Random pics of 2012

I am sure I will have to do more than just this post. I just wanted to update with some pictures to prove that we were in fact alive within these past two years.

T man started preschool this year. He really needed to get out and so something on his own without Jade by his side. It was a little rough on the first day. He now loves it.. thank goodness.
Jayden absolutely LOVES school. She is also apart of the Chinese immersion program. It is crazy seeing her talk with her Chinese teacher in Chinese. I might have to start learning the language.
first crush!
Hanging with the cousins at the State Fair.
Yellowstone was a blast. It has turned out to be a fun vacation for the family every year. I had never been to Yellowstone until I met Rusty. It has been a lot of fun. Surprisingly, the kids do pretty good with all the driving that needs to happen in Yellowstone.
more pics to come... the little guy needs a nap. I will post more soon.

New beginnings...

Hello . I can't even believe that it has been this long since I last updated my blog. Things have been so crazy... life changing since I last updated. I am not entirely sure as to why I was so secretive when I was pregnant with Austin. For one really good reason I didn't update was because I am so darn sick when I am pregnant. I just didn't have it in me to sit down and update my blog acting like I was not on my death bed.. ok I can't prove it was my death bed, but it sure felt like it. Me and Rusty were dealing with what to do with our next big step, buying a house. That seemed to eat up all of my time. I felt like we were constantly looking at houses. It seemed to never end. We kind of just stumbled across our realtor that we end up using. We initially didn't want one. We just wanted to do this on our own with out dealing with a realtor. So when we said yes to this lady about showing us some houses... it was mainly because we didn't know how to say no. We felt like we could do a pitty date with our realtor and then move on. Well, the very first visit we walked through our house. I loved it when I saw it on line and Rusty was on board after he actually walked through it. He didn't fall in love with it like I did when he saw it online. I can't say it is because there is some fancy setup to the house at all. It really is your basic home. But for some reason I loved it. I begged Rusty to look into it..he did. Only to find that there were like 6 offers on the house. We were bummed. We pretty much had to walk away from it. They were asking more than what we wanted to pay. I know Rusty would never jump into the first house he saw paying more money than we had planned on right off the bat. So the weeks went by with us looking at house after house after house after house. I was starting to get so frustrated. We just couldn't go through a house with the same excitement like we did with that first house. We seemed to compare them all to the first house. I was getting so frustrated! I was due to have my baby boy in a couple of weeks and I really wanted to come home to a new house. New beginning all together. So I randomly pulled up the MLS number to the first house and found that not only was the first house still on the market but that they had dropped the price right where we needed it!! I remember it was a Sunday evening when I saw it. So bummed I couldn't call someone RIGHT NOW. I ran to show Rusty and he agreed to try to put in an offer the next day. Needless to say, we put in the offer and about a month later we were approved! The house was ours! I am not even going to into details about how the rest of the time went before closing. Rusty was out of town and I needed to close on the house by myself. Not exactly what I pictured when me and Rusty bought our first home together. But it was done. I had a home! We closed on Dec 3rd and moved in the next week. All I can say is... I will hire someone to clean the next house if the previous owners owned any pets with hair!!! This entire house was furry! Every inch of this house needed to be scrubbed down. The house looked so clean.. but little did I know... hair was EVERYWHERE!! I was way too big pregnant to do what I wish I could. Thank goodness I had family come and help clean the place up. It was only a week later that I ended up have Austin. December 16th Austin was born. I was able to come home with my new little guy. It was so nice! It is nice to finally have a place to call home. The kids love it. Although it was pretty comical watching them fall like flies. We have wood floors through out the house and the kids weren't use to that at all. They slipped at least 3 times a day each! And hard! They now have the hang of it. We have been here now for almost exactly a year now. I absolutely love my neighborhood... love my neighbors.. love my ward. I am so lucky. I know..I KNOW.. we were meant to be in this house. It just came together so crazy like. I could not be happier with how this all worked out. I am able to stay home with my kids. Which that will need a blog entry all by itself! But I do love it. I apologize for people that are reading this (I doubt anyone even knows I am back on) but we just got a new laptop, which is why I am able to update, and I keep pushing buttons to make paragraphs..and it all goes back to one big story. Sorry. But if you know me, you know I am not good at that stuff anyway. :) Hopefully I will be able to update more often. Not so much so people and can read.. but I have always been so big on journals.. and updating things in our lives together. I like that I am able to add little bits with pictures and blab on about things. I don't take the time to blab about things in my journals because...well because I have to handwrite all my blabbing. If I type it..I can blab a lot quicker without the tired hand of writing. :) I know this was a really quick update... but it is an update right?? That will just have to work for now. I will hopefully figure out how to update pictures with this laptop and then we will be in full swing! ha ha...

Oops...

