Preschool

Well it has been a very long time since we have jotted down our Kylie tales, so here it goes.  Life with Kylie and the other two is pretty good.  Kylie goes to physical therapy once a week and she has an occupational therapist that comes to the house once a week.  Every few weeks she is scheduled for one of her many specialists (cardiology, urology, nephrology, surgeon, and genetics) but those are slowly beginning to slow down in frequency.  Thank goodness!  Her regular pediatric visits are slowing down also.  She weighs in at 10lb. 11oz as of a week ago and she is much more active and playful than before.

On to other family news:  Emily started preschool on September 4th.  Oh, how she loves it!  I get full detail every day she attends as to what she did, what she sang and who got in trouble.  Dallin on the other hand has had quite a problem adjusting to her being gone three mornings a week.  He asks where she is over and over and begs to go with her.  So, Emily this morning informed Dallin and me that there were indeed two year olds at school and so Dallin needed to go with her to preschool today.  I tried to tell her no that I wanted him to stay with me and she insisted that she had met a girl last week who said she was two, so Dallin could come.  A child’s world is so simple. J  Money honey, it takes money…

Here is a picture of her first day

David’s birthday was last month and we celebrated by having some friends over and also, thanks to his family went out to Pappadeaux—always his first choice.  We also celebrated our 6th anniversary by going down to Galveston for the day and then we ate dinner and had fun at Kemah afterwards.  We kept the kids with us and just made it a family day.  I haven't been to comfortable with the idea of leaving Kylie.

The kids are all getting along better too, for the most part.  Emily always has to kiss us all good-bye as she is helped out of the car to attend preschool.  It can be quite a long drawn out process, so I have learned to let her unbuckle herself while we are in line to drop her off, to speed things up a bit.  Preschool has also brought a very unwelcome thing to our family--a cold.  Everyone, but good ole mom, has had it bad the last few days.  I swear I have wiped more noses in the last week than I care to in a year!  But that is what is all about isn't it?

Dallin still insists that Kylie’s little soft splints are hurting her and he tries his best to always take them off when I leave the room.  He is a feisty little kid, but he is full of love.

Jeff and Ramona, David's brother and sister in law came for a visit this summer too.  It was great for our kids to get a chance to see their cousins and catch up with family.
