So Jayden had her dance recital on Saturday. She just loves being up on that stage. I just love watching her. I am sure it is because I grew up dancing, but I love the chaos that comes with dance performances. Running like crazy to get them changed... all of it. Believe it or not, Talon was in one of the dances. Although, when it came time to dance, he decided against dancing. I am sure Rusty had a "pep talk" with him. I can't say Rusty was all that excited about him dancing. :) One day I will have to share how it all came about with him dancing. The kids have just had a blast doing it. They danced the whole time on the side lines while everyone else danced. Talon danced like crazy in his seat while watching. He was content with dancing in his seat and that was it. I thought Jayden did really good. She did three different dances. Jazz, Ballet and tots clogging. Busy girl.
she is the one on the end
.
There is stud Talon with cousin Kaily, cousin Landon and Jayden posing.
Jayden also performed at the Dickens Festival. I love going to the Dicken's Festival. I am surprise about how so many people don't really know about it. It has a ton of little boutique style shops. Right up my alley. Rusty kept me walking fast through the whole thing. Needless to say, I didn't get to buy anything I wanted. Thanks hubby.
Other than the dance schedule this week... I've been busy with a chocolate demonstration I was suppose to show. I am not all that sure why they asked me to do it.. but it was actually kind of fun. I had chocolate all over the place. I came across and awesome home made caramel that I love! It seriously takes 5 minutes to make. Love it! If anyone is in need of a caramel recipe, let me know. If you dip marshmallows with caramel and roll in rice krispie's it is way yummy! Good gift for neighbors. Oh AND I also made an apple pie from scratch! I have always wanted to be a much much better cook. To cook things from scratch is a HUGE thing for me!! My mother in law helped me with this recipe. This pie you cook in the oven inside a paper bag. I thought that was a crazy idea! Thought for sure it would catch on fire... nope! I love it!
My friend Glen at work made me a cute christmas tree stand to put my Oreo pops. Turned out pretty cute! I'm always bribing that guy to make things for my projects! So thanks to him!! I have those pics on a different card... I will add those pics soon. Oreo pops... you have to try!!

Late Halloween Post..
Sorry, life has been for some reason, hectic. So, here is a late post with the kids Halloween pics. My Mother in Law does our kids costumes for Halloween. Crazy? Yes!! Amazing? Absolutely! She does an amazing job with the costumes. I am so happy she does them. I feel bad though... she stays so darn busy making costumes for everyone.. but they all love it.
Of course Jayden is still into being a princess. She wanted to be Belle for Halloween. So that made Talon the Beast. This Halloween they didn't get to parade around as much as they would have liked. The weather was horrible. Got Jayden all cute, as far as hair goes... If you have ever played with Jayden's hair, you know it is not an easy task!! As soon as we stepped out in the rainy weather... it was all over. Oh well.. she still looked cute in her dress. Jayden loves playing in that dress. She puts it on all the time.
Talon is hilarious in his costume. I couldn't stop smiling at the pair. I just giggle at the pictures. They were a cute bunch. Next year I am making Rusty dress up!! I loved the little jacket on Talon. He just looked so cute walking away with his coat tails and tail hanging out. Pretty funny.

More cake...
I am sure you are all sick of seeing another cake that I have done. I don't know what it is about cakes. You stress out like crazy when it is a wedding cake you have to make. You swear half the time while making it... and then you say this is the last one! Ha ha ha... good times. Slowly my cursing in the kitchen has gone down. I am starting to relax a little. There is something to be said for when you finally put the cake on the table, finish it off with flowers..(or whatever) and stand back and feel like you have just climed Mount Everest. Doesn't matter how small or simple the cake is. You are just so happy to have finished it. You really feel like you completed something. That might sound wierd to some of you... or all... but that is what keeps me doing the next cake that comes around. The "fun" kickes in when it turns out. When it doesn't...... I am just happy I don't carry a loaded gun. There are some serious issues when things don't happen like you had hoped. :)
Here is a simple but cute cake that a good friend I grew up with asked me to make. It was her second marriage so she didn't need anything too crazy. Sometimes those are the best ones anyway. I was glad she asked me to do it. I haven't see that family in many many years. My Dad did the wedding ceremony. He did an awesome job. Love that guy!

