My old stomping ground

For those that don't know me in real life - I spent from the ages of 2 to 21 on Lake Winnipesaukee. My parents had a lake house and every summer, the day that school let out...we packed our bags and moved up to the lake for the months of June, July and August. I said good-bye to my "home" friends and I was off to spend my Summer days with my "Lake" friends. And by the way - my "Lake" friends were so much cooler.

This Lake holds a lot of memories for my Sister and I...and my Husband and I are hoping to get back on that Lake some day so that IV can create the same, if not better, memories than I did - well, minus the cigarettes that we would steal from my Dad and the Bartles & James we would steal from our friends parents. But you get it.

So yesterday - IV was introduced to my old stomping ground...needless to say, he loved it. He wouldn't be my child if he didn't.

So big.

Happy Weekend, Friends.

DIY - Framed Necklace Holder

I have a small wall in our bedroom that was just screaming "put something cute and crafty on me" Ok...not really, but it was another cloudy day in New England...so to Pinterest I went. I found some cute necklace hangers - but one of my favorites was the one my bloggy friends AP over at ILYMTC's did.

Yesterday we were off to hunt for the material we needed.

First stop - AC Moore to pick up fabric. I bought a yard for $9.99. I didn't need a yard, but wanted to have extra incase I wanted to do something else to match my framed necklace holder project.

Next stop - Kohls! And I'm not going to lie - we should have gone to Hobby Lobby or Michaels for a frame - but I went with Kohls because I wanted to look at the swimsuits. Shhhh! I ended up finding a framed cork board on clearance for $9.99 as well...and I loved the actual frame, so in the cart it went.

*And, I didn't leave with a new swimsuit.

Finally - Home Depot to find hooks. They don't sell "just a few" - so I had to buy a package of 100 for $3.49. Self checkout it was and we were off.

Once we came home, IV had a snack and I started taking apart the frame - that was Step 1.

Step 2. (once the frame was apart) I measured out how many hooks I wanted and started to screw them in.

Sept 3: I measured out my fabric and hot glued it to the back of the frame.

And voila! It was complete.

Hung on my wall and hung some of my favorite necklaces.

Strawberry Pick & 90+ degrees

Yesterday, my Mom and I headed out at 8AM to go strawberry picking. It was IV's first time and he loved it...I swear he must have eaten 20+ strawberries while we were there.

Like most of the East Coast, we are in the midst of a heat wave - yesterday the temps reached close to 100 degrees and it will be the same today.

We spent only an hour strawberry picking - due to the heat..then we headed to my parents house to enjoy a day by/in the pool.

My Dad and IV

Thank you so much to my Mom and Dad for such a great day. I don't think we could have kicked off the first day of Summer any other way.

HAPPY SUMMER, Friends!

Jimmy Fallon.

5. What is your dream vacation?

My special talent would to be never feel tired....that'd be something.

8. What is your favorite breakfast food?
French Toast - but don't make it enough.

9. If you could do anything, what is your dream job?
Own a cheese and wine store...a cute one. Or maybe get back on that Gas Dock on the Lake.

10. What is your guilty pleasure?
Dirty Martini's and reality shows.

11. What is the best piece of advice you've ever received, and who gave it to you?
"Fuck 'em...if they don't like it...oh well." (seriously! and I just gave that advice to someone else)

That's all, Friends. Happy Tuesday.

DIY - Toothpick Flag Wreath

Hands down - the easiest wreath I've made and not time consuming.

Wreath and ribbon can be found at Michaels. The toothpick flags can be purchased here.

And this wreath would't be complete without this guy below...
