Life Lately

What our life looks like lately:

Clark is still moving around the house for IV to find in the morning - and let me tell you, I have not disappointed. He gets so excited every morning.

Some say it's creepy that this Elf watches you and reports back to Santa - well for now, that's not how we play the game. This is our buddy, Clark...who just hangs out in the house and in the morning...it's super fun to come downstairs and find him.

And yesterday - IV got an email video from Santa. By the way - IV is not a fan of Santa this year. So this video was quickly turned off.

And I'm happy to report that IV still a rock star when it comes to the "potty". He loves to sit..do what he has to do and even read a book. It helps him to relax (kidding. I don't know if it does or not)

And finally - with tomorrow being December 1st - I quickly put together IV's 25 Day of Christmas gifts during nap time. A lot of people have been doing books as gifts. Books are expensive. And...well, my boy has a TON of books, some he even has 3 of. Yes, books are important and a great learning tool. But my 25 Day of Christmas is also fun, educational - but more importantly - holds a special meaning and lesson.

Carefully hand selected (and washed) from a suitcase in the basement by me. Previously enjoyed by my Husband Stew and his Father Stew Jr. These are all hand-me-down cars that I hope IV will enjoy just as much as his Dad and Papa did.

Stupid Elf

I can't stand it when I become obsessed with something. Seriously. I do it all the time. I get something in my little head and I run with it. It's extremely annoying and somewhat exhausting. I'm not lying.

We were gifted The Elf of the Shelf last year. We read the book to our then 8 month old and put "Clark" (who we named in full Clark W. Gregory...after the great Clark W. Griswald) in cute places throughout the living room. IV was 8 months old. Clearly, he didn't "get it". For weeks, I can guarantee you that he sat on the the foyer hutch....looking all creepily at us as we walked in each day.

Well we busted out Clark on Saturday after Thanksgiving, stuck him on painting we have hanging on the wall in the living room and waited for IV's reaction the following morning.

HE. WAS. ECSTATIC! Like...I'm talking over the moon - so excited to see him. I was pleasantly surprised.

So I agreed to that challenge. (shhhh...he didn't really challenge me...but don't' tell Stew that). The challenge was to get a bigger and better reaction and smile each day. Ha. I'm totally setting myself up for failure. I know this.

But we are three for three. Bigger. Better and more "oooohhhhs" and "ahhhhhhhs" each morning.

I'm winning.

Thanksgiving Weekend 2012

All I can possibly say is that we are so very grateful for all that we have. Amazing friends, the best family and lots of love.

Thank you to all who made our Thanksgiving 2012 special.

On Thanksgiving Eve - we hosted a buffet style party:

And then woke up on Thanksgiving morning and headed out early to my parents house for food and drinks.

After lunch with my family we headed to Massachusetts for dessert and to spend time with Stew's family.

We were lucky enough to enjoy a second Thanksgiving at our house on Friday as well. By Saturday, Stew's family had to head back to Florida. IV had so much fun playing with his cousin and seeing everyone again though - it was a great weekend!

On Sunday we put up our Christmas Tree and "Clark" (the Elf on the Shelf) arrived.

This is my favorite time of year - I can't wait for the next month of activities.

Friday Morning

Life has been so busy lately - that I'm actually wondering what I'll do during nap time today seeing work is slow.

This morning I mailed out three photos session CDs that I shot last weekend. And I have another two this weekend.

Yesterday, IV and I had a fun morning grabbing a bite to eat at Starbucks together - something we never do...because, well technically, I should be in my office working at 10am on Thursday. But some days you just need to throw work out the window and enjoy a morning with your 18 month old. Right?

I grabbed my camera to charge the battery for my sessions this weekend and I had to snap a few shots of my little man.

Happy Friday, Friends.

Christmas Photo Shoot

I usually don't share our Christmas Card Photos until we send out our cards...but these just can't wait. I have to share a few of my favorites.

All week...

All week my little guy has been fighting a cold. A nasty cold.

All week I have been so busy with my real job and my side business.

All week I've wanted to open a bottle of wine before 5.

All week I've realized how awesome my son is.

All week I have been drinking gingerbread coffee. I just love winter.

All week I've thought about decorating for Christmas.

All week I've been craving chocolate.

All week I have satisfied that craving.

All week "they" talked about a Nor'Easter. On Wednesday we got it.

All week I've been thinking about buying myself a treat.

All week I've been ready for Friday to get here.

Happy Friday, Friends.

Wordless Wednesday

I took this picture last night - and for some reason he reminds me of my late Grandfather in this picture.

That's all.

Happy Wednesday.

Trick or Treat Party

What an amazing day yesterday - IV and I started off with making a t-shirt to wear for the day.

I loaded a few of his favorites - kitty, tractor, scarecrow and Curious George. He picked George...of course.

And if you haven't tried iron-on paper yet, you should. A pack of 10 sheets is only a few dollars. You just create what you want, print and iron. It's pretty easy. I used an undershirt that IV had...simple, cheap and easy.

Next up...our Trick or Treat Party:

And finally it was time to take IV out for his first Trick or Treat:

Awesome. Just awesome. That's the only way to describe our Halloween. I hope you all had a great one! Now - on to Thanksgiving!
