Having Caleb a part of our life has been a total joy! In his first month he snuggled right into our family. He slept a lot, grew a lot and got a pacifier...a bigger deal for his Mama than for him, because before Caleb, I didn't really want to use pacifiers with my babies. But, after a lot of good research (of which Jared is the KING!!) we learned a lot about my milk supply. Lets just say that if milk were gold, we'd be set for a thousand life times. :) So, I nursed laying on my back (they call it "the Australian hold"...get it? :), expressed gallons of milk daily (only a slight exaggeration), nursed on one side for up to 10 hours (that's how long it took to get to empty!) and...we got a pacifier (or 6 :) so he could be pacified without over eating. Along with a huge supply, my milk tends to flow at a pretty amazing rate. And despite all my efforts to decrease supply and diminish the flow, there was still a lot of gulping, air in the belly and over feeding. Hence, Caleb had a rather fussy first couple of months, just like his sister and brother before him. I had told Jared I didn't want to bounce one more bounce on an exercise ball as I'd spent about 4 years bouncing babies on a ball. :) So, when Caleb required quite a bit of soothing as well, I rocked and walked and rocked and walked, but all in vain...very fussy, often crying baby. I spent a few days bouncing on the edge of the bed and at that point Jared finally convinced me to relent and let him bring an exercise ball home. Thankfully, the ball and the binki did the trick and we had a soothed baby on our hands most of the time. One of my favorite memories of that first month was how Caleb would kick his springy little legs out as straight as can be like a ski jumper. Too cute and funny! Wish I had a picture of that, but here are some moments we did capture. Oh, how time flies. Babies grow so quickly! Caleb was the sweetest little newborn!

Caleb loves his big sister! He gave her his first smile. She loves to tell how one time, during those first few weeks, Jared tried to take him from her and he cried. :)

The Stubblefield boys! :)

Caleb and Grandma just 2 days after he was born.

I love this photo, so candid and sweet. Jared's Mom sure loves her Grandbabies!

This was the night of the super sweet and lovely baby shower that my Young Women and the RS threw for me. I loved every moment of it and now that we have moved it is even more special to me to have had that night with my dear Yuba City friends.

We celebrated Caleb's first month birthday by going to our Ward Picnic. :)
Here he is all ready to go. What a cutie pie! :)
