October Happenings...

I love the fall & the fantastic weather we enjoy in Southern Utah...
Halloween is probably one of my least favorite holidays.
I don't hate it, but I don't love it.
But my kids do & that's really all that matters.
We enjoyed carving pumpkins...
...posing for pics...
...dressing up as Bumblebee...
...and A bumblebee!
The kids both had class parties & costume parades.
We missed Dad Halloween night because he had to work.
Love these 2 kids!

Here we go again...

Here is my attempt @ catching up my blog...
***
We love the end of summer because it means cooler temps &....the RODEO!!!
We look forward to taking the kids every year.
Dan enjoys pulling out his boots, I enjoy going because I did it every year as a child, & the kids LOVE everything about it...especially the food.

Camping.

It seems to get harder & harder every time I get behind on blogging.
I love blogging.
I love looking back @ the things our family has done & recall memories that were made.
That is why it is SO hard to give up.
It seems that life is just rushing by & I'm not taking the time to really enjoy it.
So for now I will TRY to continue blogging our memories.
And of course one day put them in a book. :)

Back in August we were sick of the heat & decided to head up to Beaver Mountain over Labor Day.
Best.choice.EVER!
The weather was PERFECT during the day (70's) & was just enough chill to cool us all down.
It is also such a gorgeous area.
We went up with some of Dan's co-workers, The Phillips & the Zingleman family.
It was nice to get to know them because Dan loves his job & it's because of the people he works with.
We chose a campground that was just above one of the many small lakes on the mountain so we could fish. The kids all got acquainted & explored, fished, made lots of duct tape creations, & watched their Dad's shoot a squirrel (nice babe!).

The kiddos...duct taping & picking me flowers! :)
This was the small lake right below our camp.
It was beautiful!
I told Dan that I want to go back next year.
For those of you who know me well know that I HATE to camp & get dirty.
But I think I can handle it now!
 Fishing!
Not sure there was much caught, but it was fun anyway!

Play-doh!

I am not one of those cool moms who let their kids play with play-doh.
I despise it.
I hate the mess it makes.
I am maybe partially OCD?!?
But I had a weak moment & Averi & her friends were in Play-doh heaven!
And you know what I realized?!?
It's really not that bad.
And want to know the best part about Play-doh???
It entertained them for over an hour.
And they came up with some very creative...masterpieces!
Now if I could just remember that the next time they want to get it out! :)

Lucas' 1st of Preschool.

Lucas started school a few weeks ago.
It was quite the busy day with Dan & I starting school the same day as well.
But we survived.
To say Lucas was excited is an understatement.
He had been talking about Miss Julie & Grandma Smith for weeks.
He loves them so much.
I think they love him just as much too! :)
This year is even better because his cousin Noah is in his class with him!

Grandma Smith, Lucas, Miss Julie
Lucas also goes to a preschool @ the elementary.
He's still trying to figure out if he likes it or not.

3rd Grade.

3rd grade.
I can't believe it!
Averi got Mr. Bruce for a teacher this year.
We were both so excited because we've heard he is a great teacher!
She has loved it so far this year & it's amazing what a huge difference the teacher can make.

Activity Days/Daddy-Daughter date.

I may get into BIG trouble for posting these...but I just couldn't resist!
Averi & Dan headed out to their Daddy-Daughter activity so I snapped a few...Dan was SO pleased! ;)
They ate dinner & played games.
The Dads had to do the girls hair...which I'm sure was pretty comical.
They both had fun & it was great that they got to spend some time together.
