Rose colored glasses.......
Well, this was a big weekend for us! Chris has had the same pair of glasses for 4-7 years and it was time for an upgrade (due to a new rx). We had been wanting to go and look for some, but never did. Last week we finally went into America's Best and within 30 minutes we had purchased these babies (you have to understand that chris is a brown and therefore does not make purchases on a whim, only after comparing and studying, so I was shocked when he said, "Should we just get them?"). Chris is practically blind, so a thicker frame was the way to go, the lenses still stick out beyound the frame if you can believe it! I think they look great on him, I have to keep reassuring him that they suit him well. What do you think, does he look like a future neurologist in these?
I also got a new rx for my glasses (our future children will be blind with these genes), but kept the same frame. If you are wondering why every picture of me on this blog includes my glasses, it is because for the past 8 months I have had issues with an allergy to who knows what (contacts, saline, my fingers). I have been to the eye doctor at least 4 times and I still end up with gross, hideous pink eyes. I have definatly taken contacts for granted all these years. Oh, how I miss them so! If you have an suggestions, I'll take them.

Murder Mystery!!
Last night was really fun. Some friends from the ward invited us (and the other 4 childless couples in the ward) over for a Murder Mystery dinner. It took place at a vineyard in California, and was Italian/wine themed. The evening was complete with a beer-drinking, hygienically-challenged FBI agent (Chris, aka Bud Wizer), a gold-digging, prim and proper woman on her 3rd husband (Linzi, aka Tiny Bubbles) and lots of good costumes, accents, food and laughs. We are happy to report that neither of us was the murderer.
We had a little trouble finding their apartment, though. There was another apartment building with the same number right across the road from them, so we unknowningly went in the wrong building looking for their apartment. We knocked on some lady's door, and she screamed out that she couldn't hear us, then promptly told us that there were no couples there...we had the wrong building. It brought back (good?) memories of my misssion (getting yelled at from closed doors in apartment buildings by people that didn't want to talk to us).
Brown's Win Weekend Cake Decorating Contest!!!
Kirkwood, MO--That's correct. On Friday evening Chris and Linzi challenged friends and aspiring cake decorators Dave and Kathryn Dodds to a 1st ever Stonecrest cake decorating contest. The Dodds came into the event with admirable confidence, believing that their combinations of spreadable and crunchy sugar topping their lemon cake would be enough to sway the judges. Alas, they made a fatal flaw by incorporating the depressing "Y" into the Spring-themed event. The judges were greatly turned off by that. The Browns, on the other hand, produced one of the most adorable bunny cakes that Missouri has every seen. "I almost got carried away," said Chris, minutes after the victory. "I wanted to give the bunny Easter themed tattoos, just to spice up the originality a bit, but Linzi wisely led us down a different course...a simple bunny head, as cute as can be. She was a genius." Naturally, Linzi deflected the praise and the reporters...it is believed that she celebrated the victory in the only way she knew how: by promptly cleaning up the kitchen and indulging in a bowl of ice cream. The future looks bright for Chris and Linzi: this prestigious victory follows last years triumph at Joselyn Humphries' birthday party when the Barbie cake they assisted with was a hit with children and adults alike. We can't wait to see their next creation.

I was in 7-8th grade. My friends were ash, kath, christy (also my locker partner- very important!), Kristin olsen (although she went to the competing Jr high!!!), and ashley parkin. I never talked to boys because I was afraid of them. I babysat most weekends (I still wonder what I did with all that money), basically, my life was as lame as it is now!
5 things on my list to do today....
1. Find an outfit for a murder mystery dinner tonight (My character is tiny bubbles)
2. Plan my nursery lesson (I love trees, plants, and flowers...shouldn't be too difficult)
3. Apply for scholarships (who will give me their money???)
4. Eat
5. Bug Chris while he is studying!
Snacks I enjoy..
The list of what I don't enjoy is smaller. Seriously, I am admiting an addiction to candy. I can spend hours just pacing the candy isles at stores. I love ice cream the most though, I can never turn it down!
What would I do if I were suddenly a billionaire?
1. Pay off med school
2. Buy new couches
3. Buy a house
4. Travel
3 of my bad habits... pushing my cuticles until they hurt, interrupting, cleaning up after people
places I have lived...1. Farmington, Logan, Bountiful, St Louis
jobs I have had...1. Babysitting, House cleaner, Bakery girl, Blimpie sandwhich maker, Secretary, medical assistant
5 things people don't know about me...I have a blankie (like kellie, I have no shame!), I cry really easily, I could eat ice cream 3 times a day and be happy, I actually like cleaning/organizing, I want to go to Africa

*Thunder Snow*
Add something new to the list of crazy weather events in Missouri: Thunder Snow!! We had never heard of it before today, but this morning when the snow was falling there were loud claps and rumbles of thunder, as if it were a huge rainstorm. It was one of the weirdest weather-related phenomena we've seen since we've been in St. Louis. Apparantly it's kind of normal here...who knew? When you hear it you can count on at least a few inches of snow. So we went from 80ยบ on Sunday to about a foot of thunder snow today. Weird!!!

All is quiet on the western front..
but not on the midwest front! So last night at about 12:13 (well, okay, it was exactally 12:13, I checked my alarm clock just for blogging purposes) I was awakened by siren lights, yes, no sound, just the lights is enough to waken a restless sleeper like myself. I jumped up to look out the window and there was a firetruck and ambulance in our parking lot. It was parked right in front of a couple that is in our ward and she is pregnant and so I got all worried that it was there for her, but then I saw them going into a different door. I told Chris to come look. He did, but then it wasn't exciting enough for him so he got back into bed. I then said, "they have someone on a stretcher." Chris then replied as he jumped out of bed, "Are they dead!"
Yes chris, in the middle of the night from our two story window I can tell if the persons heart is beating or not. My favorite part was how excited he got that they might be dead. I guess he had a bit to much fun in the cadaver lab last semester.
