lessons learned

(dad's twin)

The Guns is coming up on 16 months and everyday he shows me so many new things that his mind has figured out. This kid baffles me! He's a genius I tell you!
... or at least I'm biased.

He figured out how to get out of his carseat which comes in handy for him when traveling to and from grammy and grampy's. It's not, however, quite convenient for me when I'm driving by my lonesome and he's roaming the back seat. Oy Vey.

That little development lead to his discovery of freeing himself from the highchair.... which led to the purchase of a new hightech super-seatbelted highchair instead. (I think I'm reaping what I sowed as a youngin)

Oh ya... He also figured out how to climb on things and he is quite proud:

Gunnar is also crazy talented! He even figured out how to whistle:
Believe me, I tried to teach him to use his mouth, but this way is a little bit more entertaining so I didn't really push it.

He is also learning how to feed himself... We eat clean in this house

He's even learned to dress himself!

Goodness I love him!

The G is mobile... well more mobile than before. In fact, this kid is kind of out of control at this point. He is just so stinking cute and I can hardly handle the sight of his chubby little legs walking around! I'm savoring the sweetness of his little arms spread out for a big hug as he runs over to me before he grows too big and becomes to cool for me. I'm in love.

up to speed (part 1 of many...)

So in the past month we have had sooo many things going on and quite a few changes! Right after Easter, G and I drove our diesel machine to California. The trip was supposed to be for a weekend where we could see our family, play at E's birthday party and make it to our dear Denny's funeral. Once the youngster and I welcomed ourselves at Grammy and Grampy's we found out that we had not one but two funerals to go to, so we stretched our trip out another week to be with our friends and family. (Any longer and my heart would have missed Mr. L far too much...)

Grammy and Grampy "suckered" up to G the minute we showed up and gave him his first lollipop! He was a little bit excited ... at least he shared!

G and W got to spend the afternoon with eachother too playing on W's new playground! They were so funny to watch. It is so nice to have the boys so close in age. They are the cutest things... (I might be partial)

Boys will be boys

Towards the end of our adventure, FaceTime just wasn't cutting it anymore so we finally ventured back to home to give dad hugs and kisses. The drive was so peaceful...

... until he figured out how to wiggle out his of carseat. great.
