our Christmas Story

I think the holidays run all the way from November straight through the first of the year! And without really any stopping the days in between all run together and all you remember is the time spent with family and the love and the jokes and the stories told and made during that time. Mine was no different. My holidays started this Year the week before Thanksgiving. Sean and I were sealed in the Bountiful temple and then off we went on our honeymoon to spend our first Thanksgiving on a cruise with our brand new small family. Just him and I. followed by preparing for Christmas. We spent time with family and friends (Tina came down for the weekend to see me and that was great) We have double dated with Sean's brothers and Christmas shopped, and ate SO MUCH, and decorated our home. Got our first tree, and put up our stockings and spent more time with the Stewarts (Sean's mom and dad and the rest of the kids) at their home in Farmington. We also went up to Malad, Idaho for his mom's family's Christmas party. I have spent hours on the phone with my family talking to them and missing them too. Sean and I spent Christmas Eve and Day up at his parents house. Their traditions are so different then my family's was growing up. It was REALLY fun to see them get excited and to do their Christmas their way! I loved it! I have never seen so much wrapping paper or boxes and bows all over the floor... Enough to jump in and hide from everyone that is for sure! My family didn't do it that way. They just rip into everything and yell thank yous and move on to the next one and it is so loud and there is laughing and singing and guitars playing and it was so happy! Then breakfast for Christmas day and lunch later and family time and naps! We went sledding too and had snowball fights and it was so fun. And the whole time love emanated from everyone in the home. It was WONDERFUL! AND WHAT CHRISTMAS IS COMPLETE WITHOUT A TON OF SNOW!???? Not a Christmas in Utah that is for sure... We had so much... and it snowed more and more EVERY DAY!!

Christmas day Sean and I went home to open our presents for each other and that was wonderful! And The next day we went back to the Stewart's home. And it been great. And there is more to come this week! I can't wait for New Years!!!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!!!

I have pictures of Sean and I and our family from the Holidays coming. This is my best friend from High School Tina who came out for the weekend!!!

lets play 21 questions....

"Lauren, will you please tell me what I am getting...?? Well if I guess it can you tell me?, how about we play 21 questions.?
"okay.. start guessing Sean, and you can only ask questions that have a yes or no answer."
is it black?
no
is it blue?
no
does it light up?
yes
..........................

hahaha this went on for a while. What comes in a box that is about 4 inches long and tall? and an inch thick? And its not blue or black, and it lights up and squeaks and it is not an alarm clock, or a timer? And it can't plug into anything? And you could use it EVERY day!? Well it squeals and lights up when you whistle (or when I scream) and you can attach it to something valuable so if you loose it... you just whistle and it goes off...
a KEY FINDER!
AND HE NEVER GUESSED IT!
So I had him open that first when we got home and he was laughing so hard! And it was so fun to watch. It's a good thing too that we did it that way, FIRST. BECAUSE ever time I opened a present from him I was so excited I squealed or squeaked and it would go off. Sean did so good, he got me the perfect presents.
This was my best and most favorite Christmas ever. He is so thoughtful. And it was really fun to see him open his stuff. He is so grateful for everything I did and for all the things I got for him. he says "You listened! I said I needed long sleeves and you got me THEM! AND I LOOK GOOOOOD in them..!!! OOH I love you!" And I got him all sorts of little gadgets for his desk at school, and stuff for the gym and PJ's. I have the cutest husband. It was really fun!
OOOO AND MOM! THOSE BIG RED BOWS you thought of were PERFECT!!! I got the BEST reaction! That was the best part! ANYHOW... Christmas was wonderful!
Thanks everyone for the beautiful gifts!
Mom dad! The pictures and the movies were perfect!
and Chris and Evie! The Sewing machine was GREAT and the shirt for Sean fits SO GOOD! and all the other little things were GREAT!
AND KAYLA thanks for the boots or the rice cooker...
WE love you everyone!!

I will have pictures soon....
XOXO

WELCOME family!!!

