our newest birdie has arrived!
"Every good and perfect gift comes from above."
James 1:17
Virginia Kate was born 2 weeks early, August 30, 2010, at 3:53 PM and weighed in at 7lbs 2.5oz, 19.5 inches.
This was the most amazing moment...I will never forget the joy and thankfulness in my heart when I first saw my beautiful baby girl. What a gift from the Lord.

There is nothing like a daddy and his little girl. This was the first time Sam held her...such a precious moment.

My mother, sister and Sam were all in the delivery room... they were a great team...they kept me going as I pushed for almost 5 straight hours!! I could not have done it without them!

The sweet nurses made Virginia Kate her own special hat... they added a bow to it so it would be girly!! So cute!

Virginia Kate is so blessed to get to know some of her great grandparents... Mimi and Bop!! They actually had 2 great grandchildren arrive on the same day!! My cousin Katherine in Colorado gave birth to Zoe Elizabeth Bond... it was a special day!

Virginia Kate's birthday was also the same day as her Yia Yia and Papou's 41st anniversary!! What a great anniversary gift it was for them!! The arrival of their first grandchild!

Mary Kate and Josh Whelan drove all the way from Oxford just to see VK. And Emarie drove all the way from Nashville... y'all don't know how much that meant to us!! I am so thankful for all your friendships!

Gigi and Jack ooooing and ahhhhing over their new grandchild! You are already so loved Virginia Kate!!

Virginia Kate and her Yia Yia Mary Katherine and "Big" Yia Yia (aka great grandmother) Katherine! Who would ever believe that big yia yia is 90??? She looks amazing!!

Proud Gigi! Gigi was the best... so helpful in everyway in helping make my transition to motherhood easy! She stayed with us for a week and I cried when she left!! She was so helpful and loving and we loved the extra hours in the morning we got to sleep in while Gigi spent some one on one time with Virginia Kate!

Our litte Punkin!
Those are just a few pictures for now.. words can't do justice to the wonderful gift last week was in mine and Sam's lives... We are so thankful for all your prayers, support, gifts, meals, flowers, cards, and love! Thank you so much! We are loving parenthood and feel so blessed that the Lord would lend us Virginia Kate to raise and take care of. Our greatest prayer for our child is that she would never know a day that she didn't know the Lord as Savior of her life... we are eternally grateful.
