pumpkinning

Last weekend we took G to a pumpkin patch so that we could take the obligatory picture of your kid playing with the pumpkins on their first Halloween and I was all for it! We had so much fun! It was the first time that I had ever been in a corn maze. It reminded me a little bit of The Shining and the creepy movie Children of the Corn that my uncle locked me in the room and made me watch when I was little while he dressed up in a Jason mask and starting banging on the window to freak us out! Anywho, We had a blast! We went with Tanner's brothers and sister and all our kids.

After the pumpkin patch and the corn maze, we played around on the blog and teeter-totter till the sun started to set.

After the farm, we decided to be brave and take the kids out to dinner. In a word it was eventful. The kids had fun at least and that's the point of it all anyway, isn't it? (sorry for the phone quality pictures)

mover and a shaker

G has become mobile! let me tell you that this new development makes the diapering process that much more unmanageable. The second (and I mean the second) this kid is diaper free he is off and crawling... free as a bird. For the sake of G's bottom, I will leave those pictures for another post or to embarrass him in front of a future main squeeze and part with some of him in full attire. I apologize for the phone quality photos.

brrrrrrrrrrr

Last weekend Tan, G and I drove up with Tan's brother to the family Cabin in the mountains and spent the weekend there with the inlaws too! They have had the cabin for about a year but I got put on bed rest the day after they closed on it so this is the first time that I was able to check it out and it was a ton of fun! The drive is pretty short which is nice for a weekend getaway. When we picked up Uncle Mac, G was wound asleep but the second his uncle was sitting by him, he was wide awake and ready to play. He had so much fun! G never even took his eyes off his Mac the entire time! As we we drove up we got to see G's very first snowstorm. It was crazy crazy blizzardy! We LOVED it! It was a little scary at one point when we went over a bridge (my phobia) and couldn't see the tailights of the car 50 feet in front of us but we made it there safely and it was fun to experience some fall weather and see the trees covered in snow. When we arrived we lit a fire in the fireplace and cuddled. Heaven.
A little while later when we had mostly warmed up and G was napping Tan, Mac and I decided to do a little shooting and practice with Tan's newest toy. The cabin is on a lot of land right next to a state park that is huge so we went down to the state park where there are some mounds and a range set up. We didn't last too long because we only brought one pair of gloves and rotating that pair didn't do much for our frozen hands but it was still fun!

That night we all went out to a super delish restaurant and G loved the food! Can you tell?

In the morning, I came out of my room and saw this: ....(Melt. he LOVES his uncle)

The second day was a bit warmer and we were able to do a lot more and play around on the quads. We decided to put G on for a picture but he wanted Tan to drive him around too. He loved it so much that when Tan stopped, G kept hitting the top of the quad and looking at Tan like "um, let's go!" When I showed him the videos of himself on the quad the kid could not stop laughing!

This first one is so funny because G does EXACTLY the same thing that Tan does with his head before they start! He really looks up to his daddy!

Once the quadding fun was done it was time for a photoshoot and a nap.

love.
