9 months

Well sweet little Camden is nearing his 10 month mark, but I haven't blogged in many many months.  I don't really have time now, but here I am.  Dallin had to make a timeline of his life for homework yesterday and I couldn't remember any dates, so we pulled up the blog and that's what reminded me how wonderful it is to have as a record.  So here I am.

Camden LOVES table food and will eat anything and everything I will give him as long as he can feed himself.  I'm still nursing him and probably will wean him in the next couple of months.  He's crawling everywhere, cruising and climbing the stairs.  He tries so hard to keep up with Devin and when Devin isn' being too rough they are super cute together!  (Devin had a bad day with him a couple of days back--Camden ended up with a bloody mouth twice in the same day--not a happy momma)

Well, life is good--really good.  Crazy, chaotic, can't catch my breath, no time to do anything, house always needs a good scrub, but good.  This is definitely a busy busy time, but at least we only have 2 in diapers now.  Devin was trained (day and night) back in April and he has done so well.  Camden really is a dream baby. We still have food allergies we are trying to work through, but he is congenial and mellow and happy and wonderful.  Emily is growing up way too fast--just started deodorant--oh boy!  Also, on her field trip yesterday the kids were all playing some game called OREO and they end up asking each other to "go" with them.  Yes, she was asked.  Yes, she said "NO!" and Yes, I am so happy.

Dallin was baptized on his birthday, which was wonderful and he is full of crazy boy antics, but we sure love him.  Kylie is slowly improving SSSSSLLLLLOOOOOWWWWLLLYYYY!!!!!  One teeny tiny victory at a time.  I hope she can stay in her school, we love it.

David, things at work have really turned around and we are so grateful!!

Ok, I really need to clean my house now...

3 months

Camden turned 3 months last week and he is soooo big!  I took him to the doctor today for the rest of his 2 month shots.  (I break them up, so he never gets more than 2 pokes at a time--I don't like putting that much chemical in him at once.) He also, had to be seen by the doctor to check his diaper.  He's had poop issues for a long time now.  Well, after 2 months of me being off of all dairy and soy and oatmeal and chocolate and ... (it seems like everything), the microscopic blood in his stool is virtually gone.  Barely detectable.  It took 3 nurses inspecting the test to make a barely positive conclusion.  This is great!  I get to keep nursing!!  Also, my sweet son is doing remarkably well.  He is a whopping 17 pounds.  (He was 17lb 4oz with clothes on) and happy and content.  I love him.  We all love him and even though he was a huge surprise we are so very glad that he is here!!!

blessing day

Well, a week ago we blessed our sweet little Camden.  Grandmas and Grandpas came along with 2 aunts and 2 uncles and 4 cousins.  It was a great day full of food and family and the Spirit.  David's birthday was the day before, which unfortunately was filled with errands and cleaning the house for everyone to come.  We did order a pizza for dinner on Saturday, but I felt really bad for him.  We can't exactly drag our brood out to dinner.  We did have respite care at Kylie's school last Thursday so we went out to dinner then with just Camden and that was nice.  Sunday, August 26th (his 1 month bday), the day of the blessing was also, Grandma Pomeroy's birthday, so there was plenty of cake to go around!

Other news on the Camden front.  He is a whopping 11lb 13oz and that was almost a week ago, so I am sure he is well over 12lbs by now.  He is so good.  He sleeps like a dream and wakes up and smiles and coos and is just so darn happy.  He only cries when he is tired or wants to be held.  Knowing me, I worry because he's too good that something is wrong instead of just enjoying the blessing that he is.

He and Emily are both sick right now--boo!  She is throwing up and he has it coming from the other end.  Hopefully they will all get over it soon!  Also, school started last week and both kiddos are doing great so far and truly enjoying their teachers.  They both have kids from church in their classes, which is nice and they and I were ready to get back into some routines.  Emily has 3 teachers this year for 4th grade, Ms Fox for Science, Mrs Jones for Math and Mrs Strube for ELA and Social Studies.  Dallin has Mrs Rosenzweig, who is new this year, but seems pretty great so far.

Well, that's about it.  David has the other 3 non sick kiddos at the pool, I am writing this instead of exercising (not good) and happy Labor day to you!

Heather made the beautiful blanket they are on. This is Camden and Natalie another girl in the ward that was blessed last week.
 I love camden's look like, " HELP!"
 The whole family
All of my cute kids!  I can't believe I have so many!
And the best picture I got of the two of them on the first day of school!

2 weeks

Well, apparently his latching issues have not created any growing problems.  Camden was born at 8lb 11oz.  4 days later he had dropped down to 8lb 6oz.  Today we headed to the doctor (11 days later) and he is 9lb 13oz.  Wowza!  This kids put on a pound and a half in a week and a half.  Good job little buddy!

Camden

Camden Nathan Pomeroy
arrived on Thursday, July 26th at 2:27pm.
He weighed in at 8lb 11oz and was 22 inches long.
He's big!!

We went to the hospital that morning at the crazy hour of 4am.  I was one day past my due date and I was completely sick of being pregnant.  I had really really wanted to go into labor on my own, but after 5 kids I'm not sure why I thought it would work this time.  So, I was induced.  The thought was that they would start the pitocin around 5 am and Dr. McDonald would come and break my water around 7 and we would see baby around 9.  HA!

Things never work out the way we plan.  My doctor called the hospital at 7 to make sure that I was there and all was well before she came over.  Some new secretary at the hospital told her I wasn't there---awesome. So, around 9 they gave me my epidural.  I was a 3.5 and barely progressing.  I never do anything without my water being broken.  I started getting really ticked and bored and started complaining to the nurse about my doctor and so at 10 she finally called Dr. McDonald's office.  Dr.M immediately showed up and was really ticked at the hospital staff.  However, at least this go around I did decide to do an epidural.  I've had only had one and that was with Kylie and it didn't go well.  This time, I was just so tired and didn't have it in me to push through.  (Typically, I get a pain killer the last 45 minutes or so).  So, as bored as I was, I wasn't feeling a darn thing which was awesome.  It was really weird to not know if I was contracting or not.  I never pushed the little button to up the medicine.  It was great.  They kept assuring me that yes I was contracting and I sat straight up to help him move down, because he wasn't.  At around 2pm my doctor called back to check on my progress.  My nurse who is also a midwife came in and I had started to feel some of the normal pressures of delivery time, but they were so faint from what I was used to that I hadn't reported them.  Anyway, she had me push him down and Dr.M came quick.  Now as much as I didn't feel the contractions--I FELT the pushing.  This was a big kid and I had to push way more than normal, but he is here and we are so so so so so grateful!!!!!

We left the hospital on Friday night and I won't lie it's been rough since we got home.  In case any of you are reading this and have less than 5 kids, even with both parents home, 5 kids is a LOT!  But we are doing the best we can and adjusting as best as we can.  Nursing is not going well.  He has some latching issues so I have some major major pain issues.  The pediatrician talked me through some things at his check up yesterday.  I am trying, but honestly miserable.  However, the first couple of weeks postpartum are always rough--we're 5 days into it and hopefully nursing will right itself soon and I can feel better.

At his check up all was well.  He has dropped down to 8lb 6oz, not too bad and I'm sure he'll be right where he was and beyond very soon.  He is happy and really good so far.  The other kiddos are enchanted with him, Kylie is curious, David and I are tired, but we're here, our family is complete and that is a good feeling.