So, last night I made my first dinner for my in-laws! Well my new set of parents. You hear horror stories about the in-law's and I have yet to see any of that... I am very blessed. Sean and I invited them over to see our cute first little home and to have dinner with us. WE GOT TO USE OUR CHRISTMAS DISHES!!! It was great, I did Hawaiian hay stacks which you do buffet style so everyone can pick out their own toppings (and since Sean is a little picky... no onions or tomatoes for him, everyone is happy) then rolls and lots of cookies for desert. Sean even jumped in and did the rice and the fruit punch, that was GREAT! So there was people everywhere (in our not so large home) and lots of noise and jokes and I am not even kidding, they broke into random song, Christmas carol's actually!!! I LOVE MY NEW FAMILY THEY ARE SO MUCH LIKE THE ONE I GREW UP WITH!!!! Dane (Sean's brother) did say that for them to REALLY be a good family, it should be a song made up on the spot and that fits perfectly together. And I think there should be a matching dance too!!! It was WONDERFUL! Can't wait to do it again. Sean and I laughed so hard all night long can't even tell you. The stories and the acting out that comes with them are REALLY good. Wish we had a video camera.

If you ever need conversation topics you just let me know, I will ask Sean what he pondered that day. This last one was about slowing time down, so he could master any sport. And he had it all planned out. And all the brothers had thought of this I guess, even their little sister's Kayla and Megan had too. I've never had that thought actually... BUT they all had. And Sean said he would be 6'3 with a 42 inch vertical (I just learned what that was) and he would slow time for everyone else and do his stuff in regular time... ALL the boys wanted this, they could play ping pong and football and ANYTHING really. OR sleep longer in the morning. Lance wanted to completely stop time and take candy from the store. He would WALK through the store while time was frozen... Brice... well I can't write what Brice said he would do. But it was funny.. Tears stung my eyes while I laughed at my family.. YES AT them. It was great.

And also you can talk about swiming suits. Taking them on and off.. at the gym or home. DEPENDING on how you feel about it. That was funny... anyhow. Over all it was a GREAT night. And we loved it.

It really was so fun for me.

anyhow.... I did it! HOLLA

Lauren, can I put the lights on?...

Sean lighting our tree...

"Lauren, can I put the lights on? I went to a store with my mom one time and a professional tree decorator told me how to put the lights on. You put them INTO the branches not on the edge it makes them look like part of the tree, and here, you start at the bottom, o let me show you" said Sean very seriously.

It was great. I sat on the couch and watched as my husband lovingly wrapped the tree in lights. From the bottom up to the top (of course not doing the back because no one sees that, and it saves more lights for the front) The whole time he was doing this he explained his motons and why he was doing it, and how the lights were going to be apart of the tree. And that the same would go for the beads. They were NOT to be on the edge, they blend with the tree! And the ORNAMENTS get to hang off.

Sean decorated most of the tree, I put on the star, crooked (he fixed it) and I put the hooks on the ornaments, and put up the bows I made, I also did the shopping for the deorations, but I loved sitting and watching him. He was so careful making sure that there was enough red and gold MIX and that it was all over and he also has been watering Fred (our tree) and moving him all over our livingroom trying to find the prefect place for him.

Thats not the best picture of the tree it really does look beautiful. Thank you Sean for taking the time to go look for the prefect tree with me. MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!

That is until.. NEXT semester rolls around! Can't wait! Actually, we did get to spend time together I just can't get enough and I seem to be selfish with Sean's time... Hmmmmmmmmm I just want to be with HIM! Not papers or books... or laptops! JUST me and my husband! Love me some of that man!

and also... we started 24.. From Season 1. For those of you who don't know what that is.. keep it to yourself, DON'T tell Sean you don't know who Jack Bauer is and that you don't have any idea what CTU does... Just know.. there are 7 seasons, 24 episodes in each season, hour by hour it goes through days. The episodes are in REAL time.
That has been our time together and I am finding myself actually looking forward to it. Sean loves it so much that it makes me curious and I have begun asking "when are we watching the next episode ....???" and getting a HUGE smile from my cute husband!
