Sorry Lexi...

How pathetic am I?  Lexi's birthday was 2 MONTHS AGO and I have not posted a thing about her special day!!  It's a good thing she doesn't read this blog or I'd be in some serious trouble.  Although, I'm starting to think no one else reads this thing either.  Anyway, back to my Lexi.

Since it was just us for the big day she picked out this cute little Ariel cake.  Poor girl, since her birthday is at the beginning of the school year she has never had a big party with lots of family.

Since Lexi wanted a Little Mermaid theme this year for her birthday I thought it would be fun to take her to see a REAL mermaid.  So, we took her to a local resort to see their aquarium and "real mermaids".  Sadly, the aquarium was tiny and sad and the mermaids were an hour behind schedule.  By the time they finally showed up Lexi was so hungry that she watched the girl swim around the tank once just to humor me and then insisted that we go eat.  So we did.

It's almost impossible to get Isaac to look at the camera!

We finished the day with cake and a movie.
Happy Birthday Lexi, 2 months ago!

Disneyland

Last month we went on our annual Disneyland trip.  This year was very different from past visits.  Not only has our party of four grown to a party of five, but the girls are growing up too.  Since the girls are older their interests are slowly changing as well.  We went on so many rides this year that they had always refused to go on before.  We finally got them to go on Space Mountain, and Lexi went with me on the Tower of Terror, it was so much fun!  I think our only stops in Fantasyland were for the carousel, the sword in the stone, and of course the tea cups.

Isaac was his usually, happy self the whole time.  He had so much to look at and when he had had too much he would just fall asleep in his stroller.

Part of Lexi's birthday present was lunch at Ariel's Grotto with all of the Princesses. It was fun for me, since Audrey insists that she is too old for the Princesses.  She was quick to get in every picture and have them sign her book though.  And Lexi felt pretty special, even if Tim did drop her pink cupcake on the floor.  Woops!

We can't wait for next year!

I'll post more pictures once I can get them all off mine and Tim's phones.

Back to School

Yes, I know, it's been almost a month since school started and I haven't posted anything yet!  We have been so busy trying to figure out this new schedule.  With both girls in school I feel like I'm constantly running around and poor Isaac doesn't get very long or consistent naps.

Lexi is LOVING Kindergarten and her teacher is absolutely amazing!  She's in morning Kindergarten and the day is so short (2 1/2 hours) but she seems to get to do so many fun things.  She also seems to be adjusting to school a lot better than I had expected.  She is making lots of new friends and is so excited that she is becoming an excellent little reader. She also loves the fact that "Audrey's School" is now her school too.  Now, her focus is on playing on the big kid playground next year.  I have a feeling that this will be an ongoing theme with this girl.  Whatever Audrey is doing, she'll want to be old enough to do it too.

Audrey was anxious to get back to school all summer.  I think she was one of the few kids to be sad on the last day of school.  I can't believe she's in 2nd grade now!  The homework is definitely increasing and her tests really matter now.  She is proving to be her father's daughter.  So far she has shown great study habits and her grades on her tests are reflecting that.  The only downfall is that she seems to have inherited Genetic Straight A Syndrome. I know that sounds like something I just made up, but I argue that it is a real condition.  Just ask Tim!  Audrey has also lucked out with a great teacher this year and she has lots of friends in her class.  We have also ventured into a brave new world together.  Since I always have to wake Isaac from his naps to pick Audrey up from school she has started walking home by herself a few days a week.  She loves it and wants it to become the norm.  I'm not quite ready for it and I'm worried I'll miss seeing her bounce up to me everyday after school, give me a hug and start chatting about her day.  I know that at some point that will come to an end, I just don't want it to be now!

Very excited to get their first day started!

While the girls were enjoying their first day of school my little boy turned 5 months old.  I can't believe time is flying this fast!  Isaac is showing more of his personality everyday, and is proving to be even more of a mamma's boy than before.  He is very wiggly, loves to roll all over the house and is always jabbering.  And whenever he is really into whatever he is playing with/chewing on he makes the funniest loud, growling, grunting noise.  But, when he's tired he loves to cuddle with Mommy and his blanket.  The girls don't seem to have tired of him yet, I guess that will happen once he can sneak into their rooms.

We also made sure to get each kids height and weight, so here are their unofficial stats.  Unofficial because it was done with wiggly kids and a tape measure and a cheap scale.  Also, if you notice, none of these pictures were actually taken on the same day.  But, it is definitely a tradition we want to start!

80 Days of Summer Vacation

We may not have had 104 days to build rockets or rollercoasters, like Phineas and Ferb.  But this summer did seem to fly by as if we were on a rocket or rollercoaster.  I guess that's what happens when you're having fun!  Since I was absolutely terrible at updating the blog all summer (and Isaac has finally decided to take a nap, yay!) today I'll post a Summer Photo Gallery.  Pictures may or may not be in order of event, I can't remember!
