A new chair too!
Here is the project Stillman took on. We no longer have a chaise lounge. It was too hard to work into any room. For years we have been talking about just hacking off the end. Well, Stillman did it. He cut the middle off and attached the end board to the New end and then we just took the extra material and reapolstered it. Sounds easy right. Right. but he did it and it looks pretty good too.

Santa came early!
We took the kids to see Santa at the mall. In fine print under the pictures prices it says that "if you are taking your own pictures please limit them to two". So we snapped a few pictures. Alex was so excited to see him and then of course, true to nature, clammed up when he was face to face. He sat on Santa's lap with a cute grin and in a whisper barley audible asked for a blue car. Jayden loved Santa and reached up to play in his beard. he wasn't scared at all. So if you want free pictures of your kids and Santa you can go to the Boise Towne Square Mall and take two.
Also Stillman's work gave him a Christmas bonus and we were able to buy this new sectional at a steal on craigslist. It is so comfortable. We rearranged the front rooms and now the green couches are in the living room and the sectional is in the front room. It looks good. you should come by and see it. Stillman has taken on a project that we have been planning to do for years and is turning our chase lounge into a regular chair so that it can fit better. I will post that project later.

Tradition
Ti's the season for tradition. When Heather posted her post about her ornaments it reminded me of all of our traditions. So I was wondering what traditions you have. So post your traditions here in the comments or on your own blog.
My Grandma use to dress up as Santa Claus and we got to open a gift on Christmas Eve from "Santa's Helper". We continued the tradition when we moved to California. One year we were looking at pictures of us opening our presents and realized how ratty we looked. So that year we decided that on Christmas Eve we would open Pajamas. That way we looked cute on Christmas day. Stillman and I continued this on into our own little family.

One year all of our ornaments, stockings and decorations were stolen out of our rental shed along with some other things, by a bum who was living in the sheds. What wasn't stolen was burned by the fire he was using to keep warm. He was not hurt, we later saw him walking down the street in my mom's white furn coat. So Mom and I went to Costco in Reno and each bought one set of these beautiful white ornaments, some white lights, and some beads and bows. Brigitte and I had some ballerina ornaments that were not in the shed. That's all we had on our tree that year. So we decided that every year we would get an ornament in our stocking, so we could replace what was lost. Stillman and I do this also and when the kids are old enough to get married they will have 18+ ornaments to hang on their own tree.

Our last tradition is the twelve days of Christmas. We give a Twelve piece Nativity the twelve day before Christmas. This is my favorite because it helps bring the true meaning of Christmas to the foreground. last year we chose a family that was having a hard time. It was a Grandma who took care of her grandchildren full time. They were in our old ward and when we moved out I kept getting the feeling that I needed to do something for them. I pushed the thought aside because I didn't know how to get a hold of them as I new they were forced to move out of their apartment. When low and behold we were speaking in our new ward and I saw I them sitting on the back bench. We decided to do them for the twelve days of Christmas. on the Last day there was a note thanking us for the Nativity saying how they had lost theirs in the move. Over the next year she bore her testimony 3 times about her Christmas angels, never knowing we were sitting in the room with her.
So I would love to here your Christmas traditions.

Thanksgiving Weekend
Well it was a pretty fun week for us. Stillman had the whole week off! It was nice to be able to spend all that time together. Our Thanksgiving weekends are traditionally the same. We have Dinner, then we watch the last home game of the season, and then we celebrate Stillman's Birthday. We had Thanksgiving at Michelle's families house this year It was sooooo yummy. We are still having cravings. We watched a couple of Christmas movies, The parade, and some football. Then we went over to Stillman's families house for games and an early Christmas present (Thanks LaVerne I have been wanting one), and to plan our early morning shopping spree. We woke up at four, bundled the kiddo's up and went to get some killer deals. it was pretty fun!
It was a weekend of first for Jayden. His first Thanksgiving and his first football game. You can see the crowd rushing the field after the game. Don't worry Jayden was warmer than all of us. He cried for the first quarter. Slept through the 2nd and 3rd. And was awake and happy for the the 4th. when it was surprisingly warmer.
Happy 28th Stillman!! Stillman traditionally gets one of his presents a day early as he always asks for something BSU, and I would hate for him not to get to use it for at least one game. This year it was a stadium seat. Maybe some year he can get season tickets. We love you Daddy, Happy Birthday!

Friends of our came down for the holiday weekend. It was great to see them again!

