Abigail Ginny

There are a lot of pictures below. I'm gonna tell the labor/delivery story, so if you don't want to hear it, you can just look at the pictures :)
On Wednesday night I started to feel sick to my stomach and threw up at about midnight.
Of course the next day was Thanksgiving... but I was feeling okay so I ate tons for lunch, and then went and threw that up too.
I was having contractions, but they were really mild so I didn't know if they meant anything or not. So I laid around and didn't feel good most of the day.
Friday I was annoyed because I was still having minor contractions and didn't feel good but I didn't feel like anything was happening. So we went shopping all morning and I went and walked the mall a couple of times. That night about 5 or 6pm I had started to have consistent contractions that were a little bit stronger. I continued to have them ALL night, most of the night they were about 6 minutes apart. But then Saturday morning they slowed down again.
I was SO mad. And then they sped up again… and then they slowed down again… (over and over again) but they did get more painful as the day went on. I also went walking a bunch trying to make them more consistent. FINALLY starting about 5pm they were consistently at 6 minutes apart again and then 5 minutes… and then 4 minutes… So we ran to WalMart really quick to buy Emma some diapers for my parents and then we went to the hospital. They put me in a room and checked me. I was dilated to a 4 and 90% effaced! YAY! So they admitted me and told me I could have an epidural whenever I wanted one. But I was feeling pretty good so I decided to wait a little bit.
It didn’t take long before the contractions started hurting SUPER bad. So I called the nurse in and she checked me and I was a 5. Then they came and did the epidural. The guy who did it was awesome, and did a great job. It took longer for the epidural to kick in this time compared to when I had Emma but life was fabulous when it did! I was able to relax and kick back. Of course it didn't take long before my water broke all on it's own (they had to break mine with Emma)! That felt funny :) Anyway, about an hour-ish after that the nurse (she was awesome by the way) checked me again and I was dilated to a 10 and 100% effaced. But baby was still not dropped as far as they wanted so we decided to wait. So we waited about another hour, they called the doctor. Doctor Baker was on call, and he did awesome! I only had to push for like 2 minutes and he took care that I only had one teeny tiny tear that he had to stitch up. And Abigail Ginny was with us! The doctor and nurse both thought it was funny that she started screaming before she was even all the way out :)
Weighing in at 6lbs 15oz and 19.5 inches long.
She's adorable and we love her very much!
I have felt great, WAY better than I did when recovering after having Emma. I'm able to move around and take care of myself and Abby pretty well.

Labor?

Just a quick update for those of you not on facebook...
On Wednesday night I started to feel sick, threw up half way through the night.
Threw up again Thursday right after eating Thanksgiving dinner.
Also was cramping the entire day.
So I was pretty sure labor was imminent/happening...
Friday my contractions slowly built up until about 6pm that night they were about 7 min apart.
They continued all night and then slowed down Saturday morning. And all day Saturday they would speed up and slow down.
Now I'm currently having contractions that are 5-6 min apart for the last couple of hours.
PLEASE PLEASE wish me luck and pray that this ends someday??!?!?!!?!

Princess Emma

Doesn't she just look like the prettiest little princess?

Baby Update

I went to the doctors yesterday for my regular check-up.
I will be 36 weeks on Saturday so they said to take it easy until then,
and after that they wouldn't worry about stopping the contractions anymore.
So... we'll see what happens after Saturday!