I always feel much better after getting our pictures taken. Things change so fast with the little ones. We have a ton of pictures of each other... but not many good family pictures. The kids were better this year. last year it seemed like a circus act to get them to smile. So this little session was actually a lot of fun with the kids. Thank you to Natalie for taking these pictures for us!!
I am excited for this little project we are doing at my friends house with these pictures... I have to narrow my pictures down to one family picture. Not sure which one to pick. I do have to say, I like this problem. Normally, I am lucky to get ONE good picture of us all. Hmmmm..... decisions, decisions. .jpg)

Recent cakes...
I made these cakes for a girl in my ward. The little one was for her actual wedding. I think it was a Thursday night that she told me she was getting married that Saturday. They just randomly decided to get it done. She wasn't planning on having a cake there. I couldn't sleep thinking that she wasn't gonna have a cake.. I mean a cake is what makes it a wedding right? So, I hurried and made a small version of her cake. I felt much better. :) It's all about how I feel right?
I just got done with her main cake for her reception (a month later). Boy did I go nuts... I had the busiest week of my life! My time has been taken up by sooo many things this week. Then tryingn to get a cake done ontop of it..was very very tricky. I know I could only dedicate one day to this cake for putting together. It was suppose to be the night before... but half way into it my airbrush gun gave out on me!!! I was in the middle of using it. I FREAKED! I had to stop where I was at (midnight) and figure something out. I had nothing. I took my airbrush to work praying that my buddy Glen could fix it. HE DID! So then I had a matter of 2 hrs to hurry home and pull this together! I could pick this cake apart but I won't.:) I am just happy it turned out, I have my airbrush gun again... And I think she liked the cake. I'll take it!!

That's my girl....
Jayden nursery teacher says..
"during sacrament we bow our heads and think of Jesus. This helps us be reverent. Do you guys think of Jesus?"
All the kids nod yes... Jayden shakes her head no.
Teacher: "You don't think of Jesus Jayden?" "Then what do you think about that helps you be reverent?"
Jayden: "shoes"

My heart just breaks.....

Okay... I am sure you don't remember, me and my sister made a bunch of flower clips for babies, I think last year, for a yard sale that was going on for the cutest little girl named Maggie. They didn't know what was going on with her. She was very very sick and was just losing weight like crazy and couldn't keep it on for anything. I just got word from a friend that she is actually to the point now that she is terminal. She was diagnosed with Mitochondrial disease. When you see pictures of this little girl you just want to cry. She is a little older than Talon. She currently weighs 16 pounds 14oz. Here is a little part of her blog...
"she finally came in and said that she had received the results of the biopsy and said she was going to talk to another cardiologist about what needs to happen next. So anyway then she continues to tell us that Maggies echo was worse than her last echo and that looking at this shows that this is why her other organs are all having trouble. Maggies septum in her heart is not working as well. She asked me how invasive we wanted to go with Maggie and I said that we don't want to be too invasive because of all of her problems the outcome would not be very good. But that we would need to discuss everything as things came along. She absolutely agreed with me and said that she would not do a transplant on Maggie and she would not do a pacemaker on Maggie because she does not think Maggie would make it through that process and because if she did make it she would have deteriorated a lot to have made it and her life would not be good. So then she tells us that what we want to hope happens is that when its time, Maggie gets an arrhythmia and that is how she goes because it will be painless. Not sure what to think about this. I think I may have been in a little shock at this point. She says that she is going to see Maggie one more time and then she will probably transfer her care over to the heart failure doctor. Maggie is not in heart failure yet but apparently that is where she is headed. She tells us that because of her heart this is part of what is causing Maggie to have trouble digesting. So basically there is nothing we can do about that. There are a few meds that we could try to help the heart but there is nothing we can do to fix the heart. However she doesn't think Maggie can take the meds for this because Maggie has such a low heart rate. These meds will make it slower and she will need to be watched super closely if this is what is decided to do. She says that we can not put Maggie back on TPN because not only of the liver problems but because she gets infections so easily. If her heart rate goes high like when she gets infections she said that this is when the arrhythmia will happen which will mean Maggie will not make it. So not only can we not have her heart rate low, now we have to watch so carefully that it doesn't go too high. So she said that there is really no way to get Maggie to keep her weight or gain really. Basically, she says that we are going to watch Maggie starve to death which will make her heart give out. Unless another doctor can come up with some other way to get her to digest or get her calories without a central line. So there is nothing we can do about it. It is so frustrating to know the plan of your childs death and not be able to do anything about it. I can't even explain the feeling I have or how to move on with daily things right now. My head is just spinning in circles trying to come up with something."
When I saw this little girl, a while back, she just smiled at everyone that came. She was just too darn cute. I don't even want to know what her mother goes through on a daily basis. It just breaks your heart to see a little girl so little and so cute and yet so sick. You just don't think it is possible to have a little one so sick. It just doesn't seem fair. I just found out that they are going to have a boutique/bake sale for her and her family to be able to go and have fun as a family while they still have time. Sounds like they wanted to go to Disneyland this December.... doctors told them they NEED to try and go sooner. Doesn't sound like they think she will be well at all then. I am trying so hard to fight back the tears. Now that I am a Mom and experience how much pain you go through just to see your child go through something as simple as the common cold.. I can't even imagine something like this. To put one of my own children in little Maggies shoes... makes me sick with the mere thought....I am sure every little bit helps to try and get through this time. So, I guess what I am getting to, is, if any of you have anything you would like to make or bake for this boutique/bake sale, let me know. It is on Sepmtember 18th. I would love to bring things over to them. I am racking my brain trying to figure out what I could possibly do. Please take a look at her family blog..michelleagnew.blogspot.com. If you want you can also email me ChalliseT@gmail.com. Unfortunately, things like this make you realize how lucky you are.

