Christina did this 20 Questions Survery and I figured since now my work has disabled all the "fun" stuff from my computer (gchat included), what better way to pass the time?

 

1. What brings you the greatest joy?

music. snail mail (giving or receiving). the beach. laughing.

 

2. What are your vices?

booze. chick fil-a.

 

3. What is on your nightstand?

lamp. picture of forsyth park fountain in savannah, ga. small (fake) roses, one line a day journal.

 

4. Do you have a secret talent?

I have many talents, but none of which are secret.

 

5. What is your greatest indulgence?

eating. I love to eat. I especially love to eat out.

 

6. What should every woman try at least once in her life?

being single. obviously coming from a perpetually single girl this would be something I would say...but hear me out.

I think every woman should try being single...atleast for a good 6 months. learn to function alone. learn to rely on yourself. learn to make yourself happy.

 

7. What makes you laugh?

oh man, what doesn't make me laugh?

top of my laughter list right now is Broad City on Comedy Central and Curb Your Enthusiasm.

 

8. What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?

I don't know if people would be "surprised", but I don't really tell anyone when I go on dates...not even my closest friends.  I just assume no one would really care to hear my dating stories, while they're trying to juggle their own busy lives. but if you ask me, i'll tell you.

 

9. What is on your bucket list?

greece. happy marriage that lasts a lifetime. children. grandchildren. italy.

 

10. What is on your feet right now?

these.

 

 

11. How did you make your first dollar?

my first job was as a cashier at Winn-Dixie grocery store. I got it the summer after my junior year of high school and worked until I went to college the summer of 2001.

 

12. What superstition do you believe in?

I'm not really superstitious, but my mom is extremely superstitious. your basic stuff like black cats, umbrellas inside, walking under ladders, and others.  her tried and true superstition is you have to take your christmas tree down before the new year or you'll have bad luck all year long. i've done it every year since I've been out of my moms house and I can assure you it doesn't work.

 

13. What items in your closet do you wear the most?

jeans. these are currently my faves.  i probably wear them atleast twice a week.

 

 

14. What is the best gift you’ve ever received?

I can't pinpoint the best gift. because any gift i've received whether it was just a birthday card or a picture of a friends kid it was special and thoughtful.

 

15. What is on your liquor shelf?

nothing. I don't have a shelf for my liquor. if I did, it would only stay there MAYBE a week.

 

16. What is on your kitchen counter?

microwave. toaster. steak knives. flowers.

 

17. What would you never leave home without?

keys. wallet. phone.

 

18. What movie has the greatest ending?

the sixth sense? that's like the worst answer ever. that movie had me creeped out for weeks when it first came out. check back with me later.

 

19. Who is on the guest list for your ideal dinner party?

justin timberlake. britney spears. all my best g/f's. that's enough, right?

 

20. What is one thing you wish you had known when you were younger?

you're gonna hate being an adult. stay in college as long as you can afford. don't rush it.

I've never been someone to get into a huge fight with a close friend, that turns us into enemies. 

 

that's not to say that I haven't gotten in fights with friends...I have...when I was younger and immature.  but it was eventually resolved and now I can't even remember what the fights were about.

 

I'm lucky enough to say that the core group of friends I have, I've known for over 10 years...some since before I can even remember.

 

and as I've gotten older, I've been able to create new friendships...not many...but a few, with people who I feel like I've known forever and I'm so grateful to have in my life.

 

but with age, comes wisdom.  the wisdom that just because you've known someone for a long time, doesn't mean they will stay your friend forever.  sometimes you grow apart, sometimes you have issues, sometimes it's one sided.

 

I pride myself on the fact that [I think] i'm a loyal friend. I've tried so hard, mostly with the same friend, to keep the friendship going.  only to be let down and disappointed time and time again. and as with any relationship...you can't make it work unless both parties are willing to try. and i'm done being the only person that tries.

 

I was talking to someone yesterday about this and said...

 

"i'm too old to try so hard to keep friendships that are strictly one sided. I've got plenty of friends that are loyal and good to me to care."

it's called a break-up, because it's broken...the quote i've always heard regarding romantic relationships, but it works with any relationship.