Okay, so I am officially off the blog wagon. I am trying to get back on. Ever since I started taking pictures with my new phone... it just isn't as easy to download to my computer. If it isn't easy... I don't do it. Sad but oh so true! I am going to try an update you soon with a bunch of pics. After you wait for sooo long, there just isn't enough time to really update you. We are currently looking at buying a new home and that seems to take up all my time and energy. Hopefully, I will have good news soon in regards to our home.

We are all currently still alive. Good news right?? I will have an update soon with pics... I promise! Or at least crossing my fingers that I do...

Busiest month of my life!!

I don't even know where to start. I honestly couldn't include all the stuff that went on in April. I had 5 cakes to do that month. Rusty was out of town for a week.. He had to prepare for finals like crazy. This meant I needed to be in "single mother" satus a lot longer than usual. Family visiting from out of town for my cousins wedding. Jayden turned 4!!! Which also meant planning a fun filled party.. since Dad was out of town she had two parties.. She loved it!! Jaydens first dance competition.. A roadtrip by myself with the kids to St. George. Talon had an earache on the way home. I felt so bad for that kid. It was a Sunday and not a single instacare was open. He screamed the whole way home!! It was a long ride home. :( We had to talk in sacrament.. which freaked me out like crazy!! Trust me, I am still leaving plenty out. I am officially EXHAUSTED!! UGH!! I am going to use that as my excuse as to why it has taken me forever to even post about April.

I am happy to see the beginning of a new month. This month couldn't start better... Rusty is done with school!!!!!! As long as I have known Rusty, He has been going to school. This will be so nice to have him home. The kids will LOVE having him home more. EXCITED doesn't even begin to tell you how happy I am to have him done with school. I am so proud of him. It hasn't been easy for him, or us at home. He has done an amazing job working full time and finishing his Masters while still taking care of all our needs here at home. YAHOO!!!

Here are a few of the pictures I have for this month.

Jayden has been loving dance!! I love it. She loves being up on stage. It is cute! She was so pumped for her trophy. She did a jazz and a hip hop dance. They took first in both dances. Seeing all the little girls up there shaking it... hilarious. Love it. Good Job Jayden!

They kids seemed to love St. George. We needed to help my Grandma with some landscaping at her house. The kids were more than happy to pitch in...

Here are some of the cakes I did this month. Liz, I really must love you for taking that cake up those hills. I said some not so nice words as the road kept getting higher.. and higher... But it go there in one piece. THANK GOODNESS.

And Liz YOU LOOKED BEAUTIFUL at your wedding. Absolutely loved your dress. You looked amazing.. and I am so happy for you guys. Thanks for letting me make your cake! And Sarah, You looked amazing with your LITTLE belly. You will be an amazing Mommy!

This cake is for my cousin Cara. This cake was crazy just because I wanted to make the flower out of gumpaste. I don't really do a lot with gumpaste. I tend to keep things pretty safe in my eyes with things I try. Gumpaste was out of my comfort zone but have always wanted to try working with it.. so, Cara was nice enough to let me use her cake as the experiment gumpaste flower. I think it turned out okay. She also wanted me to do a quick groomscake for her hubby. They are from Texas and they wanted a little shout out to his school.. so we made a longhorn cake. I would love to rewind and redo it.. but it worked out okay.

Jayden had a blast with all the stuff we did for her birthday.. I decorated her roomm just like how my parents did mine as a child. It was my favorite part about my birthday. I was so darn excited to do it. We hung candy on yarn all over her room while she was sleeping. After I did I was worried I was going to freak her out in the middle of the night. Thank goodness she slept through the night and was sooo excited with the candy. This will be a tradition for sure in my family. Too much fun.

My awesome friend Erin went and played with us at Chucky Cheese on her birthday. Rusty was out of town so it was fun to go and do something on her birthday. She thought all the balloons and birthday songs were just for her... I was totally okay with her thinking that. :) She had a hello kitty cake..didn't take a picture.. but I did make her a Barbie doll cake. It is a little shout out to when I was little. I did attempt this cake once and it fell apart.. so I said I will give it one more shot before she gets brownies!! Thank goodness the second attempt worked somewhat better... I just didn't get to spend much time on it. Everyone was on there over. But Jade liked it.. all that matters right?

First attempt

final cake

I will remember to get Jayden ready before I take pictures... ha ha. .

I can't believe she is already 4.. oh how it flys by!! Freaks me out.

I will have to post more later.. I tried posting this earlier and it lost all that I put down..ARGH!! so now I have spent WAY too much time trying to post all of this AGAIN.. I will have to stop here and hopefully post more later. I'm computer'd out.

Month of February

So, I am gonna try and give a quick update to my lovely busy month of February.
My 5 year anniversary was on the 3rd! Yahoo for us, we made it to 5 years!! ha ha. Who'd a thunk!