Yellowstone Trip
We had a quick trip to Yellowstone this last weekend. It was a lot of fun. I never had an interest in ever going to Yellowstone until I met Rusty. It has been a fun tradition to have. We actually stayed in The Old Faithful Inn. That building is soo darn old and very cool.
We tested out headsets this raod trip. Jayden loves them... Talon, well I think they kind of freaked him out a little. I tried to get him to look at the camera. As you can tell by the look on his face, he was too into the movie with surround sound.
Oh don't you worry. The first day Talon had more fevers. He just wanted to be held, laying down and not doing a single thing. He breaks my heart way too many times with these darn fevers!! To top it off, he threw up everywhere. I felt bad because it wasn't on my bed I was sleeping on. It was on my sister-in-laws lovely bad. Bad for them, good for me. Sorry Toni! Although, I think I got my share all over me! Love the smell of "Mom perfume".
Take a look at Jaydens lip in this next picture. This girl has a horrible habit of just cutting you off. Just walks right in front of you. She caught the front of my foot and down she went. I honestly didn't think she hit her mouth that hard.. but it was a good size lip. Cute right?

Picture overload!
Bare with me on this post... I might even have to post again later. I have 425 pictures on my camera, and yes I would love to post them all. I am gonna try to narrow it down. I don't know if anybody else's blog does this when they upload pics, but mine just looks like jibberish and I don't know what picture is what so it is close to impossible to put the comments on the right picture. I use to be able to see the picture after it uploaded... not anymore and it drives me nuts!! So if anyone knows how to change that PLEASE LET ME KNOW.
here are some pics of Jayden at her dance recital.. she LOVES being on stage. Thank goodness.
Where a kid can be a kid.... right? We went to Chuck E Cheese for my niece Kailey's birthday. Don't my kids look happy in there little snap shot? Good times.
They did have fun, I promise.
Rusty's family all went out together for a weekend of fun in Deer Valley. It was a ton of fun to have everyone that went there. I think it needs to turn into a tradition! Here are a few pics of that fun event
I realized when I uploaded these pics.. I don't have any of the family, hmmm I guess I need to do a better job and taking pictures of everyone. Sorry guys. Especially because two of my brand new nieces and one new nephew were up there. You will just have to take my word, they are stinkin cute!!!
Here are some random cute pics of the kids. I just can't get over how fast they are growing up. With Talon always being the "baby" I look at these pics and freak out because he looks so darn big! Uuuggh... slow down kiddos!
It is normal for your son to want to wear your heels right? Jayden always gets into my clothes and plays "mommy". My room is alwasy a disaster when I see her come up in my clothes. Fun.
Finally Disneyland.. We spontaneously decided to go for a road trip to California. Talon will need to be 15 before I take another road trip with this kid... he is that kid that just says "Mom, Mommy, Mom, Ma, Mommy, Mom" He yells this until you actually look at him and say what.. then calmly says whatever one word he has picked and smiles. As soon as you turn your head back... he starts it again. Boy was I happy when he fell asleep!!!
Disneyland was crazy hot! I think I lost 10 pounds in sweat alone (lovely thought right?). It obviously wasn't enough because I still gave all the girls at the beach the stink eye the next day. I have to tell myself all those skinny girls don't have kids... or else I would have to drown them. Keep me in clothes, I am okay.. put me in a swim suit, Not a happy camper at all!!!
Jayden loved meeting all the princesses and characters at Disneyland. It was a lot of fun to see her get excited with all the rides and people. I can only imagine what it will be like when she is a couple years older. Talon I think had a crush on Belle. He kept smiling at her and trying to move in on her pictures. Pretty funny. Jayden kept those sunglasses on the whole time, but kept looking over the top of them. She would not push them up. Not sure what that was all about.
We also watched a dance parade. Jayden was picked 4 times to go out and dance with them. I was suprised she went so willing. It was fun. Jayden was at one point so excited because she saw Alice in Wonderland. She kept waving at her, then a guy came up to dance with her. As soon as he took her hand she thought that was the green light to charge Alice. when he kept her there to dance, she just stood there and gave him the stink eye. Pretty funny.
She was on cloud nine when she got to see the princesses. Good times. It was fun to see her all confused as to what to do when she was with them.
Phew... I will end there and give you a break... I am sure there will be more soon.