An Explanation of the Last Few Days

This is post #200!!
I planned on making it something super exciting...
but, current events decided to change that.
Someone told me today that Abby better be a lot better baby outside of me than she has been inside of me, it made me laugh.
So here's my story.
On Sunday night I was super tired and went to bed early, but thought nothing of it,
I got up Monday and decided to go walking with my friends at the mall.
In the winter time that is where we walk to get our exercise, in the morning before all the stores open. It's a lot of fun and I didn't get to walk with them outside all summer because of all the problems with the pregnancy and by the time those were over I didn't think it would be possible for me to push Emma up the hill to get home after the walk! So it's been a long time is what I'm getting at.
Anyway, we went walking and had a good chat. After that I got some good deals on Halloween stuff for next year and some fun dress up stuff for Emma. And then we went grocery shopping.
We finally got home and Emma and I took a LONG nap because we were both worn out and then we got up and went to Emma's music class (we signed her up for a Kindermusic class, which she LOVES).
Anyway, then we picked Logan up from school on our way home and hung out and relaxed together. It was a pretty good evening until I started to feel sick to my stomach. And then my back started to hurt really bad. I took some zofran, which helped NOT AT ALL and sat on the couch and tried to relax. Eventually I had a melt down and cried and Logan was the best husband ever and calmed me down. Anyway, a little after that I sprinted to the bathroom and threw up. I felt TONS better and even my backache felt a lot better after that. So I ate a little and drank some and then went to bed. In the middle of the night Emma woke up hungry (she was awake for two hours before I realized why she wouldn't go back to sleep) so I gave her a leftover scone from dinner and sent her back to bed where she went right to sleep (gotta love not being able to fully understand her yet :)
Anyway, in the morning I didn't feel great, but I figured I would probably be fine... but no, about an hour after I got up I threw up again. And then proceeded to be sick throughout the day. Emma refused to nap, but fortunately my neighbor Ashlee (one of the awesomest people in the world) watched Emma while I took a short nap. Then Logan came home and took care of us. Husbands that have the patience and energy to come home from school and take care of their sick wife and play with their child non-stop til bedtime deserve a lot of kudos. Anyway, then he took Emma to basketball (he plays Tuesday nights with a bunch of guys from the ward) so I could relax and rest. I thought then that I was doing a lot better but I got sick again and then got worried cuz I hadn't been able to keep anything down all day, mostly worrying me was the liquids. So Logan found a babysitter for Emma and he took me to the hospital about 9:30pm.
We went into the ER and they sent us right up to labor and delivery. They got me in really quick (thank goodness because there was a wait in the ER...). Anyway, they hooked me up to monitors and such and we discovered that my braxton-hicks contractions were REALLY regular, about every 3-5 minutes apart. The nurse got really concerned and they ended up giving me numerous shots to stop the contractions. I loved the nurse I had, she was super down to earth and blunt. Made me rethink everything I had done that day (I wasn't very smart-Logan had insisted earlier that day that I call my doctor and I refused-he wasn't very happy with me). Abby was super active during the whole experience, and she still is, I think she's just been trying to keep me reassured that she's fine in spite of everything.
Anyway, they finally got the contractions to stop, I had two liters of saline put into me, and they checked me to see if I had dilated at all-I was a one, not effaced at all. So they gave me a prescription for meds to stop the contractions when/if they came again and sent me home (on bedrest-at least for a little while).
Anyway, we picked up Emma (a big shout out to our home teachers-the Gees-even though they will probably never read this- for putting her sleep and taking care of her) and got home around 2am. We collapsed into bed.
I didn't sleep well, Emma didn't sleep well, and therefore... Logan sort of didn't sleep well. Emma woke up crying at like 4am and I sent Logan in to calm her down. I woke up two hours later and he was asleep on the floor next to her bed. I woke him up and told him he could probably go back to our bed now and he did. In the morning... he didn't remember doing any of it :)
Anyway, this morning I woke up with a huge headache, the kind you get when you are dehydrated, that seriously mimics a migraine when bad enough. I took some tylenol, gotta love the choices when you're pregant... anyway, it didn't do ANYTHING. So I was super miserable for a few hours, but good neighbors, friends, and a great husband, helped me out. My head hurt and my back hurt so bad I wanted to curl up in a ball and die. I was also having contractions again (about 6 an hour) before I took the meds, which stopped them. I was finally able to take some more tylenol and Logan rubbed my back where it had been hurting... and somehow, magically, I was able to fall asleep. It wasn't a long nap, but it seemed to work wonders. I felt a lot better when I got up.
My mom came to pick me up and I came to IF to stay with my parents, so they could take care of me, and take care of Emma. Logan did a great job, but he has school, and I couldn't take him away from that for long before we saw not-so-good consequences. Anyways, I've been feeling a lot better and have been finally able to eat some food. I appreciate all of the love and support I've felt as I've struggled through the last couple of days. It's nice to know that I have friends and family that will always be there for me.

Family Pictures 2010

I wasn't planning on getting pictures done until Abby got here... but now I guess we'll do both.
I needed a picture for my Christmas cards,
my neighbor Kelly (the same one that did them last year)
took them for us.
I thought they turned out great,
I think we were all outside for a total of about 15 minutes,
it was cold!!
Anyway, these two were my favorites, which one do you like?
Trying to decide how to orient my Christmas card...
