Our Favorite Park

August 23 2013

We headed to the park to let the boys run wild.
I jut love this shot of Luke holding on to brother tight.
Noah is always amazed at the "exercise equipment" (that has absolutely no resistance).
Well they decided to let Mimi test it out.
Little Luke trying his best to conquer this one.
That is better.
Noah working hard.

The swings were more their size.
Sweaty boys
borrowing a friends scooter.
Luke and Mimi having a long talk.

Girls Bazaar day

August 23 2013

We met up with my language tutor and headed the  Grand Bazaar.  It was a fun day and we started by visiting a little shop and having Apple Cay.  I have never had it before and it was my favorite by far.
I found some pillows for Baby girls room.
We looked and looked.

I love these lanterns.
The ceiling that is painted.
And did a little rug shopping.
This one was my favorite.
And then we were taken to the roof for the view.

Where's Captain Hook?

August 22 2013

We had dinner by the Bosphorus and then went for a little walk.
The see the boats.
This one in particular.  Everyday that we drive past this black ship called the 'Blackrose' Noah comments on how it is Captain Hook's boat and can we ride on it.
Well today we were so close Momma was happy to just get out picture in front of it.
But then Noah started waving to the man on board taking care of the boat,  who by deduction had to have been Mr. Smee.  And well he said come aboard.
So the boys did.  And Noah even got to go and practice steering the boat.  He was grinning ear to ear when he got off.
Mimi and her boys by the Bosphorus.

A cool house with the sun going down behind it.
And I just love this door.

A Turkish Birthday

We were invited to our neighbors birthday.  He was turning 3.  Yes 3.  They go all out for parties here. I was wondering why everyone asked me at Luke's party a couple of months ago, why he didn't have any friends there (just family and 5 neighbors), well here is why.  They invite everyone.  And they expect you to come.  And EAT.
The boys played tug of war.  And were running around like mad men.
Luke go a little into the testosterone.  And well he was beating up the kid that is behind Noah in the picture above before the night was over.  I know your thinking oh how cute he's "getting that kid" / No really our Luke doesn't take anything from anyone. And even when it's not given, he gives a punching to any unlucky poor soul.  Mimi finally had to take this little rebel in for the night and bathe and put him to bed.
I just thought this was humorous.  Getting the embers going with a hairdryer.  It's like something you would see in Kenya.
Luke did find a friend that acted as a baby sitter for me.  I had one man tell me 'in english' that he would not want to have me as a mother.  That I need to lighten up a bit, I watched my kids too, closely.  I have never taken myself for one of those 'hovering parents' but Turkish parents must be more laid back.
Just our family pic of the night.
Luke all sweaty and worn out with the birthday boys' mom.
The raging party.
Cake time.

Noah's face painted and ready for a bath pic. It was almost 10:00 before I got this one in the bed.

Istanbul Aquarium

August 17 2013

We headed out to the Istanbul Aquarium.  It was so fun.  And the boys were busy looking at everything.
Daddy and Noah by Noah's ark.
Showing Momma the fish.

The big sting ray.

Coming to the surface to say hello.

Up on the platform.
Sitting and having a visit with Poseidon.

Really cool sea life.

Looking at all the fish with Mimi.
from underneath with Daddy.
Snuggled close

Watching the planes flying in.

 The Arctic Ice.

 In the submarine.

 Taking naps in the hammocks.

 The BIG guys.

 Amazon fish.

And we are done.  Trying to get the boys to look at the camera, they were a little too obedient with my instructions.
There we go, that is better.
