Last Saturday, we went down town for brunch. We went to St. Lawrence Food Market. When I being told the name of the place, I thought it would be something like wet markets in Malaysia. I did not see any wet markets here because most people buy their grocerries at hypermarket or small convenient stores. The hypermarkets are as big as " Qiant " in Malaysia, there are a lot of them in Toronto.
On the subway, his sister told me that there is a place with a lot of good food. My interest towards to market increase sharply, and keep imagining how the market is. we took half an hour to reach there.
When I entering the food market, I could see there were many people lining up in front of the food stalls, sitting on the bench while eating, and walking around. It is a very busy market with a lot of food stalls. We managed to find a seat and then we bought our food separately. We could find different type of food there. There are chinese food, French food, Greek food, western food and so on. The food is nice, I like the huge burger the most. There are many ingredients in the huge burger; it is very big. It is impossible to bite the whole thing with our mouth. I like the smoothy too. We ordered a Today's special drink which is strawberry banana smoothy. The combination of the fruits is very tasty. I thought to make it at home because the straberries here are very cheap but the banana is very expensive.
After the brunch, we walked to the biggest shopping complex- Eaton Centre. It is not as big as 1-Utama, Mid valley in Malaysia. Basically I do not have much things to buy because I had bought a lot in Malaysia before I come. However, I would like to buy some skirts and shorts. I was so happy to see a nice skirt and shorts, but the smallest size they have is big for me. After shopping for 2 hours, I found that I cant have shopping in Canada because the sizes here are relatively too big for me.

Mah Jong
Normally, people would know when do they start learning something. For example, somebody would remember that they started reading when they were at 4 years old or somebody would remember that they started playing piano at whatever age. However, I could not remember when I started learning and playing Mah Jong. Mah Jong has become my family tranditional game, because all of my family members are very well at playing Mah Jong. The family members include my grandfather, uncles , aunties, cousins, basically is everybody in Tang family. The two babies who aged 3 and 4 years old can named the some tiles of Mahjong (North, south , east west and so on)
I like playing Mah Jong, especially with my family. We have all sort of fun and happiness while earning or losing money. I thought I would not have chance to play Mahjong after I come to Canada. Surprisingly, my dear has a MahJong set that is borrowed from his friend. The Mah Jong is different from the one we have in Malaysia. It is from Shang Hai, the tiles are very small and half of a tile are made in bamboo. They are only 8 flowers and no joker tiles. Luckily they are a lot of " wan zi" and " Shuo zi " so we can simply replaced them and have a normal 3 people Mah Jong.
Mingz's family did not play Mah Jong. We slowly taught them and finally they can play without relying on somebody. Although they are not very good and slow, I still like playing with them and teach them patiently because playing Mah Jong make me feel good because I could recall my nice memory about Mah jong.

Monopoly and Scrable
I did not online and blog recently because I was busy with something.
1st- I was busy with my laptop. I bought a laptop online and received it on Saturday. My dear was the one who busiest with the laptop because it has a lot of problems. The card reader is not working as the previous laptop, the windows starting up is as slow as 3 minutes, the loading of games is slow, there are errors popping out sometimes. However, we managed to solve to problems by searching information online, and we do not need to return it. Returning the laptop will waste the delivery fees $20. If there is no other problems later, this laptop is really a best buy. It is $ 800 after tax, the features is almost the same as the previous 17 inch laptop , but this is 15inch and cheaper.
2nd- My dear bought 2 new board games home. There are monopoly and Scrabble. I hated playing Scrabble because I knew I am poor at vocabulary. I hated it so much until I cant even recall when was my last Scrabble game, or may be I did even play it before. My sis told me that we owned a Scrabble board game at home, but I refused to play with her always. Mingz bought a Scrabble dictionary so we can check the availability of words that we can think of. It is useful because I do not have confidence on my words forming. So after all, I did not hate the game, but I enjoyed playing it because I think I will slowly improve my vocabulary by playing it.
3rd- Monopoly. I like Monopoly game since I was very young. I remembered that I saved my pocket money just to buy a set of monopoly which costs me Rm 20 something. During the last few days, we had 3 monopoly games. I do not enjoy so much because I always lose to my dear. I think it is because he knows very well and he talk very well. He can persuade people to trade with him so he can build houses and hotels. However, he never give me a good deal and make me lose. I always grumpy and unhappy during the games, so I decided not to play it always.
4th- I was busy learning piano. I downloaded the movie " Secret" which directed by Jay Chou. After watching the movie, we start searching the music sheets online. Luckily, we found the music sheet of a duet song, which played by " xiao yu" and Jay in the movie. It is a nice song, but it is quite difficult to play. I hoped my dear can play the song with me.
5th- I was busy reading books. My dear borrowed 6 books from library last week, I finished reading 3 of them.
6th- His sister( Li Ying) and I decided to go to gym every alternate days for 30 minutes. I enjoyed working out because there is a TV in the gym room, we watch Food Channel while doing exercises. The food looks so delicious until we forgot the tiredness of our body and motivated us. Yesterday, the chef in the tv program cooked a fillet-potato-tomato dish. It is pretty easy, the ingredients are easy to get. It looked so delicious until we quickly ran to the market to buy those ingredients and cooked it as dinner. It turned out well and we really enjoyed it.
Lastly, I enclosed a picture of our Scrabble game. We managed to play with only 2 letters left, which means the other 198 letters are formed in words and linked together. It was really a nice game.

