SWOP! is a private (but sometimes public) swopping event in Singapore that was started in 2007. It’s a simple and fun event that allows people to trade their clothes and accessories while donating to charity at the same time. You pay $5 and bring at least 5 items – it’s that simple!
Recycling and swopping clothes is great because you get to empty your wardrobe and get new things to wear – for absolutely free! It is also an ethical and environmentally-conscious way of getting new clothes, which cuts down on waste. Lastly, it also ensures that it benefits people in need as well, by donating all admission fees to charity.
SWOP! is directly inspired by Swap-A-Rama-Rama by Wendy Tremayne. has been featured in the local press several times.
While there are public SWOPs! sometimes, this event is usually only open to friends in the e-mail list. So why not join us? Just drop an e-mail to wessatong [at] gmail [dot] com and you’ll not only be kept in the loop, but also gain access to other parts of the site that are password-protected for friends only.
Also, check out our Facebook Page to be part of our swopping community!
