2011

2011 was a year of moving for us. We started off in Rexburg, Id and moved to Billings, Montana on the 3rd of January. We loved exploring around Billings! The middle of April we saw that admissions for the masters program at ISU changed some things so it would be better for Tanner to go to school there.... so we were off again! We got to Pocatello, Id in the middle of May and have loved being closer to family! We have had lots of fun adventures this year including a trip to the Oregon Coast, my family reunion at Lost Lake, lots of camping and mountain biking, Tanner's family reunion at the beach in California, Thanksgiving here in Pocatello with my mom, Christmas in Utah with the Flakes and many little adventures in between!!! We are excited to see what 2012 has in store for us!!!

City Creek

City Creek is 5 minutes from our house and it it full of amazing mountain biking trails! So today we went and explored! We only have one mountain bike so one went down while the other shuttled and then we switched. It was awesome... I am now addicted! The best part is its freeeee ( well for the most part, if we want to go together we'll have to get another bike) and its super close!

The trail is surrounded by trees and you are so enclosed you feel like you are in the middle of the jungle! We love exploring the outdoors! Heavenly Father has really blessed us with such beauty! We love it!

A little update... finally!

Towards the end of April we went on a drive about 40 minutes from Billings to Red Lodge. Its a little ski resort town and we went up for a picnic. While we were eating we looked over and saw Lola watching the squirrels.

I thought it was the cutest thing with her head sticking under the rail! Had to snap a pic :)

Easter weekend we went to Utah and while we were driving through Ennis, MT, we saw these black bears right off of the road! It was a mamma bear and her cubs! Loved it!

And we have some news......

This is the last picture of Tanners school and of the Billings temple that we will get while we live in Montana because....

We moved to Pocatello, IDAHO!

In January when we moved to Billings we knew it was the right decision! But while we were there some things with Tanners schooling were just not working out. And in the meantime ISU in Pocatello ( which is Tanner's top choice of school anyway) changed some of there curriculum at the beginning of April, so for his education, Pocatello was going to be the best place for us. He will now have less schooling and its going to be way better for his education! We wish ISU would have made the changes last year when we were looking at all the schools but we had a fun adventure in Montana and wouldn't have changed the experience that we had! But let me tell ya we are so excited to be back in IDAHO!!! Closer to family and friends and we both love Idaho!

Here is our place here in Pocatello!

Valentines Day

For Valentines Day this year we wanted to just do something fun but cheap.... so we decided to build a fort! We felt like little kids all over again! It was so much fun.

We watched a movie, ate a yummy dinner, and for desert we had strawberries and chocolate! Don't you love Tanner's chocolate stash....

A couple of weeks ago Mary Jane ( my little 94 corolla with 222,000 miles on her) was not starting all of the time. We were getting worried that she would one day not work at all and we would not be able to sell her. So we found a great deal on a car and traded Mary Jane in. Love the new car... but Mary Jane will be missed. So here is our new Toyota Matrix!

Moving On

After all the fun adventures for New Years we came home sunday and started packing. Two weeks earlier we found out that Tanner had gotten accepted to Rocky Mountain College in Montana. They have a Physicians Assistant program that if you graduate from the school you have an automatic interview. So that is great for Tanner! So we said goodbye to this cute little house we called home for just under 2 years.

Tanners brother Madison, his girlfriend Heidi and Uncle Jim all helped us pack up on Sunday. Then Monday morning we got the Budget truck and our others friends Mike and Bre came to help as well. We tackled the whole house in just a couple of hours! Thanks everyone for the help.

After we got done loading up we all went to lunch at subway. Then we took off to Montana. Tanner drove the Budget truck, Jim drove our truck and I drove our car!

Rocky Mountain College! The campus is beautiful. We were able to take a tour on Friday and see the whole campus.

This is the inside of one of the buildings. Its so gorgeous. The school was built in the 1800's so it was neat to see the historical side of the school.

Tanner is now a battlin bear!
( The bear is made out of pieces from escalators)

We are excited for our new adventure here in Montana!

New Years

We had so much fun for New Years! Tanners uncle Jim came to Rexburg on Thurs before the new year. Friday we started in Island Park and snowmobiled over to West Yellowstone and ate lunch. It was fun riding on the streets in West Yellowstone and parking the snowmobile to go in and eat. That day it was -14 degrees. We didn't realize how cold we were until we thawed out while eating lunch!

This is us just after eating lunch.

After snowmobiling we went back to Rexburg and picked up Tanners brother Madison. When we finally got home we realized that both Tanner and Uncle Jim had gotten frost bite. Crazy! Saturday we all went up to Salmon and hiked into Goldbug hot springs. Its about a 2 mile hike! That night we stayed in a little cabin just outside of Salmon! The whole weekend was so much fun!!! Thanks everyone for such a great time!

rafting

This summer we had the opportunity to float the white water section in Jackson!! We were able to get a sit on top kayak from the ORC at BYU-Idaho for only 15 dollars!! A guided trip is about $80 a person! It was so much fun!!
