a baby sprinkle

Recently some lovely ladies and myself hosted a baby "sprinkle" for my BFF Devin.

"What's a baby sprinkle?" you ask?

Well, it's not your typical full shower of gifts, toys, and necessities.  Devin and her husband already have a sweet little (almost 2 year old) boy, Mason and now they are expecting a girl.

So...since they pretty much  have the bouncy seat, the high chair, etc Emery needs some girly clothes, bows, diapers, and wipes.

It was probably the easiest shower I've ever hosted.  We just bought some pink things for here and there and made a few little desserts a nice dip, and we were done.

Emery is already one lucky and spoiled little girl.
We all can't wait for Emery to arrive at the end of March.
And I attempted and (I assume) successfully created my first bow holder for sweet Emery. Look at all the bows she has already!  My oh my!

I'm not here today...

Lindsey aka our favorite Bargain Blonde kissed Dallas good bye this morning and is flying the high skies to Vegas for her BFF's wedding weekend.

I offered to do my first ever guest post for her while she was away.

So if you want some vegas nightlife tips, head on over and check it out.

And I'll leave you with this vintage pic of our little Bargain Blonde.

installation via twitter

So on Saturday morning, I had a new washer/dryer set installed.  In my baby apartment, there is a small closet with which a stackable washer/dryer is supposed to fit.  I did the measurements, went to the store, wrote a big ole check for it (with a shaky hand), and 2 weeks later it was the day.

I woke up around 8am, because I knew they were coming in the morning, but not sure exactly what time.  Around 9am, I get a call that they were on their way.

Being that I live in a tiny "baby" apartment, there is limited space where I could go as to not distract those that would be installing this bad boy.  So I was restricted to my couch.  To waste time I tweeted the whole "experience."  If you don't follow me on twitter you should...i've been told i'm pretty hilarious (also hilarious on Facebook as well).  If you are smart and DO follow me, then you already know this story.

It's easier to tell it to you this way than type it all out.

Enjoy.

No more than 2 minutes after they left "Edward" called me.  I was in the bathroom and did not answer.  Then he called me 30 minutes later.  I also had a missed call from him while at a superbowl party on Sunday.  I have yet to answer and I haven't heard from him since.

This is my life.

even more questions answered...

I love doing these question and answer things!

Aimee at Chronicles of a Dime tagged me in some questions and I'm happy to provide her and you gals with the answers.

1. What is your holy grail beauty/makeup product {only one!!}?

I don't have a brand, but I NEED mascara no other.  It's a staple.

2. Do you drink wine, and if so, what's your favorite wine?

Does a bear sh*t in the woods?  Yes, I drink wine and love it.  I never used to be a red wine lover, but I've recently gotten down with it...of any type.

For the record...my favorite white wine is Riesling.

3. What is your favorite place to buy clothes/shoes?

Clothes - Francesca's, Target, Forever 21
Shoes - I don't really have a favorite place, but the higher the heel the better.

4. If you won $1 million, how would you spend the money?

new shiny white car, trip to Bora Bora with all my friends, custom built home full of clothes, and the rest (if there is any) can go into savings.

5. What is your astrological sign, and do you believe you act in accordance with your sign's characteristics?

I'm not sure about my characteristics...but I'm a Cancer.

Here is what I found on us crabs.

Cancer Strength Keywords:

- Loyalty - AGREED

- Dependable - AGREED

- Caring - AGREED

- Adaptable - AGREED

- Responsive - NOT SURE
Cancer Weakness Keywords:

- Moody - AGREED

- Clingy - AGREED (when it comes to boys atleast)

- Self-pitying - VERY RARE

- Oversensitive - NEVER

- Self-absorbed - NEVER
6. Would you ever be a contestant on a dating reality show {such as The Bachelor}? Why or why not?

I thought about this while in college, but now that i'm older I probably wouldn't.  I just can't picture myself having to "compete" for attention of a guy that i'm "dating."  I have to honestly commend those girls that go on there and do that.  They are putting their heart (and minds) in a very vulnerable place.

I'll just sit back and watch them unravel from my couch.

7. What's your drink of choice at Starbucks?

I don't drink Starbucks or coffee or latte or mocha or whatever else. *get your jaws off the floor*

8. If you only had 24 hours to live, what would you do?

Oh gosh, write a letter to all my closest friends and family individually...drive to Charleston and stick my feet in the ocean one last time, eat the best country fried steak meal, and just relax.

9. If I came to visit you in your current place of residence, where would you take me?

We would go eat here...Rick Erwins then we'd walk down to my favorite bar in Greenville On The Roxx (I know the bouncer and DJ), they have $1 jell-o shots.  I'm easy to please.

10. What is your greatest strength?

I don't know my GREATEST strength...but I'm really good at parallel parking.

11. If you could travel to any one destination in the world for two weeks {money is not an option}, where would you go?

deb ball 2012.

So...the dress came...it fit with some "super high" spanx and I got a lot of compliments on it.

I was unable to get my hair and make-up to look anything like I wanted so I just got lazy and left it down in curls.

I also didn't take a lot of pictures, but here is a preview of Mandy and I at the ball.

Sadly, there are no crazy stories to tell.  I didn't fall flat on my face or get too wasted where that was even a possibility.

It was just an all around fun night.  My mother did her usual and requested the DJ play Fly Like a G6 during the band's break.  That's legit her favorite song.

Sorry I built you up for this even only to have 1) no pictures to show you and 2) no fun stories to tell you.

But I will say...I will definitely be using Rent The Runway.com again for sure!
