In the middle of August we had a Farnsworth family reunion in Santa Barbara. We had such a great time while we were there. The entire family was able to come and we were all able to stay in the same house together. It was so nice to visit with everyone and see all the grandkids playing together. I will let the pictures do the talking but we had a great time at the pool, beach, playing games, eating dinner outside, visiting, watching movies, and all together just enjoying being together. Thank you to everyone for all of the efforts that were put in to make this trip possible. It was definantly a memorable vacation and we already miss you all.

1st Birthday

Brodie turned one! Well he is actually about 16 months now, but of course I have to document his first birthday. I have slacked on blogging lately. I have had a hard time finding motivation, but for some reason I have it right now so I will take it and run. Brodie was such a cute little munchkin on his birthday. My parents came into town for the big day and we celebrated with both my family and Troy's family. From the pictures you would think that he devoured the cake, but he actually barely took a bite. He had so much fun ripping it apart and flinging it all over the place. I tried to put a bite in his mouth and he actually spit it out. Too funny. I can't believe the bubbas is growing up to fast.

Milestones:

Half Marathon... Finally

I cannot count the number of times that I have trained for either a half or a full marathon. Due to injuries or races being full, it has never worked out until yesterday. I finally ran in a half marathon race. It was a really good experience. I ran the race with my sister-in-law Rachel, and my friend Summer. We have been training for this race for a while and would run our long runs together. It was really nice because we were all about the same pace, and pushed each other at different times. It rained all night long Friday, and was supposed to rain the day of the race. Luckily the day of the race was perfect it was a great temperature and the sun was out. The only thing that was rough was that the first two miles of the race was on a dirt trail that had turned to mud because of the down pouring of rain the night before. Mud was caked onto our shoes and it was kind of hard to run in. Troy and the other husbands met us around mile 7 to cheer us on. He was sitting in the back of the Truck with Brodie. I wanted to cry. He had made a sign that sad "Run Hard Mom" with a hole in it that Brodie stuck his head it. It was just what I needed at that point. I was starting to get tired, and my back was hurting, and it put a huge smile on my face. We stayed just long enough toe grab a half of a protein bar and give kisses and high fives. The last 3 miles were a little bit of a mental struggle, but we all helped each other through our tired and soar patches. We made it across the finish line at 2:24. Not the fastest time ever, but we all gave it our best and were glad to fulfill that goal. Thanks to all who made it possible to do that run. Here are some not so glorious pictures of the race!
Brodie chewing on his sock while waiting for us to run by.
The sign that Troy made for me and held up as we ran by. So cute!
Rounding the corner to the finish line. (notice large puddle that we had to dodge)

Crawling!

At 10 1/2 months, Brodie is finally crawling. It seems like Brodie is doing so many new things these days. We have really enjoyed watching him grow and learn. He has been content with just sitting and playing with whatever was in reach for so long. Brodie finally decided to go after things out of reach and the result... crawling. We were actually in Arizona at Steph and Carl's house. Brodie and I were there all week to visit and throw a baby shower for Steph. I think he was just trying to keep up with Bo and Ben, and decided that the only way to do that was to become mobile. The last day we were in Phoenix he started to crawl. What a fun memory!

Visit to NYC

A couple of weeks ago Brodie and I went to New York to visit my parents and celebrate my dad's b-day. It was so good to see my parents and visit with them. I just got one picture of the whole trip with Brodster and Grammy. We were at dinner and Brodie is sporting my dad's hip hat. We miss you mom and dad, and are excited for you to come back to the West Coast!

Catch Up

I have been putting off posting because I feel like there is too much to catch up on. Christmas and New Years has come and gone, and we have enjoyed relaxing after the busy holiday. Yes, I am a terrible person and do not have any pictures of our families first Christmas together. We had a fun time with the little Brode man, as we stuck around Albuquerque with the Brown family for Christmas. We left on the 27th of December for Taos, New Mexico with the Browns for a relaxing, and snow filled vacation through the new year. Some of the things that we did in Taos were: 4-wheel, snowboard, play games, take naps, ate lots, and enjoyed good quality time visiting with family. It was a great holiday.

On a different note, the Broders is changing every day. Some things that I want to remeber about Brodie at this age (8 months), is that:
-He got his first snaggle tooth (bottom left)
-He sits really well by himself
-Says: mama, dada, papa, baba, and pretty much anything that goes good with an "a" on the end
-Eats like a champ (unless he is not feeling well)
-Finally sleeps through the night
-Waves bye bye
-Gets really excited to see Troy or I
-Is still a very happy little guys, and melts mommy and daddy's heart everyday with his smiles and snuggles. Sure love our little Brodie

Family Pictures

We finally got family pictures. I don't know why it was so hard, and or took so long for us to get family pictures, but we finally got around to it. Here are some of our favorites!

Lion King style

This was the very last picture the photographer took, and Brodie's face says it all. "I am so done with these pictures"