Jayden and Talon had their lovely dentist appointments. Come to find out, Jayden isn't a light weight either. The drugs they gave her.. didn't do a single thing. She was fun though. I could have sat and watched her talk all day with that fat numb lip of hers. She would try and take a drink and couldn't figure out why it was going down her chest. She would try it a couple times and then look at me with such a sad confused face and say "Mommy, I am really trying I promise" it was sad. I couldn't help but chuckle! he he he... Needed my camera.

Me and my friend Erin are having a blast finding fun little crafts to do.. this one is our latest. It turned out cute. Erin did all the running around (Thanks Erin) for the candle sticks and jars and such... It is a fun festive craft. And who can complain about having the fun holiday candies all the time!?!

Talon has had his fevers again this month. Poor kid was miserable. It is so sad in our house when he is down. Not to mention he had the bacterial pink eye.. cute for photos (giving you fare warning before the picture)! So now I am just enjoying the 3 week break before he gets another fun filled fever. Gotta love it. (I don't)

I don't have any cute pictures uploaded, but Jayden is getting ready for her first dance competition. It will be fun. She is doing a cute hip hop dance to "Who's afraid of the big bad wolf". I am hoping she doesn't freeze at a competition setting. She loves being up on the "big stage"... So I am hoping she likes this just as much. I will have to add a clip of her dance. pretty cute!

I also just another cake. Shannan is a friend from as far back as I can remember.. I felt bad that I wasn't able to do the main cake for her party.. So, I had to make a cute smash cake for her little girl that turned 1. It was fun. I am not normally very good at doing "birthday" style cakes. But this one was fun.... if nothing else. Hope she liked it.

We also took the kids to Disney on Ice.. They LOVED it. Jayden made sure to sing out loud with Mulan. Her favorite song is from Mulan.. she would yell out hello and wave to all the princesses as they skated by. They had fun. Talon danced like a fool in his chair. For some reason that kid can jam out the best while sitting. Pretty darn cute to watch. Jayden kept giving me random "I Love you's" while we were there. I guess I will have to do that again.

After the Disney on ice show Talon was still ready to party I guess. When everyone else was in bed and ready to sleep, Talon got ahold of the baby lotion and covered his head with lotion. I went in to tuck him back in.. as I went to kiss his little head, I realized he smelled a ton better than when I put him down. Sure enough, his head was COVERED in lotion. He thought he was pretty funny. I got a fuzzy picture of him because he couldn't stop jumping and laughing at what he'd done. Lovely.

On a very unimportant note... I actually turned 30 this month! Ugh!! I never thought I would ever turn 30. That was always 10 yrs down the road.. and here I am!

As I am finishing this post Jayden just came in the room..
Jayden: Mom, Dad needs to talk to you right now.
Me: I will go downstairs in a minute
Jayden : No, he really needs to talk to you!
Me: Did Daddy tell you what he needed?
Jayden: Yes, he needs to talk to you about Dinosaurs and Prophets.
Me: Well then, I will go talk to him.

What an experience!!

So, Talon had a dentis appointment on Tuesday. I swear by all accounts that it was not scheduled until the 8th. I put it in my phone right after I got off the phone. Last weekend I got the call confirming the appointment for Talon on that following Tuesday. Why do I care you ask? Well, it was decided that Rusty was going to attend this appointment. Mainly because Talon is in a HUGE Dad phase right now. He thinks Dad can fix EVERYTHING! AND because they needed to sedate him for the appointment. I know I would probably fall apart if I had to go. So we knew it would be better for Rusty to go. Since THEY had me down for the wrong day that I couldn't reschedule, I had to go. {ugh}

The plan is to hold your little one in the waiting room. They come out and give him a shot, he then falls asleep in like 60 seconds in your arms. They come out and get your sleeping child and take him back. This is when they put the IV in and do the necessary work on their mouth. Shouldn't be that bad right? So there was one couple there that has already send their child back and were just waiting and one couple that showed up after me. So, they come out and give Talon the shot. He just simply said "owie" and then he was fine. He was just excited about the spiderman bandaid. She said to hold on to him, it should happen fairly quickly. Well... she came out a minute later and Talon is still bright eyed and bushy tailed. She was a little confused by this and just said, I will give him another minute. Came out a minute later and Talon just looked at her and smiled. I guess Talon is not a light weight by any means. The stuff did not phase him. So now I am a little worried because the last thing I want is for them to give him more and my kid not wake up. (Yes, I am a worry freak!) So, she then says "I guess you will need to come back with me" so I follow her back in the room where we then put laughing gas on him. He of course doesn't like that. The shot doesn't even make this kid relax. So I have one arm and the holding the gas on his nose.. the nurse on the other side is holding the other arm and helping with the left foot. This is where they will be putting the IV!! In his foot!! I couldn't look. Poor kid. Then the dentist came in and held down his tummy and the right foot. I tried to keep his attention.. but the poor guy kept saying "hold me Mommy!" "owie" "hold me". Finally after they got the IV in it took all of 10 second for him to fall asleep. I smiled at the group that helped pin my two year old down and walked out. As soon as I opened the door to the waiting area, tears just started coming. I felt so bad how this all had to happen. It was suppose to be such a simple thing. As I sat there, it was time to put out the little girl next to me. They gave her the shot and sure enough, 60 minutes later, she was out cold. Oh how I wish it was that simple for me.

