The Best Birthday Ever!

Let me just say that I hope all your birthdays can be as wonderful as the one I just had. My mom and dad flew me out to visit them in Seattle....need I say more? They took me to the Calcutta Grill for a fabulous dinner with a stunning view of the mountains, and a wicked good Creme Brulee! They even arranged for it to be sunny (yes, I said sunny!) and warm the whole time I was there!!! To round out the celebration, we had Sunday dinner with Gary's parents, Doug and Sue, and his awesome brother, Brian. Good Times!! A special thanks to Gary for holding down the fort (no small task!) while I was gone!!!! I bet he's ready to go back to work!!!

Savannah's Ballet/Tap Recital

Yeah!!! Savannah's first tap recital! What a wonderful treat for Mother's Day! She did such a great job, and daddy got her a bouquet of flowers! She was so surprised and excited. Some of you may recognize where it took place...Cary Grove High School Auditorium! Crazy huh? The place was packed! She loved her costume...pink of course!

"Snappy"

Pretty much every spring we find that a snapping turtle has made a nest up from the lake in the backyard. Tyler was playing out back when he made this find. Nathan is usually the first to spot one, but this year Tyler has bragging rights! They appropriately named him/her "Snappy" and put it gently back. Spring is so much fun!

Savannah's turns 6!

So...this is the week that Savannah turned 6 on May 6th! Her golden birthday! She was very excited to share it with her kindergarten class. She picked out very cute butterfly cupcakes for the occasion. I helped her carry all of them down to her class. As we were walking through the halls she kept saying "out of the way...birthday girl coming through!" She also HAD to have curly hair for the day. No easy task! (Even when we do the foam rollers it goes straight within the hour!) We can't believe how fast she is growing up!

FINALLY!!!

Savannah has been waiting all winter long to start t-ball. Her very first practice/game was rained out and she had to wait until this weekend. Then she had to endure a morning of her brother's soccer game. But FINALLY the moment arrived. She found out she was on the White Sox team, got her first uniform (with a cool hat), and brought her own "pink" bat and glove! (with Savannah would there be any other color?) She had soooo much fun! I think we were all excited for the wait to be over...until next Saturday!

The "Borrow a Dog Plan"

My kids, especially Nathan, have always wanted a dog. We would love to have one but Tyler is very allergic to them. So my cousin Tristan just got the cutest little chocolate lab puppy named Bella. My uncle brought her over today for a visit outside! Problem solved! When we need our dog fix...we can borrow Bella for an outside visit! The kids were in heaven. They played with her forever and didn't want her to leave. She melted my heart that's for sure!
