Thank you to those who came down for our last Swop! For the record Animal Lovers League collected $280 in donations.

I’m pleased to announce our next Swop, which is happening in January, just in time for Chinese New Year! As you spring clean your wardrobe, why not donate all the clothes and accessories that you don’t want any more to Swop?

We will be partnering our good friends at Jurong Point once again. This time, all donations will go towards Sage Counselling Centre, which provides counselling services for the elderly and family members. Find out more about this worthy charity at http://www.sagecc.org.sg/.

How it works: Bring at least 5 items (clothing, accessories or shoes only) and a $5 donation. Swoppers can take home a maximum of 20 items and $5 for each item, from the 21st item onwards.

Hi everyone,

Thank you to those who came for the last Swop! Jurong Point collected $355 which went to Singapore Environment Council.

Just to let you know we’ll be Swopping again this August!

Our friends at Jurong Point have kindly offered to host it again, and we’ll be giving proceeds to the Animal Lovers League (Pet Villa). As usual, all leftover clothes will be given to the Salvation Army.

We’ll also be having a DJ to emcee, as well as a lucky draw with attractive prizes! Keep an eye out for more info in days to come.

How it works:

Dear Swoppers,

Hope you guys are doing well! Just to say a big thank you to those who dropped by the Christmas Swop a few months ago. We collected $360 in total for the SACS Family Care Centre, plus lots of clothes for the women and children in their shelter!

This time, we are heading out west and teaming up with Jurong Point to hold our next Swop. Our beneficiary will be the Singapore Environment Council.

Date: April 29, Sunday
Time: 3pm to 6pm
Venue: Jurong Point Shopping Centre, JP1 Centre Stage (the mall is right next to Boon Lay MRT station)

Highlights:
* 100.3 FM Xiao Zhu will be hosting!
* Lucky draw where you stand to win Beauty Credit and Giordano vouchers!
* First 100 Swoppers get a free T-shirt each!

How It’ll Work
* Just bring at least 5 items (clothing, accessories, shoes) and pay $5 for entry!
* Swoppers can take home a maximum of 20 items. If you take home any more than that, we will kindly ask you to donate $5 per extra item.
* All cash proceeds go to the Singapore Environment Council, while left over clothes will be given to the Salvation Army.

Thanks again to those who managed to make it down to our Swop back in July, just to let you know that the Cathay folks collected $460 for their adopted charities.

And now for some exciting news! Now that Christmas is round the corner, Swop is gearing up for another round of swopping fun!

This time, we will be partnering the MyVillage mall in Serangoon Gardens. Swop will be part of their Christmas bazaar, which will feature stalls and good food!

All cash donations and leftover items will be donated to the SACS Family Care Centre which helps women and children who have been victims of family violence. For more information, visit this website: http://www.sacs.org.sg/fcc.htm

Time: 3pm to 6pm

– Please bring $5 and at least five items in good condition

Dear Swoppers,

First of all, thank you for those who came for our Swop held back in April! Just to let you know we collected $180 for the House Rabbit Society.

For those who are itching for another Swop, good news! There’s going to be a mega swop event happening this July! Hosted and organised by our friends at The Cathay, The Great Big Swop will benefit Beautiful People, which aims to teach important life skills and positive values to teenage girls (check out their website for more info).

The donation fee will be $10 this time round, but it’s still all going to a good cause 🙂 Make sure you come early though, as The Cathay will be giving the first 100 participants a $10 voucher! Also, every participant will be eligible for lucky draws every half hour where you can stand a chance to win up to $1,500 worth of shopping vouchers. There’s going to be some exciting performances too. So make sure you stick around for the fun!

Here are the details:

Date: 9 July, Saturday

Time: 3.30pm to 6.30pm

Venue: The Cathay, 2 Handy Road. (External Atrium)

How it works: Bring $10 and at least 5 items in good condition.

Some important information:

– This particular swop will accept games, CDs, DVDs and books, as well as the usual clothes and accessories donations.

– What’s not accepted: jewelry or costume jewelry,underwear, illegal or pornographic goods, infant clothes, and perishables.

– You’ll get a chip for every item you donate, which you can exchange for another item you want to take home with you. Want to take home extra items but you don’t have enough chips? Not to worry, extra items will go for $5 each, and the money will go to charity too.

– Any remaining items at the end of the day will be donated to Salvation Army or other charities.

This comes a bit late, but thank you to all who came for our Tampines 1 event in January! You helped Beautiful People collect $350 from that Swop.

And now, some exciting news! We’ll be holding a special Swop in two weeks’ time on Easter weekend to benefit the House Rabbit Society of Singapore. And we’ll be hosted by our friends at FleaFlyFloFun too! So come by and have some Swopping fun, sniff out some great bargains at the flea market, learn more about responsible bunny ownership!

Hi everyone,

Hello everyone!

First of all, happy new year! Hope you’ve had a great 2010, and thank you for coming down to the swops last year. I hope you had fun!

The good news is that the swopping fun is set to continue into 2011. We’re kicking things off with a pre-Chinese New Year swop, so make sure you set aside your old clothes during your spring clean, and bring them down for the Swop!

I’m also pleased to announce we will be partnering with our good friends at Tampines 1, who are kindly providing the venue and logistics again. This time we will be swopping in a cool venue in the mall where we’ll not only have lots of swopping fun, but also get complimentary Japanese food and drinks!

More details will be unveiled in a later email, so keep your eyes peeled for it. Till then, mark down Jan 29th on your calendar, and see you then!
