Seattle

Where did summer go? It seems like a long time ago that summer started, but at the same time I feel like it went by really fast. We were able to go to Seattle in both June and July. We were able to spend some good time with Grammie and Papa H and some cousins and aunts and uncles that live there too. Oh how I love Seattle in the summer time!

As of Late...

What have we been doing lately?? Well we are actually visiting my parents right now but I will update about that later... But before that we have spent the last little bit:

Potty Training
This little munchkin.

We have definitely had our ups and down, but all things considering it has gone really well. I have been putting off potty training because Brodie and I really both like to get out of the house during the day, so I was dreading being home bound to potty train. He has been ready though. He was already going potty a couple times a day and it was just a matter of buckling down and doing it. I should not speak too soon we are not quite all the way there yet. We are still working on having him tell us when he has to go versus just taking him on a regular basis. The goal is to have him good and potty trained before baby #2 come. Wish us luck. Sure do love this little man.

Just for Smiles

A couple of months ago I took Brodie to a home show that Troy had a booth at. Appearantly I stayed too long because nothing I did could keep Brodie awake...including giving him a waterbottle to drink. Love this little munchkin!

Big Brother

I have never been one to call myself skinny, but my belly is never this size unless I am pregnant. Brodie is going to be a big brother! I am about 21 weeks and we found out last week that it is another boy. We are really excited. This picture was taken at Brodie's birthday party. It is funny how you see yourself a certain way and then you look at a picture and realize something totally different. Baby belly has definantly popped out!

The first 16 weeks were pretty rough and I felt like a terrible mother the entire time, as I let Brodie watch way too many cartoons just to get a little bit more time on the couch. Now that I am feeling much better it has been fun to start to get ready for baby boy number 2. We are really glad that Brodie will have a brother to rough and tumble with.

Two

The Brode man had his second birthday on April 28th. I can't beleive my baby is two. We had such a fun day celebrating with Brodie. When Brodie woke up on the morning of his birthday I could hear him in the kitchen saying balloon balloon. We had gotten Brodie a bouqet of balloons with his favorite Lightning McQueen balloon. He went straight to them tied onto his high chair and then came into our room saying balloon mom balloon. The morning was started off right with a Krispe Kreme doughnut and some yogurt for breakfast. Then we headed to a place called Hoots that has a bunch of blow up toys and a huge jungle gym. Ben, Bo, Breck, Andi and Charlie met us there to play. Naps and lunch took place of course and then afterwards we headed to the Brown's house for a party with family. We did a Cars theme as that is one of Brodie's favorite things right now. After dinner, cake and presents we went swimming. Thanks to all those that came to celebrate with us.

Some things about Brodie at age two:
-He now sleeps in a big boy bed
-Paci is gone (thanks to MIL who weened him while Troy and I were in Vegas)
-This little boy loves to swim and is pretty good. He can hang out all by himself in the pool with the help of floaties
-Broders loves the park and asks me to go there about 4 times a day
-Is talking up a storm and figuring out sentences
-Loves to play with cousins and randomly asks throughout the day about them
-Is feisty and super sweet
-Is quite funny (of course this is bias because I am his mom)

Here are some pics from his b-day:

Yes I will take full credit for decorating his cake

I could not stop laughing at Troy with his goggles.

Easter

This post is going to be mostly pictures, but I must say that I am so thankful for Easter, and the opportunity that we have to celebrate the resurection of our Lord and Savior. The atonement is an incredible gift that we should remeber and use in our lives every day. All of the festivities that go along with Eater are just fluff. A bunch of fun fluff that I thoroughly enjoy.1,3,9,26,27

Resolutions

This year when Troy and I were setting some goals, Troy wrote down that he wanted to compete in something this year. Goal accomplished! Troy ran in a half marathon on April 16th, and then the very next weekend he competed in a sprint triathalon. I was really proud of him in both events. It was funny at both races when he would pass by I would get all choked up. I guess you just know that they are in pain and mixed with feeling proud, that is what happens. Troy ran the half marathon in 1hr. 54 min.  The sprint triathalon which was a 3 mi run, 12 mi bike, and 1/4 mi swim he finished in 1 hr. 19min. Out of the two races he said that he enjoyed the triathalon much more. It was fun to be there for both of them and be able to cheer him on. We were proud of the Charlie Brown!

The last stretch to the finish line

The only pictures I got of the tri were in the pool and then my camera died.
