She's a Busy Gal

Since the end of August, when Audrey first stepped into her Kindergarten classroom, met her amazing teacher and introduced herself to all 26 of her newest best friends, school has been the highlight of her young life.  She won't tell me much about her days, and rolls her eyes at me when I beg to know just one thing that she did that day.  One of the reasons I volunteer in her class is simply to listen in and get the inside scoop. I think she enjoys having a part of her day that is just hers, with no Mom, Dad, or Lexi.  Even though we are 6 months into school it never gets old for her.  Friday afternoons I prepare Audrey for the fact that we have the weekend ahead of us, and thus no school.  An entire weekend with Daddy is hardly a consolation prize (poor man, he works hard to make weekends fun.) And I really dread Fridays, like today, when we are heading into a three-day weekend.  I can predict the pouting and the sad eyes Monday morning will bring when Audrey realizes that there will be no school.  Darn President's Day!  Last month when Audrey was sick she broke down in tears, not because of the burning fever, or the terrible stomachache, or even the headaches and being seriously lethargic, but because she had to miss a week of school.  I'm serious when I say that getting her homework for that week was the key to her recovery.
Now that I'm pretty sure you get the idea, I thought I would post a few pictures of what has been keeping Audrey so busy these past few weeks.

Last week Audrey's class celebrated the 100th Day of School.
They were assigned to make a poster with 100 objects on it.

Every Friday the school has Spirit Day.  Today's theme was Twin Day.
Audrey and her adorable friend Braelin planned this outfit with very little help.

We're so happy that Audrey is enjoying learning and making friends.  We just hope it will last longer than elementary school.  I can see now what the teenage years and high school will bring; lots of friend drama, boys (eek!) and phone calls saying she's been ditching class.  Oh the joy!