Lo Bak Gou
Ming Sheng's breakfast is always the same thing. 2 half boiled eggs, 2 breads with Jam, and a cup of Milo.
Yesterday, I was bored, I decided to make something for his breakfast. After flipping pages of a recipe book, I decided to make Lo Bak Gou. All the ingredients are easy to get or available in the fridge. I remembered I made Lo Bak Gou at home in Malaysia, but it was sometime ago and usually my aunt would prepare everything. Therefore, this is my first time making it by myself.
First, I had to prepare all the ingredients. I found that there is no food weighing machine at Mingz's house. All the portion of ingredients in the recipe book is based on their weight. I had no choice but I could only measure their weight with the use of my hands. I placed a 400g rice flour on my left hand for 30 seconds, then I replaced it with some white carrots. It could tell whether it is lighter or heavier. This was repeating until I got the same weight with the 400g flour.
I spent 3 hours for making a big plate of Lo Bak Gou. I was happy that my dear and his family like it. They finished half of it that night, and the whole cake is finished by the next day.

Say good bye to my laptop
I was very happy to own a HP Pavillion DV9834, I like it even better after I used it for 3 days. I was happy because the laptop is really good enough for me, it has an integrated webcam and mic , remote control and so on. Unfortunately, I found the integrated card reader is not working, Mingz had call to the technical support for assistance. After 4 hours of consultancy, the card reader is not working still. We decided to give up and return it for money. This is a policy in Canada, where you can return back items you bought and get back your money. We sent back the laptop to the shop and got back $ 1000.
I was quite sad for sending it back, because I really like it very much, I was afraid I cant find another one which is better than this. I suggested to get back the same model but he afraid that the problem happens on all the same model.
At night, he bought another laptop online. It is a refurnished laptop, so it is very cheap. It was supposed to be $ 1200 but since it is a refurnished product, it is now only $ 699. According to him, the features of this laptop is almost the same with the previous one. However, there has no integrated webcam and mic, it is 15", and the hardisk capacity is a bit smaller. My birthday celebration
14th of July is my birthday. I have been asked how my dear celebrated birthday with me, so I decided to write this in my blog.
My dear is not a romantic person, I did not expect any surprise from him. I am happy enough if he can remember my date of birth. He did not disappoint me, he was the first person who wished me happy birthday while the clock strike at 12am on 14th. Moreover he was the last person who wished me when it is 11.59pm on 14th July.
I expected this birthday would have no presents, no birthday song and everything. However, I was wrong, I got 4 surprises on this birthday. First, I found a little gift in the washroom while I was brushing teeth after I woke up. It is from Li Ying, Ming Sheng's sister. It is a pair of ear rings with a lot of hanging stars. It was a lovely morning, I on my laptop and chat with my family. My second surprise was when my whole family was there to wish me and sing birthday song in front of the web cam. I was surprise because I knew they were having connection problem, they did not online for sometimes.
In the afternoon, I was quite bored at home. Li Ying suddenly suggested to bake a tofu chocolate cake. She thought it would be good to have a cake on my birthday. Both of us started to prepare the ingredients and make the batter by following the instruction of a recipe book. After an hour, the cake was ready. It was a failure because it was too soft and uncooked at the heart of the cake. However, I was happy because I have a cake on my birthday although it was not a very good one.
In the evening, his family and I went to a Chinese restaurant at china town for dinner. The dinner was to celebrate my birthday and as a farewell with their father, who is going back to Malaysia the next day. At about 7.30pm, the whole restaurant was fulled of people. I was so excited when our first dish was sent onto the table. It was a dish of big lobsters. The food was very delicious, there were fruits and " tong sui" for desserts. While talking with Ming Sheng after eating the desserts, a birthday song came into my ears, it was played by the waiter. There was also a cake delivered towards me. The people in the restaurant were staring at the cake and singing the song together. I was so surprised and happy. The cake was bought by Li Yen and her bf. After eating the cake we left the restaurant.
Only 5 people are allowed in a car at Toronto, we have 7 people all together, so Ming Sheng and I have to take public transport home. On our way home, my dear brought me to a cinema nearby for a movie. We watched " Meet Dave", it is a nice comedy movie with some romantic and funny scenarios.
I was happy on this birthday, this is my 4th birthday that celebrated with my dear. I can still remembered each of my birthday celerations, the first one was celebrated at red box 2005, 2006 was celebrated at Redang, 2007 was celebrated at a Korean Restaurant. Last but not least, 2008 was celebrated at Toronto.
Lastly, I would like to say thank you to all my friends and family who wished me and remembered my birthday.

