Alex Rides a Two Wheeler!
Deedra let us borrow Garrett/Nikki's old bike for Jayden. I decided I wanted Alex to try riding a smaller bike and see if he could get the hang of it. It worked. I barely had to hang on to the seat before he was off. Armed with Helmet, gloves, and Knee pads he was confident enough to try on his own. He fell down once and got a little hurt. I convinced him to try it again and Viola! He's Awesome. We let Jayden have his bike back and tried the bigger bike. He is a little shakier on his bike, but he can do it!

Alex's first day of First Grade!
Two posts today! Scroll down for our Utah Trip
For anyone close to me they know the struggle I have with Alex and his clothes. He likes his top to match his bottoms. If his red shirt is clean he wants his red shorts clean also. (I usually try to accommodate if both are clean) The problem came when his favorite green pants got to small and also had a huge hole in the knees. I snuck and threw them out. So of coarse when we go school shopping he wants a new pair of green pants and a green bike shirt to go with it. Amazingly I found exactly what he was looking for and I found it in both green and red! Then his cute little voice tells me that this is Bike riding outfit...................
Now I know Alex, when he says this, he means he will ONLY wear it when he his riding his bike and nothing else. So we have a long talk in the dressing room about how I will only buy these clothes if he promises that he will wear them to school, and to play in and to soccer. Because I am not buying separate outfits for each activity with matching pants to go with it. He also has to promise me that he will MIX and MATCH his clothes and that Red and Green go with blue jean. YES! I will! he says. He loves the clothes. The people at Walmart must have thought I was crazy, But YOU DON'T KNOW!
So the first week of school is colors week. They are learning how to spell the colors and recognize them as sight words and can we please encourage our kids to dress according to the color of the day. The first day of school is Red..................
Alex said that he wasn't even nervous because he was just too excited. He also gets to play more games than just Starfall this year on the computer, so that is way cool.
Update: So Alex says to me this morning (Wed, 3rd day of school) "Everyone at school is saying that today is Red Day." I said, "no, according to the paper today is Yellow day." He decided that he will wear a Yellow shirt and Red shorts. I get home and check the paper. Today IS red day. So I grabbed his red shirt, and run back to the school. Slip him out of line, change his shirt, and stick him back in line before the kids even get in the school. He was the only yellow shirt in a whole line of Red shirts. He was so happy I came back with his red shirt.

Utah Trip
Stillman and the boys went to Utah for Alivia and Cory's wedding. I stayed home because I had to work. I stole these pictures from LaVern's blog. Stillman's pictures are on his phone. I also don't think he brought his phone to the wedding so I don't think he got any pictures of Alivia and Cory at the wedding. She sure was beautiful and it broke my heart that I had to miss it.

On Tuesday we went to Lagoon with Chris and Tamara. The boys had so much fun. We took turns watching the kids and riding the rides. Stillman and I got a little motion sick after hitting four roller coasters in a row. We were happy to hit the smaller rides after that. I think the best ride was watching the kids on the Roaring Rapids ride. I have to say that I one the wet t-shirt contest. Good thing I was wearing blue and not white!
Below is a mixture of pictures from the Lion House Restaurant, The Discovery Gateway, and the Planetarium.

I met up with the family at Derek and Rachel's and then we headed over to Springville to visit with Marsha and company.

There was a little rope swing that Alex loved. I let him swing over the river a few times.
We got the news that Krista had her baby. This is a celebration pose!

| We missed the show last year. We made sure we made it this year. Jayden was tickled whenever one of the singers would flirt with him. |

We bought a one day visit Salt Lake City pass and went to a few favorite spots again.

July
Okay so these pictures are all out of order, but that is kinda what July was like. We had lots of fun!! We took a week and spent it at the Cabin. I think half my pictures from Cabin week are on my moms computer, So I'll have to do a part two later.
We let off a few of our fireworks early, and we made sure that we brought plenty of sparklers for everyone.
This is the kids at Settlers Park. We went almost every Friday to watch the movie in the park. It was awesome. I think this is great family activity. It so fun to snuggle under the stars and watch a great movie. The Firemen came this day and the kids got to climb in a fire truck and then we went through their fire house to learn about fire safety.
Now we are really getting out of order. We took the kids golfing with Gma and Gpa Lipsh. We have to do this at least once a year. We also took Alex to his first Lazer Tag game. Except for getting lost one time, It was the best game EVER! according to Alex. It was like a real life video game.
We made Jason try watermelon. It was like pulling teath. He finally admitted that it wasn't "As Bad" as last time he ate it. I think he was 8.
The kids got this toy in a happy meal and then............
Pretended to be JOKEY!!! This is their impersination of a present on your head.......
More Cabin Pictures..........
Nicky and Alex wanted to go on a nature walk. So we collected wild flowers. Again I got the "BEST DAY EVER"
Getting ready for fireworks in McCall. Next time we will have to go earlier. They had a lot of stuff to do that night. It would have been fun to be able to look around a bit. We got a great spot.
We usually try and make it into the pancake house when we spend our vacation at the Cabin. This time the wait was going to be an hour long. So we made our reservation for 11(I think) and called Derek and Rachel to come join us. We got the kids a huge cookie to tie them over. They didn't complain.
These are a few of his favorite things.......His Bike, His Bear, and His Duck....... All in one fun activity
Getting ready for the Movie in the park.......
This is the time when we took Nicky and Garrett. I couldn't get a great picture either time.
August will be posted tomorrow along with first day of school pictures!!