I thought it was gonna be a long day because the first couple has been back with their little guy forever waiting for little guy to wake up. You can't take your child home until they can lift up their own heads and start to act like they are "with it" and drinking some liquids. By the time that first couple left they came and told me I could go see Talon. As soon as I turned the corner that kid sat up and reached out for me and let me hold him. I asked to see his teeth and he just lifted his head straight up, opened his mouth wide and said "fixed!" The nurses were just so surprised he was able to do that. They gave him a juice box and I think with in 1 minuted he had that thing chugged. It was hilarious. They all think my kid is a freak of nature.

Boy am I glad it is over. I just get so nervous when it comes to stuff like this. Being a Mom has turned me into such a whimp!! Boy what a lovely experience.... {sigh}

Wow.. I am struggling with blogging.

For some reason it seems like I just don't have time to sit and update my blog!! I will try and do a ton better. Especially because I need to keep my cute nieces updated over in England!! I have started my own little "England Money Jar" I would love love love to visit them!! If anyone feels bad for me that I have never been to England, feel free to donate all your money to me!! Or free skymiles... I won't be picky. :) So here are a bunch of completely random pictures to try and catch everyone up to speed as to what has been going on in my little world...

Jayden is always asking for a little "photo shoot". Pretty funny. I have so many different poses from this kid.. it is hilarious. I just sit back and laugh while she poses away. Good times.

We took the kids to the BYU vs UTAH basketball game. They loved it. Jayden danced away in the isle. I was born and raised a Utah fan.. and even when I got married I always rubbed in Rusty's face that I was a Utah fan. He is a BIG TIME BYU fan.. ugh! So needless to say, a couple unsportsmanship like conversations have been had in our home. ha ha... BUT.. having gone to a couple of these events, I find myself leaning more and more towards BYU... not really because of the team but because of the fans. Oh my gosh. I cannot believe the things that are said from the Utah fans about BYU.. and so many other things when we go to these games. I am almost embarrassed to say I am rooting for the same team as them. The fans are horrible!! Granted, I know there are some good fans out there.. and I apologize if you are one of them.. but lately I have been just amazed at the utah fans. grrrrr!! Sorry for the tangent.. but it had to be said. Anyway, the kids had a blast at the game. I am just praying they don't pick up on the words that were said around us.. :) Awkward!!

If you haven't tried any of these chocolate oreo pops.. YOU NEED TO. I love them. They are fun to make and very cute if I may say so. Everyone liked them. Or so they say. I gave a buch out for Christmas. Looked really cute for parties too. My good friend Erin's little girl had a princess party therefore, we had to have some oreo pops for that! Way cute. She made them with pink and purple chocolate.. stinkin cute!!

I made another one of the castle cakes for the princess party. It had a rocky start (which made me nervous) I made the cake at my mother-in-laws and I don't think I made the frosting the same.. which was a disaster. I think I talked more than paying attention to what I was doing. So it had me a little nervous.. but I covered it up enough that you can't tell that it was a struggle...too much. I was soo happy to hear her little girl say she loved the cake. That is all that mattered. That is why I love making cakes for little kids.. they are easy to please!

She had a cute idea for the candy buffet... Load the kids up with sugar.. then send them home. ha ha.

(Rusty would kill me if he knew I put this picture in.. ha ha) He doesn't read the blog.. so what he doesn't know won't hurt him... Don't you love the 80's lookin head or forehead slash ear warmer thingy?? Hot, right?
Then we spent some time up in Morgan with the Tattn family. I thought I had pictures of them on the sled with the horse.. but I guess I only video taped that. They loved being pulled behind the horse. It was fun being in Morgan with the family. Aunt Lauren came over from Connecticut with her cute little girl Addie. We had a little party for Addie. She turned 1.. technically she will turn one Feb 4th. But the picture of Talon waiting in line makes me realize how big my little boy is getting. My kids are growing up .. .. . and IT SCARES ME TO DEATH!!!

Talon has started the year off with one of his famous fevers... ugh! He spiked at 103 which isn't as bad as it could have been. (and has been). Then two nights later he woke up at about 2:45am screaming about his ear. He was pulling smacking his ears. Asking mommy and daddy to "take it out! take it out" :( poor little guy. Took him into the doctors and had a "bulging ear infection" He seems to be doing better. Thank goodness.
