CLOSER OBSERVATION

When I was in elementary school, over 50 years ago, I had a pet toad. I loved it to pieces. Took it to school for show and tell but it escaped. Made me very sad. So imagine my delight seeing this little one sitting on a patio chair, five decades or so, later… I almost missed it because it blended right into the background. I thought it was a leaf. Have you ever ALMOST missed seeing something, that under closer observation revealed itself to you?

TRICK OR TREAT & CANDY CORN

I’m getting antsy for autumn to come. These hot days of summer are getting to me. The humidity especially. So imagine my delight when I saw CANDY CORN sitting in a bin at a store I frequent. It reminded me of the fall season, up and coming... though still months away.

I screeched with excitement. And that only intensified when I saw Halloween stuff out and about... to boot.

Though for most people, I admit, it’s a tad bit early to see these seasonal items on display... but NOT for me. The timing was perfect. Gave me the emotional boost I need to get through the rest of this oppresive heat wave... one day at a time!
