Oops, I forgot

I've been tagged by Brittany. If I do not do something the minute I see it, I will forget. Hence, like this tag, I saw it probably weeks ago, and was just now reminded to do it. So here it is.

how long have you been married? 1 year and 11 months
how old is your spouse? the big 2-3
who eats more? the Troy boy
who cooks, makes dinner & does laundry? Right now me, but troy helps out a lot during the school year
who controls the remote? both of us. depends who gets it first
who will admit when they are wrong? we usually can't stay mad at each other very long, but troy definitely is better about saying sorry.
who wears the pants? we both wear pants!

Da Browns Da Browns Da Browns

Mom and Dad Brown were in town for a few short days this weekend. As always, we had a fun time. We really do miss being close to family while we are gone for the summers. We went to Mt. Vernon (George Washington's House), ate good food, and caught up on the latest and greatest.

Va Va Virginia Beach

Last weekend Troy and I went to Virginia Beach with our friends Grant and Brittany. It was so nice to get away from the monotony of this job, and spend time with our husbands. We got to the beach pretty early in the morning (around 11) and could not get our swimsuits on fast enough. Of course, the first stop was at the boogie board shop where we made necessary purchases of a boogie board, and sand castle building tools.

We played in the water, which was incredibly warm by the way (for ocean water anyway), and built a fabulous sand castle. After we drank too much salt water and had too much sun for one day we grabbed a bite to eat at a restaurant on the beach. Following the beach we looked at some shops, and then went to the hotel to shower, you can only imagine the sand left behind in that place. We then went to a movie "Get Smart" and then to Macaroni Grill . We really like hanging out with Grant and Brittany and alway have good laughs and stories to share. Overall I do not think that the trip could have gone better. Enjoy the pics.

Pay close attention to the awesome face I am making in this picture. This is due to the valid effort I make every time that I am in the ocean to not get salt water in my mouth. If some does happen to force through my pursed lips... I gag, probably 8 times! (*Warning: there is a boogie board under us in the next picture). It is the only picture of us smiling in the ocean, due to the above mentioned dilemma.
We do not know a single person in this picture, but I do know that it is quality. Do you ever wonder how many people's pictures you are in that you do not know??

Summer Jobs

You really just have to love summer jobs. I am really actually quite fond of them myself. I feel like it is a good chance for me to experience a variety of entry level jobs while getting a discount. Honestly, we know that i am not raking in the dough by any means, in fact I think I might be in the red, but how else would I get to know this line of wonderful products without devoting a couple hours a week the the Wonderful Bath and Body Works. So this is a message to all of you out there, put in your orders now!!

An Adventure

Our 4th of July was a lot of fun. When Troy got off work we headed down on the metro into DC to watch the fireworks. It was kind of a crazy day weather wise with off and on torrential down pours so we were not sure if we wanted to sit outside and get sopping wet. We decided that we had to take advantage of being so close to the Nation's Capital on the 4th and go down there. We got to the Washington Monument just as the fireworks were starting, so we put our blankets down where we were, and sat and watched the fireworks. They really were amazing. Besides the forever long wait to get back on the metro on the way home, we were glad that we got to see the fireworks, and be grateful for our freedom in this wonderful country. Unfortunately we only took one picture, however... what we did get pictures of was our crazy outing to Medieval Times. This place was too funny. We went with a bunch of our friends to this restaurant/performance that was all about the medieval times (hence the name). We ate dinner with our hands and watched thespians at their greatest.
The one picture on the 4th... and it's not even a good one
We had to cheer for the green knight, because that was the color of our hats. He was actually the bad guy.Our friends Jake and Jenna. They are so excited for the show to start, you can just see it in their faces!!Dinner. Drink up!

The Chicken was actually very good... Who doesn't like to eat with their hands??

Seattle/Oregon Trip

This past week and a half we went to Seattle for my Dad's retirement party. Following the party the whole family took a trip to one of our favorite vacation spots, the Oregon Coast. We had so much fun together. Troy was only able to stay for a couple of days, but we had a great time while he was there, and were very sad to see him go. I love my family, we always have so much fun together, and get along so well. Because our family is growing so big it is getting harder and harder to get together, so this was a special treat, and we made lots of great memories. We rode bikes on the beach, we did bubbles with the kids, we went crabbing, played on the beach a lot, and visited the Tillamook cheese factory, and laughed till it hurt. Thanks everyone for making it so great!!
