Oh what a week it has been

We have had so many changes this past week at our house and in our family! Last Friday, we went to the doctor for an ultrasound and found out that we are actually having a BOY! The doc couldn’t get a great shot but that’s what he’s thinking. That would be partly my fault because I was laughing so much that the my belly would move his camera scope thing and then the little pickle started covering up all the parts we needed to see! That's exactly what happened last time and that's why the tech's guess wasn't quite accurate.

We had a pretty busy weekend after that preparing for my sisters, brother-in-law and nephew to come visit. Isn't he the cutest thing you've ever seen?! I could seriously kiss his cheeks all day long. I can't wait for our boys to be firends! I was so excited to see them and for all of us to head to the river for Thanksgiving that I think I might have made the baby a little too excited as well cause he decided to see if he could make his way to this world a little early and hang out with us!
I had been in some pain since Sunday but thought nothing of it cause I was so busy, but by the time Tuesday came around I could hardly stand up so I decided to call the doc and check-in. He told me to come by his office and that worked out great with my plan for the day cause we were going to head to the hospital right after to meet our new niece who had been born that morning.
I joked around with Tanman that it would be so funny if I had to go to the hospital the same day my sister-in-law did to have her baby, and guess what I did (not as funny as I thought it would be). Well I was definitely in pre-term labor and had to get hooked up to machines and get meds to keep this little guy in. The doc took some tests that didn’t turn out the way he wanted so here I am, in bed and probably stuck here till March. Needless to say the rest of the week did not turn out the way I hoped. I have been on the couch since Tuesday and we definitely never made it to the river.

By the weekend we did, however, welcome a new addition to the family. We are officially dog owners temporarily (Tanman likes to remind me). We lucked out with the cutest, sweetest boxer/bulldog! She is adorable and so fun! We love her and I’m definitely secretly hoping that “temporarily” turns into “permanent”.

Ooh Baby Baby

My imagination got the best of me the other day as I stumbled onto one of those funny and ridiculous sites that mesh the faces of you and your significant other into one slightly misfortunate looking child.  Let me tell you that the chuckles uncontrollably burst out of my mouth as soon as I saw the picture that developed from the glamour shots I chose to use. I’m thinking our kids will be absolutely adorable no matter what because, let’s face it, who doesn’t think their own children are the most beautiful things ever?! I wish that I had saved the picture and posted it, but I guess I will have to let you all be the judge. Here are a few pics of Tanman and I growing up so you can decide if our kids will be beauty pageant contestants or pig farmers. If our kids are, on the off chance, entirely unpleasant looking we all know that they are gonna rock the world with the coolest personalities ever.

Hallow's Eve

Could Halloween be the best holiday ever? I think so! My only wish was that the weather would decide to cool down enough for fun fall sweaters and boots. I mean the heat pretty much turned our pumpkins into liquid before we could even enjoy them! As grateful as I am for nice weather (we spent our entire Saturday playing at the pool) is it too much to ask for a little chill in the air? Just a thought. Here is a summary of our fun Halloween:

We tried to make our costume as clever as last year’s

but it’s a little difficult to be extra creative with a baby bump. So we decided to play on that instead

I did, however get some pretty interesting looks at the party we went to and quite a few compliments on how "real" my stomach looked. All in all it was a pretty fun night and I think we rocked it. Now it's time to put lights up and turn on the Christmas music right?
