Rocky

As some of you know my dear husband has a bit of an obsession with Rocky. He loves it. So, I have a little tradition (when I am pregnant) of shopping the day I find out what the gender is of the baby. This go around, I bought a cute little romper (that he has already out grown) and this Rocky onesie that I knew David would love. Anyway, it is just starting to fit our little man. The first morning I got him dressed in it, David was so excited that he played with him for a minute before heading of to work. Well, here's the little guy. Enjoy the sneeze!

words

Ok, two quick things: When Devin was born Dallin had really wanted to name him Brayden. We had talked about that name quite a bit, but in the end went with Devin (obviously). Anyway, the first couple of days that Devin was home from the hospital, Dallin refused to call him Devin. He even cried about it and he even called him Brayden during that time. Having a new sibling stresses kids out in weird ways...

Next, Emily my little bookworm, loves to read and learn and eavesdrop on any possible adult conversation. She also keeps trying to increase her vocabulary, which is great. However, today she said something that I found so cute I didn't even correct her. She had warmed up a hotdog in the microwave--because that's what it has come to around here. Then she was trying to put the hotdog in the bun, but found it too hot. So, she yelled to me (I was not in the kitchen), "I'll just use the croutons."
I knew immediately what she was going to do, but I found it awesome that she is still a little kid despite all of her best efforts to be grown-up.
She was going to get the wooden tongs to move the hot dog. Cute kid.

Blessing Day

We blessed our sweet Devin on Sunday. It was so fun to have both sides of the family together for the occasion. Even my grandfather was visiting. His wife passed away about 2 months ago. He's moving to an assisted living place this week and so he did a little traveling before that. I am so grateful that he and Devin were able to meet. I do believe they were smitten with each other. The blessing was beautiful and wonderful and so full of happiness. I am so grateful for the power of the Priesthood and for the blessing of having this sweet little boy in our family.

This is Devin's actual blessing outfit, but it was so hot that he got down to just the onesie once we got home.

Well, the older two kiddos are in Vacation Bible School this week so it's a little quiet around here right now. It's nice. Kylie woke up this morning at 6 something and woke up Emily by banging her head against the wall. Plus her feeding pump broke last night so we've had to bolus (through a syringe) her milk to her through out the night. Well, when she woke up early David put her in her jumper while the older kids and I slept and David got ready for work. She started screaming, so, I went to get her and then she threw-up all over herself (too much milk too fast and jumping I guess--bad combo) so I bathed her and then she peed all over our bedroom carpet. No worries she crashed on my bed at about 7:30am until about 8:30. Wow she is a handful--so it's nice that even though she is here, she is being good and it is quiet right now...
We start swim lessons this afternoon and we have leftovers from our big meal last night and as always I need a nap!

School's out!

Well, summer is here and we are trying to enjoy a quiet and calm few months. Having 3 kids in 3 different schools the last month and a half has been a bit rough with a new baby, but even though there is tons of chaos having four little ones at home all day, it is still very nice to not have such a rigorous schedule. So here are some updates with pictures.

Devin is now 2 months old and the sleep habits aren't quite as rosy as before. He's been fairly erratic and has even spent a couple of nights in the swing, all night, which does give us a many hours of quiet. Overall, he is a super easy and happy baby and I just love him to pieces. Some stats: He is weighing in at 13.6 lbs and is still as squishy as ever. I love squishy babies. Also, ever since we got his tongue clipped he has put on some more weight, I think he is nursing more efficiently now. He's sporting a really great belly!

Dallin finished up t-ball now. It was a fun season, but really bad timing with such a little one. Here he is with his coach at their end of season party.

Dallin graduated from Preschool and they put on a really cute presentation with songs and graduation caps--it's hard to believe he will start kindergarten so soon. (As I am typing this Dallin just informed me that if he touches the front part of his pants--it's wet. "Did you pee your pants?" I asked. "Maybe." Really, Maybe. --good luck Miss Kindergarten teacher!)

Ok, so here is the Joy School crew...man I love all these kiddos.

And me and my little man.

Emily had her 1st grade awards ceremony. She won the integrity award for her class and that made me proud. There were other awards for her too, but that meant the most. Good job little lady. Here is a picture of her and her friend Alice. Alice helped her a lot this year, by being her friend and playing with her when some little clicks started to form and Emily found herself shut out from her best friend Kate for a time. We had several sad weeks. I hate how it starts so young.

Some of the sweet girls in her class.

And finally her two 1st grade teachers. She had a pretty fun year and we'll see what 2nd grade brings!