New laptop and New Phone
Ming Sheng had taken a week off from work. Besides of the Montreal Trip ,we did a lot of things in this week. I had opened a bank account and I owned a debit card, I have also applied for a visa card, which will be received within 2 weeks. Back to the main topic, my dear bought me a laptop and a new phone. The phone is under " pay as you go plan" which is like prepaid in Malaysia. It is a Motorola krzr, costs $ 300. I have a new phone number, so you can ask for my number through msn. But please make sure you have things to say or any emergency purposes before you call. It is due to the prepaid plan, it charges me 25 cent to answer the call and 15 cent per min for the conversation.
The laptop is a HP laptop costs $ 1k. Mingz said that it is the best among the laptops with reasonable price. He had been searching for it since 2 weeks ago. The laptop come with a few photo editing programme. I created a nice wallpaper and some photo albums. I have also found a movie maker programme with a lot of new and interesting features. I guess the movie I make for this summer will be nice. Montreal Trip -8th to 10th July 2008
I was away for a trip to Montreal on 8th to 10th of July. We leave in the morning and arrived at Montreal in the afternoon on 8th of July. Montreal is a city located 500km away from Toronto, it took us 5 hours to reach there. Montreal is in Quebec, so their people are mostly French speaking. We have difficulty to read sign boards because they are all in French. Luckily we managed to find out some meaning of French words. For example, sud= South, Nord= North, Sortie = exit and etc. In the beginning, I was worried that we would get lost in Montreal, because non of us knew the ways and directions there. Luckily we have google map. The google map is really fantastic, it gives us the direction when we key in the address of the starting place and the final destination. With the google map, we managed to travel by ourselves and gone to places that we wanted to go.

During my Free time
It has been 2 weeks since I arrived at Toronto. There are 2 months to go before my school starts. People may wondering what am I doing at home besides doing the housework and cooking. Let me tell you what I had done and what I am going to do in the following weeks.
There is a library nearby, my dear borrowed some books for me. The duration for a book borrowed is 3 weeks. He borrowed 3 books a time, and my target is reading one book in a week. I had finished reading the first book, called The Blue Rose. It is a nice book, I like the story because it is fulled of mysteries. My dear had keep saying that I should not read this type of book because my English is not good enough. He suggested me to start with children books. He brought me to the children centre and found some books that he used to like when he was young. There are Mathilda, Charlie and the chocolate factory and Sherlock Homes.
Besides reading story books I like to play computer games. I played touho 10, Caesar 4. I can use 3 to 4 hours to build an empire with 8000 people. I am a good governor sometimes. I like surfing net too. I learned Japanese and Guitar online. Starting from this week, I can play piano too. My dear just bough an electric piano. It is only $200.
Other than that, I like watching series. I downloaded Qvod player or you may search it from www.tom365.com. it is a very good site for downloading movies and dramas. It is extremely fast too. I like to watch desperate house wives and another Hong Kong
series.

Canada Day
1st of July is the Canada Day. I did not know what purpose of this day, it is the Canada's birthday but it is not an independence day. What is so special to me is it is a public holiday, so my dear did not work and he would bring me out for a walk to see the celebration. We got to know that there was a celebration with performances by Canadian musicians and a dazzling fireworks at Mel Lastman Square where is only 20 minutes walk from the place we stayed. We stopped at a Chinese restaurant for dinner while on our way there. We ate shrimps Wan Tan Mee, the Wan Tan is as big as a golf ball. It is only $4.
After dinner, we took another 5 minutes walk to reach the destination. We could see the crowd from far, there are road blocks and polices. It was then I realized the Canada Day is really important for Canadians. My dear told me that there are all sort of celebration for special weeks or days. An example was Pride week, celebrated last week at Toronto. It is some kind celebration for lesbians and gays.
When we reached the square, we snuck into the crowd and keep finding a good spot for fireworks. It was a fantastic night with a good spot for fireworks watching. I liked to watch fireworks especially when I am with my dear. The fireworks that day did not disappoint me because the fireworks are set off beautifully by loud music.
After dinner, we took another 5 minutes walk to reach the destination. We could see the crowd from far, there are road blocks and polices. It was then I realized the Canada Day is really important for Canadians. My dear told me that there are all sort of celebration for special weeks or days. An example was Pride week, celebrated last week at Toronto. It is some kind celebration for lesbians and gays.

My food again
There are nothing much to do when I do not need to study and work. I would like to cook for my dear to spend my time.
Breakfast: Bacon, toast bread and Scrambled Eggs.
My dear said my Scrambled does not look like scrambled eggs at all. This was my first time cooking bacon, the bacon is too salty because I marinate with salt. Then only my dear told me that it does not need any marinate, just fry without oil.
Fried Rice. It is cooked with ingredients that I can find in the fridge.
Vinegar pork.
It is cooked with the guide of a recipe book. It is not tasty because the vinegar I used is different from the one that stated in the recipe book. My dear said the vinegar taste is too strong, and I have to recook again if not I doubt that we can never finish it.
Honey Lime Chicken.
It is cooked with my own recipe. I just simply marinate with honey and lime. The result for this new try is good, but the lime taste does not bring out.
Chinese sausage with eggs
It is my own recipe again. My dear said the sausage is too cooked but it is crispy.