Updates, Pictures and Videos
Well Mr. Jayden has decided to stand. He is quite proud of himself and pulls up on everything. The other day while I was on hold with the Dr. office he decided to do it without holding on to anything for several seconds. I am sure walking is just around the corner. He is a speed demon when it comes to crawling. He has a funny way crawling. He will cruise on his hands and knees and every once in a while he will use his feet to push himself faster.
I have joined a FHE packet exchange group. This group has really helped us start doing FHE regularly. This week the lesson was on Thanksgiving. We are doing the Twelve days of thanksgiving. Each day we "pluck" one of turkey's feathers. On one side it tells us what we are thankful for and on the other it tells us an activity to do that relates to that thing we are thankful for. This is Alex making one of Daddy's favorite treat. Muddy Buddies.

I Voted!
We are watching channel seven news and we decide that we better get down there and vote before it gets too crowded. Michelle says "does my hair look OK" Stillman says "to go vote, yes it looks fine" So we head down to vote and while I am voting a bright light comes on and I hear the news channel seven gal start doing her broadcast. We turn around and sure enough we are on T.V. We then get lots of phone calls telling us that they can see us on t.v. We took full advantage and showed off our cute little boy. Our other cute little boy was sitting in the stroller. very tired.
update: we just got to watch the replay on 24 7 and Alex was on TV as well.
You can view the video at http://www.ktvb.com/video/index.html?nvid=299945

Halloween Party!
Well our halloween party went off without a hitch. The weather was perfect. We didn't even get the projected rain. We had a delicious dinner of Soup Salad and Weiner Wraps. We played Bobbing for Donuts, and had a pinata. It was great fun. We then took the kids Trick or Treating. Before halloween I had discussed with Alex safty rules for trick or treating. It was all in vain as he entered every house that had a cute puppy. It was hard to get him out of the houses as the hord of kids that were blocking the doors. At one house even the men got a little treat. I will leave that to your imagination. you would have thought we were trick or treating a hugh Heffners house. Jayden slept through his first Halloween, but woke up after every one left and was even happy enough to try on his costume to take a picture with his parents and check out his goodie bag. Good thing I reused Alex's old costume. We then went to Deedra's house and watched Wait Till Dark. It was great ending to a spooky night! Hope everyone had a safe Halloween!

Killer Whales and Chocolate
So Twice in the last month I have had dreams of killer whales. The first time we were in some sort of river canyon. Something like the Grand Canyon. In a sort of rock cave. The river is very deep and there are three Orcas swimming in the river. Stillman is down very close and they keep tapping him with there noses. I keep telling him that he needs to not stand so close to them. They keep tapping him and I am stressing out that he is not listening to me because I know that Orcas play with their food first........ and then Jayden cries and I wake up.
The second dream our garage is a pool and we have an Orca as a pet. The Orca can talk to me. We can swim with it, but I don't let Alex swim with it. When we are in our van the orca pushes us around our garage-pool.......and then Jayden cries and I wake up.
So I looked up what it means to dream about orcas, Not that I put much, or any stock in that sort of stuff. Dream of Orcas and it means that you are going to have good luck, you are completely satisfied with your life, or you do not trust your protector. So I must be completely satisfied in not trusting my protector....nope doesn't sound right.....must be good luck!
Or maybe Alex found my Orca blanket and has been sleeping with it on the floor next to my bed.
Oh and I learned today that eating dark chocolate can help with breast cancer. So in honor of breast cancer awareness month eat some dark chocolate!

Linder Farms
We took the kids to Linder Farms on Saturday. Mostly just for an October type experience. We didn't actually do the corn maze, but the kids had fun doing the other stuff they have there. Alex loved the hay bale maze he ran through about five times. They had a Hayride that we rode out to the petting Zoo and to pick out a pumpkin out of a pumpkin patch that was just his size. Alex called everything that he didn't recognise a llama. "No that's a Camel." "No that's an Oxen."Yes, That is a llama." Alex was very excited to see a zebra and a camel in real life. His favorite thing was the cow ride train. we only ended up spending about $4.00. We also ran into some familiar faces. while we were sitting on the hayride Tamara found us! In the end Alex could not find a pumpkin that was small enough to be just his size so he settled on a gourd. He carries it everywhere, and is very concerned about the fate of his pumpkin come Halloween. I told him he does not have to carve his pumpkin, but that trust me gourds do not live forever. I tried saving a couple of gourds two years ago in an air tight bin. Not smart. I ended up having to throw everything in that bin away.
Choose the right!

This Pumpkin is evidently to large for a three year old.
A rarity to catch an infant smiling for a camera
