It's official. I'm a soccer mom.

How cool is this uniform? Carter's first soccer game was last night. He did awesome. His team is called the Red Dragons.
Best dad ever!

Nice lookin' legs, Cart.

Bend it like Carter!

The best part of the game. Treats!
**Now I just need a minivan, a visor, and a camp chair with an umbrella.**

Some More S'mores

We went on a super-fun camp out with Jeremy's family in Nephi. We ate really yummy tin foil dinners, cantaloupe (me), chips (the boys), and S'mores! We stayed up and sang campfire songs with Bradee and Kaycee, and slept like logs (jeremy and carter--will and his mother shared a mummy bag for half the night because he didn't want to sleep with his father--yay.)
Will using the post as a camera. Cheese!

cheese or marshmallows?

Good times had by all. I hope we do it again next year:)

-How can I have some more? I haven't had any yet.
-You're killin' me Smalls!

Home Improvement--Not the Sitcom

Watching the Dall family (Jeremy and Becca--not his brothers or his dad) doing home improvement is a lot like watching America's Funniest Home Videos. We don't know how to do anything. We just used a drill for the first time last week. It wasn't disastrous--but only because we weren't making a picnic table for the Queen of England. However, if she wants one, we know how to assemble picnic table benches.

Our deck was in desperate need of refinishing as you can tell from the below picture. I thought it was a project that a) I would have to do alone due to Jeremy's very busy work schedule, and b) I COULD do alone. I was wrong on both accounts. Do you know how much work it is to refinish a deck? I did not. Look how many railing slats we have. Almost a million. I thought it would take two days, tops to finish. It took four ENTIRE days, plus a little more.

In the middle of that project, I started another one. Building a picnic table. Jeremy's dad helped us get the wood and Burdette, my awesome brother, came down from USU and helped us assemble the table...and paint. I was supposed to have that done, but due to the above mentioned project had not come anywhere near painting all the boards. Burdette stayed way into the dark hours and assembled everything but the benches, leaving that job for the ever capable accountant and his wife who likes to stand around. (Hey Melanie, Krista, Shawnee, and Kayla remember that YSA activity that advertised "Standing Around" as one of the highlights of the activity?)

Anyway, we are really awesome at using drills so it only took us a little longer to assemble the benches than it took Burdette to assemble the entire table. Hey Burdette, can you make a balance sheet? Just kidding, Burdette is like MacGyver and Martha Stewart put together, he can do anything.

Finished projects.
Anyone wanna come over for a picnic or to admire our deck?

This is the Dalls...leave a message.

Cute Little Will is talking so much and saying such funny things. Our ward just split and Will's nursery leader has a new calling and isn't in nursery anymore. We've been practicing her name for a long time, Sister Felix. Will used to call her Fister Selix, but he figured out how to say it right. It's kind of sad, I liked it the old way better. Anyway, it's still really cute and I thought it would be fun to share:)

*************

We got a new phone/answering machine and the boys LOVE to climb up on the bar and record a new greeting. They do it over and over until I practically have a nervous breakdown and make them stop.

*******************

P.S. Carter is really good at talking too, he's just way to crazy and silly to sit still long enough to sing/say something super duper cute. However, he does have an impressive rendition of "How Firm a Foundation" I mean, "How Therm a Saldation." Maybe I'll try to get that on video for another post:)

Aunt Katrina and Little Jon...

...got married!!!!
Caleb, Will, Jacob, and Carter "patiently" waiting for Katrina and Little Jon to finish kissing so they could come out of the temple.
Congratulations!!!

Summertime -- Part 1

We've done lots of fun things this summer, but due to the events in the above post (sort of) I haven't had enough time to post any of our adventures.
****
Carter and Will barrel racing at Heritage Park.

Carter practicing his roping for the Days of '47 Rodeo.

Carter and Grandpa Dave fishing at the trout farm.

Dad and Will catching a fish.

Will clutching his hands in terror after catching a fish.
***
He screamed every time he caught a fish. He didn't mind looking at the fish in the bucket after they were caught--but only if someone was holding him. When the fish would flop around the bucket, he would scream again, then go back for another look. "Fish are popping, Dad!"

Cart and Dad with his last fish. We took that one home to Great-Grandma Barker for her birthday.

***
Too bad we didn't get a picture of when Bradee fell in the pond!

Summertime -- Part 2

Will totally loves corn on the cob and thinks the green beans from the garden are corn, too.

Carter playing soccer in his summer rec class.

Carter ran the Kids K race as part of Bountiful's Handcart Days celebration!

Jeremy ran with Carter and Carter "beated Dad!"

Grandpa John came and camped out with the boys in the backyard on Pioneer Day. After everyone fell asleep (at almost midnight) it started raining and flooded the tent. The boys still had a lot of fun:)

Summertime -- Part 3

Carter doing the "Step in Time" chimney sweep dance from Mary Poppins on the barn roof.

Carter feeding a new baby calf at the barn.

Will very much not feeding the calves.

Will enjoying Uncle Andrew's "tracker."

Carter playing t-ball in his summer rec class.

NEXT ADVENTURE:
GIRLS CAMP for Mom and FOUR DAYS WITH DAD for the boys.
