Father and Sons Campout

Our ward held its annual Father & Sons Campout a few weeks ago.  Mike, Poppy and the boys headed up to the hills for a little guy bonding time.  They went up to Donut Falls in Big Cottonwood Canyon.  And, from what I heard, it sounds like they had a great time!  Here are the boys and some of their friends hanging out (with large sticks) around the campsite...

What is it with boys and sticks?!?

Once camp was all set up, they ate dinner and then Mike, Poppy and Cohen went on a hike to see Donut Falls.  Connor and Aiden decided to stay back at camp to continue playing with sticks.  Naturally!  Poppy took lots of pictures of the area where they stayed.  It looks really beautiful...

Here's Mike and Cohen on their way to the falls...

And, here's a picture of the falls.  The waterfall has actually cut a hole in the rock--hence the name Donut Falls...

Yay, finally a picture of Poppy to prove he was there...

That night, they had a program and roasted marshmallows around the campfire...

Then it was off to bed.  But, apparently, they didn't get much sleep because they were all awake up 5:30 am and trying to get warm around the campfire...

Yep, looks like...fun, or something like that...

Then it was time to eat breakfast...

And then head home looking like a bunch of chimney sweeps.  Seriously, have you ever seen a kid look so dirty?!?

Gross...

But, I guess when you're talking about a Father-Son Campout, the dirtier you come home, the more fun you had.  Silly boys!  --Lindsay

Cohen's Spring Soccer Season

Not only did Cohen's T-Ball season wrap up this past weekend, but his spring soccer season did as well.  He played on the same team that he played with during the fall season, and they had a great time.  They even won one or two games this time around, which they were so happy about!  Here are some of my favorite pictures from the season...

Goooooooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaalllllllllllll!!!!!!!!!

Team cheer...

Cohen taking a break next to Nana...

The spectators...

Aiden trying not to smile...

Cohen kicking it off...

This kick was so close, but unfortunately, didn't make it in the net...

Aiden was "dying of the heat."  I think it was 75° outside on this day.  He's going to melt in July...

Water break...

Cohen scored his first goal of the season during the last game of the season.  I didn't get a picture of it (of course), but it was awesome.  He was a happy camper...

He had a great season, and loved every minute of it.  I think he loves soccer almost as much as baseball!  But, man, am I glad both those seasons are over!!  For awhile, we had three kids doing four sports--all at the same time!  To say it was nuts would be a huge understatement!  Now, we're just down to two sports.  Connor still has a few more weeks of soccer and Aiden's machine pitch season just began a few weeks ago and will continue through July.  Still a lot going on, but two sports is better than four!  --Lindsay

Cohen's T-Ball Season

Cohen just finished another season of T-Ball.  Mike ended up being the coach of the team this year, and Cohen loved that!  Mike has been really busy because not only did he end up coaching Cohen's T-Ball team, but he is also coaching Connor's soccer team as well.  No rest for the weary, right?  Anyway, their team was the Tampa Bay Rays, and they were all pretty cute.  Cohen had a great season!  He had so much fun and improved quite a bit.  This kiddo loves baseball!  Here's a few of my favorite pictures from the season...

Cohen smiling at the camera instead of throwing the ball to make the play...

The team waiting for their turn up to the plate...

Cohen hitting the ball...

And running to first base...

Their cheers at the end of the game were always so cute...

And getting them to line up to give high fives to the other team was like herding cats, but somehow Mike managed to do it each game...

We didn't have great luck as far as the weather was concerned.  We had several games that were cancelled because of the rain, and a couple others that were played despite the fact that it was raining.  Cohen didn't seem to mind...

Run Cohen, run...

Getting direction from the coach...

Throwing to first...

Making a stop...

Cohen sitting under Nana's umbrella...

Trying not to loose his pants.  Skinny little thing...

The handsome coach...

Making friends with the other team...

Several at bats...

After running the bases.  Love the serious look on his face...

Several plays in the field...

Toward the end of the season, Mike started transitioning the kids to coach pitch...

Cohen loved it...

And made contact with it almost every time he was up to bat...

It was a great season!  I'm sure he'll have many more baseball seasons ahead of him.  --Lindsay
