Christmas!

The kids woke up bright and early so excited to open presents! The highlights from Christmas morning:
Jackson got the game of life and we played it so many times Christmas morning. So fun!
Avery got a calico critter house and a bunch of calico critters and she was so excited!
Miles got a laser gun set and a mushroom to practice his gymnastics on.
Owen got a batman go-cart and he is obsessed with it!
Sadie was so cute when she opened her presents. She was just so pleased with everything. She's just the best. We stayed in our pajamas and ate chocolate and raspberry sweet rolls all day and just had the best laziest day! We all took a dip in our new hot tub and watched the snowfall. It was a magical day.

Christmas Eve

We started off our Christmas Eve with Brunch at the Grande America. I have been wanting to take the kids to brunch for years and we finally made it happen. The food was ok but the pictures with Santa and Mrs. Clause were great! The kids got giant candy canes and loved exploring the Grande America after brunch.
Later that afternoon we headed over to my parents for our annual Christmas eve party. The kids read and acted out the story of Christ's birth and there was the sweetest spirit. We watched a little video after and sweet Miles was in tears. He really feels the spirit strong. A gift he has had since birth. It was super sweet. Then all the grandkids got into a circle and played the candy bar game. One of my favorite little games we grew up playing during Christmas time. And then, the moment we had all been waiting for! Presents! My parents got all the grandkids and the adults presents. They were so generous and everyone loved everything.  We had my favorite meal of the year, fondu! Cheese fondue and chocolate fondu and everything you can imagine to dip. The best night of year!
After we left my parent's house the kids opened ornaments we had brought them from the Pioneer Woman Mercantile. We got cookies and milk ready for Santa and of course carrots for the reindeer and we ended the night talking about Jesus Christ and his birth. The kids were so excited to go to bed...probably the only night out of the whole year they were actually excited to go to bed haha.
