pretty good shape, considering it was mid-night. I figured that once we took off, I'd fall asleep. I was wrong again. With the threat of re-fueling again in Salt Lake looming over us...I couldn't sleep. My back started to hurt...bad. My legs from the knees down began to swell...and somewhere over South Dakota the tears started rolling down my face. I was in so much pain from sitting...the plane was dark and quiet. I was miserable. I still had a least another 3 hours and the possibility of stopping for fuel. We finally landed in Las Vegas at 6:30 am (our time) - 3:30 am Vegas time. I texted my Dad to let him know we just landed - to my surprise, he responded. He was up having coffee and reading the paper. I'm not sure who was more surprised.

We checked into the Monte Carlo and went to bed. My back ached and my feet looked like Fred Flintstone's. We woke up around 9 am - still not completely rested, but starving. My "body" thought it was lunch time and I that had skipped breakfast. So we were up for the day and decided to eat and start being "tourists". We walked around much of the day on Saturday - then went to Le Reve at the Wynn and had dinner at an amazing Steak House. After dinner the show - we sat at the Caribbean Poker table and played cards - not winning big, but having a blast together.

Sunday, we did more walking around, shopping, eating, drinking and gambling. Stew and I went to a bar called Minus 5. It was an ice bar! Freezing, especially when you don't have shots and strong cocktails to warm you up. It was definitely a "cool" experience though! No cameras are allowed and the photos on the website are all protected, so you'll have to trust me on this one.

Monday and Tuesday, I spent the day by myself...relaxing, shopping and...well - eating! Stew was attending a work event both days, but it was nice to relax.

Ok. Ok. This post is getting a little too long - on to the good stuff. PICTURES! Enjoy.

There were reflective building everywhere! I couldn't resist.

 Shopping at Planet Hollywood

An awesome Seafood/Oyster & Wine bar - too bad I can't have either one of those items.

Shopping!

Baby G goes to Vegas!

Heading to Minus 5 and dinner

You'll have to excuse all the pictures I posted below - but these little cupcakes deserve a lot of "exposure". If you couldn't find me in Vegas - go over to the "Cupcakery"...you'd find me there. I went on three separate occasions and tried three different gourmet cupcakes!

**AMAZING**

Chocolate Peanut Butter Chip

So that was our Vegas trip in photos! We had such a great time at what will probably be our last trip sans Baby G (although he was sort of there).

And a real quick update from yesterday's appointment - Baby G is doing great...still in the head down position and growing like crazy!

Happy Friday and have a great weekend.
