Dear Little Babe,
It was a Monday in January when I found out you were coming. I was speechless as I peered down at that little plus sign. My heart was racing and i felt as if i couldn't breathe. what would i tell Brad (or better know as your Father). We weren't planning on having you for a few more years down the road. My only thought was that you must be determined to come now. So my barely able to breathe self went to find Brad and asked him to come look at something. He followed me into the bathroom and just stared. He had no words. A few minutes later I threw on my running shoes and we went for a run. I need to clear my head and process this big development. While we were gone your Father called his whole family! I took that as a sign of excitement coming from him, you see he's not all that great when it comes to the mushy stuff.
A couple weeks later we saw you. You looked like a little bean, you were so tiny. Your heart beat was thumping so loudly, 141 beats per minute! I think it was then that I actually comprehended you were coming and the excitement followed soon after.
I have been so extremely tired the last month. I have no energy to do anything, especially run :( Thankfully I have not been sick or nauseous. I'm hungry all the time, my rumbling stomach can be heard by every patient I am assisting on at work. I've been craving Cheetos and hamburgers, GREAT. Except not. Can you start craving healthier food? It's a lot better for you even though it might not taste as good! Also, You already have a stockpile of baby blankets growing at home, from your many admirer's!
So let's make a deal, little bean. Let's try to have a safe and healthy journey here. You grow big and strong and I'll work on getting everything ready for you. And take your time, let's not rush this.
Love you,
Mom
PS- Sawyer has been laying on my stomach alot, starting back before I knew you were coming. He's become very attached to us. You're going to love him!

This has been such a crazy week for me. I feel like my emotions have been all over the place, like a roller coaster. sorry husband and pup, I've been major crazy chick. aint it great being a girl!? any who... the weather is starting to change and i love it. Lately I've just wanted to cuddle up with a blanket and read, which i have done on several occasions. My oldest sister and i are starting to train for a 12k next week and i am so very nervous. I love running but I've never done an actual sponsored... running... event type thing. wish me luck!
Here are a few quotes i have been loving on lately. enjoy.

as of late
Watching- Sherlock. thank you emma! this show is amazingly addicting. we watch it on netflix but it originally airs on BBC. We watched the first episode last week and little did we know it was an hour in a half! Our minds were blown. No joke. It's a different twist on the sherlock holmes stories we all know. It takes place in modern day Great Britain and each episode is very skillfully written. just put it in your queue!
Reading- Divergent. Actually i just finished the second book in the series, Insurgent. I stumbled upon the recommendation for this book in a friends post on facebook. I downloaded a sample of it on my kindle and immediately bought the book shortly after. Within the fist day of reading Divergent i was already halfway through! This book is a dystopian novel. These types of books hold a great level of intrigue for me, it's crazy to imagine a world different from what I'm living in and used to. Lets just say when i finished this book i was in a mad depression, which naturally is proof of how great it was.

the lucky one
Life flies by, you know? This blog really hasn't been on my mind AT ALL for the past year. I guess you could say i've been "busy", but what kind of excuse is that? everyone is busy these days. How about some updates...
I'm still working as a dental assistant. and i love it. I'm so lucky to have a job that i don't mind waking up early everyday for. My patients make me smile, laugh, and cry and seriously it's the best part of my day. I meet so many wonderful people and have had some pretty crazy experiences in spite of all the time spent filling teeth, taking xrays, performing root canals, taking impressions, pulling teeth, and dealing with obnoxious insurances.
Husband is going to ASU and working his butt off. Seriously, this guy is crazy. He's taking six classes this semester and i hardly see him. At the end of spring semester he'll be taking his DAT and applying to dental schools. I am so proud of him and all his hard work. By the way, he has straight A's and science GPA of 4.0!!
I am so grateful for my life right now. I cant believe this january i will have been married for four years and be completing my 24th year of life. It seems like yesterday i was stuck being 15 waiting for the day i could officially "date" and start driving my parents old blue ford explorer. Now i sit in my own home with my husband and pup and as i look around i cant help but be proud of what i have accomplished in the last eight in a half years. So thank you Mom and Dad for being the best parents you knew how to be and thank you to my Heavenly Father for loving me and guiding me all through out my life. Tuesday, May 31
february, march, april, may...i'm alive
WOW. it is one day away from june! this year is officially flying by... i'd like to say i've been too busy to blog, but that would probably be a lie. i guess i've been to lazy to blog. haha. so much has been happening. i no longer work two jobs, which has been a major blessing! i left my theatre job to focus solely on dental assisting. it was hard to leave behind all the amazing people i met at the theatre and i loveeeed working with my family but in the end everything has worked out and i now have a little more time to keep my home in order. Lets see.....
FEBRUARY
-Brad's brother and his wife had a baby! little Stetson Jay Pico was born at the end of February and is officially the cutest baby boy i have ever seen! i can say this because up till this point i've only been blessed with two gorgeous nieces.
-I started RUNNING <3

MARCH
-Quit my second job and gained some freedom!
-My best girl emma got engaged! she called me first and i was asleep :( Im sooooo happy for her and so excited for her wedding june 9th.
APRIL
-dyed my hair dark brown! i was sooo nervous. it took years to get back to the perfect shade of blonde. but after waying out the pro's and con's (pros being, brown is cheaper and healthy-er for my hair, cons being...all the money and time put into getting blonde and that's about it) i went for it. Brown is definitely more me and i actually love it. I woke from a terrifying dream last night that my hair was blonde and short, who'd ever think?!?!
MAY
-Threw emma a bridal shower! everything went smooth until the chocolate fountain stopped working...haha
-brad and i hiked camelback! I had five days off, which has not happened in over a year! it was sooo nice to clean and organize my house, veg out in front of the tv, shop, and catch up with friends.
