Another one bites the dust

Here's another finish for you all. It's the 2008 scissor fob which I actually did start in 2008...I just didn't finish it until this week. There was supposed to be ribbon attached to the outside of this but the stuff that came in my kit was pink and didn't match the fob *at all*. So I changed it to a twisted cording. I just happened to have the correct colour in my stash. How lucky is that??

I don't think I've mentioned this before but I started Weight Watchers back in January. So far, I've lost 4.5 kg. I've done WW many times before but this time is different. I seem to have my head in a different place & everything seems to be clicking. So I'll post a pic when I'm thin LOL. In the last 2 weeks, I've started walking. This is a big change for me...I never do any exercise (haven't you ever noticed that most stitchers are fat??? LOL). Anyway, this morning, I cracked the 4.8 km p/hour mark and I'm very happy with that! I'm not sure I can see any results on my body but I can certainly see how I've improved my fitness. I use http://www.mapmyrun.com/ to track my walks...it shows me how far I've walked and the speed plus kilojoules burned. I love it!

Boo!

This was the travel project I took to Melbourne. I started it on the plane and made a little mistake....I centred the design as you do but didn't realise that this one was supposed to be started 2" up from the bottom edge. Oops! So mine is a little high and I had to fudge the ribbon rows but it came out OK. A very quick stitch...I did a bit in Melbourne & the rest on the plane home. Just had to do the back-stitch, beads and hem stitching when I got back.

Another finish

This is the 4th & last of the shop exclusives that I have. Well, actually...I still have the 2008 fob to finish off but I don't count that as a proper shop exclusive. This one was stitched in an hour and a half, not counting coffee and toilet breaks LOL.

The final of the three

Wow...I had this post all typed up and ready to go and then I lost it. Bummer. So let's try again!

I can't believe it's been almost three weeks since I last blogged. But since I've had nothing to show, that's really no surprise. I've been a bit slack in the stitching department plus I went to Melbourne last week for 4 days shopping. But anyway, here is Mistress Mary all done. Please excuse the wonky photo. I just put the mat over the top of the stitching & only noticed how wonky it was when I went to edit it.

Finished: 20th March 2009

I have also found the other shop exclusive that I knew I had somewhere. It's Merry Day. I've decided I will stitch it up too plus I have a couple of other small pieces to finish up (2008 SB fob & Halloween Treat Bag) so once they are all stitched and finished, I will get back to the Mantelpiece thingie.

Another one down

Here's the second of my SB shop exclusives. This one is stitched on Country Mocha linen which is gorgeous, soft and easy to stitch with. The other piece was done on Lambswool which was stiff, scratchy & not to my liking. Amazing how the linen can make such a difference to how you feel about something.

It's very appropriate that I post this pic today as it's the first day of Autumn. Not that you can tell LOL as it's still warm (not hot) and none of the leaves have started to turn. But it has been cooling down in the evening so that's nice.
