Another Day

Well, Wednesday passed with no cooperation from the hospital. Again, Sara was not called in for her induction and, again, we have gone through the same process so far today. We began the day pretty hopeful, as we were told we were #2 on the list. However, our hopes were soon dashed when we called the hospital around 8:00 am and were told that it was very backed up and very unlikely that we would be getting in today. We've decided that, if we don't get in today, we give up on the induction idea and will just wait until Sara goes into labor naturally. When that will be, we don't know. Hopefully soon.

On a side note, at least one thing will be delivered to us today. My good old Chevy Cavalier is set to be towed from our old apartment in Sugar House to our new apartment in Bountiful...Thanks Steph!! The poor thing needs its engine replaced and we have been too poor to have it done. So, it has literally been parked on the curb outside our old apartment for nearly 3 months now! It's become more of a storage facility than a car. Every once and a while we'll find ourselves needing something and then realize it's in the Cavy. So we make a trip out there and grab what we need out of the trunk and continue on our way. Funny thing is that it would probably sit there for a while longer if it wasn't for the fact that the plates expire today! We've basically waited until the very last second to get it off the street in hopes of not getting a ticket. In order to renew the registration this year, we need to have safety/ emissions tests done. And we all know that it takes a running engine to pass those kinds of tests!

Anyway, although we wish Cameron were here already, sounds like we'll stick with the one delivery today. The second we'll save for another day.

Check this out

Funniest blog ever!
http://seriouslysoblessed.blogspot.com/
Thanks Erin…angelburns…it keeps me laughing each day!
Loved todays post!
It has not been going on for that long, so I recommend starting at the beginning!
Enjoy

And No...I still did not have the little one!
Went to the Dr on Monday, I am a 3 and 90% effaced. He stripped my membranes and I am on the waiting list to be induced. The hospital is super busy and there is a chance I will get bumped...I have not had any contractions or signs of labor.
If we go in today to have the baby we will post updates when we can.

The earlier the better.

Well, we've officially completed 39 weeks of Sara's pregnancy. Despite all of the pep talks, begging and pleading directed toward little Cameron, he is still refusing to come out. Wednesday afternoon, I went with Sara to yet another doctor appointment to see what kind, if any, progress was being made. Unfortunately, Dr. Barton was being paged at the very moment he was supposed to being seeing us, so we saw him for literally less than 60 seconds. He did a quick exam and told us Sara was dilated to about a 3 and was still right around 80% effaced. He said her cervix is ready and agreed to the idea of scheduling an induction. So, we have scheduled an induction for Wednesday, the 30th. However, we are planning to call the hospital early Monday morning to see if they can fit us in on Monday. We are keeping our fingers crossed that either things happen naturally this weekend or we can go in on Monday. Sara is to the point where she is uncomfortable at all times. I can only imagine what it must be like. So, as far as I'm concerned, the earlier the better.

Is it time yet?

I am beginning to lose hope Cameron will ever want to come out of my belly. I feel like he is just going to continue getting bigger and live here forever!!! I ate the pregnancy pizza from Trio, I drove to the top of a mountain yesterday, there was a full moon on Friday...and he is still in me!! I do not believe in any of these tales ; )
I went to the Dr on Thursday, I was still dilated to a 2, but was now 80% effaced. The Dr just says..."your cervix is ready...it could be any day now!" Thanks for getting my hopes up doc! Little does he know he will be seeing me on Wednesday with a not so pleasant attitude.
I have been happy and positive this whole pregnancy and that is slowly fading. I am hoping this is normal toward then end of 40 weeks!
Scott has been amazing this whole time and I am sure he is even more excited for Cameron to get here. He has put lotion on my feet and legs EVERY single day for the past month, he picks up everything on the floor that is too far for me to bend over and reach, he helps me off the couch/floor, he cleans the bath tub, buys me ice cream, this list could go on and on...but most importantly he tells me every day that I look wonderful and rubs my big belly! Thanks for being the best husband and daddy in the world! Cam and I love you tons!

Summer Yummin's Had Us a Blast!

I really don't think there are enough words in the English language, or even a metaphor, that could accurately describe my love for summer. There's just something about being able to spend time outside on a warm evening enjoying your surroundings. I find myself wishing every year that summer could last all year long. However, living in Utah, I know that will never happen. So, during this time, I do my best to take advantage of the current season and pack in all the summer activities that I possibly can.

Tonight, Sara and I went down the street to Pace's Dairy Ann. This place is a Davis County original. Ask anybody who lives in the area and I guarantee they will speak highly of the place. It really is a classic. As businesses across the state continue to upgrade their appearance and facilities, Pace's Dairy Ann has done an awesome job at staying exactly the same. It literally hasn't changed since I was a kid. We ordered our ice cream, Sara a strawberry banana shake and I a cherry rainbow, and sat down at one of the tables out on the outdoor patio. Pace's is most known for their Astro Bars, a unique popsicle that is hands down the most delicious you'll ever have!

We did purchase a dozen popsicles if anyone would like to come over and experience the yum!

Finally!

After many weeks of endless talk from friends and family to become part of the wonderful world of blogging, the Talbots finally caved! Welcome to TalbotTalk, our simple, innocent start to sharing our thoughts and experiences with all those who care to read about them!

So, let's get down to business. Quite frankly, the most important thing going on right now is the fact that Sara is now 37 weeks, 2 days, 14 hours, 32 minutes, and 17 seconds pregnant! In other words, she could officially give birth any day now. The doctor told us that anything after the 37 week mark is considered safe. At her last appointment, she was dilated to a 2 and was about 50% effaced. While those numbers give us hope that she may deliver a bit earlier than her due date of July 31, we know that pregnant human bodies have minds of their own and don't really care that it's been nearly 100 degrees for the past 6 weeks! Sara has the first of her weekly appointments this Thursday and we hope to see some further progression.

For all those who may not know, we are having a boy. We have decided to name him Cameron Scott and cannot wait to meet him. Besides being chubby and healthy, Sara's only requirement is that he has a lot of hair. To tell you the truth, I'm actually a bit scared she will disown him if he doesn't! So, please join me in my prayers for hair on this kid's head! Please enjoy the fun pictures of our little Cam. Our plans are to continue posting on a regular basis, and not necessarily all about the baby, so stay tuned for more!
