Pre-Birthday

Happy birthday to me! So it's not quite my birthday yet but Logan (and his parents) were so excited that he gave me my present early.....
An iPad! I'm really excited and have been learning how to use it! I just got this new blogging app and am super excited about it! He also got me a connector so I can upload pictures from my camera to the iPad and a really nice case for it. I'm feeling super spoiled. It is also a replacement for my computer... The hard drive died in it and this can do everything I used to do on it!
I took the picture with my camera and loaded it. It's really easy!

Abby's Niche

*Abby loves to sit in this spot... when we are home... which hasn't been much...*

*She's a happy girl but also super serious... it takes a lot of work to make her laugh!*

*Emma and Daddy watching the family video*

*She's such a cutie :) She still takes 3 naps a day and I can't decide if I like it or hate it. Cuz that means 3 times a day I have to be where she can take a nap... it really makes going places/running errands really hard. Emma was down to 1 nap a day at this age. It's fun to see the differences between them. I love all the ways the are different and all the ways they are similar.*

Bear Lake

Once a year we go to Bear Lake and I love it! We go with my Dad's brother, Tom, and his family.
We stay at a nice cabin and rent jet skis! This year we also rented a boat for a few hours and went tubing. My first time! I hung on pretty well til we hit some super choppy water and then I flew off! Hurt my back a little bit, but it was still fun. We bought Emma a life vest so she went out on both a little bit. Super slow and close to the beach on the jet ski. She loved riding around in the boat. But when I went to climb onto the tube she said,"no! sit down!" I guess she was worried about me! :)

*On the jet ski with Uncle Grandpa (Tom)*

*She was afraid of the sand so these kinds of pictures were few and far between. And usually when she realized where she was she would cry  til somebody picked her up!*

*Abby just chilled on the blankets and slept most of the beach time. She wasn't a huge fan of the water.*

*Grandma chillin at the beach*

*Daddy waiting for his turn on a jet ski*

*Uncle Nate and his girlfriend IsaBelle*

*Emma really LOVED the swimming aspect of the trip. She enjoyed being out in the water. And especially floating around on this tube with Daddy*

*Abby sleeping! I was cold after jet skiing*

*Getting ready to go through Minnetonka Cave!*

*Emma had a hard time in the cave cuz the guide kept stopping to tell us stuff and she just wanted to run through it as fast as she could. There were a lot of stairs that we had to carry her on... and I was exhuasted by the end of it!*

*She realized where she was and had thrown her purple bucket away from her and was stuck."

It was pretty crazy busy at the beach. That empty sand in front of Emma in the picture was right in front of our stuff. Some lady tried to set up a tent on it and my Aunt Jana told her she was in our spot (cuz she was at first) and the lady proceeded to tell her that she needed to be there cuz she had kids that needed to be by the water and so we should move. I was like "uhhh can't you see my kid??" and we'd had people there saving our spot for two hours... pretty sure we'd earned it :) Anyway, when her husband finally showed up he came over and started to get mad at Logan for yelling at his wife, Logan was like "what?? I haven't said a word to your wife." People can get pretty worked up about nothing. It was pretty funny. The guy finally walked away when my cousin's husband, Sean (he's a big tough guy), told him it was him and not Logan and the guy just took off... cracked us up.

Anyway, so we packed up and left in a hurry. We left my keys at the cabin and Tom found them. I have a thing of pepper spray on them and it looks like a little flashlight. Sean was trying to figure out what it was and sprayed himself... when they told me it sure cracked me up :)

Paradise

This is my grandparent's gravestone. They are buried in Paradise, Utah. I think it is a gorgeous place. On our way to Bear Lake we were able to stop by and visit. I wish I could afford flowers. Eventually I guess.

Future Job

I am extremely excited to announce that Logan has a verbal promise for a job in Twin Falls when he graduates (the manager said he's never gone back on a verbal promise, so it's set, unless they go out of business--and that's not likely).
For the next two years he will work 20 hours a week for them while they train him and such and then when he graduates he'll have a job! And it's in Idaho! I'm really excited to be settled down... even if it's in 2 years.

Emma's Bike

We got a free bike from a neighbor and Emma loves it!
Logan has been teaching her how to ride.

*She also loves the helmet she picked out--Lightning McQueen!*

*Grandpa had to put new tubes in the tires*

Random

*Caught another Abby smile on camera*

*She looks so grown up! I can't believe how big she is getting*

*Logan experimented and we were surprised!*

*Saw these around town the day Harry Potter #7 part 2 came out. Whoever did this is my HERO.*

Hanging Out With Friends

Since Logan has been working in Idaho Falls, we've been able to visit with a lot of my old high school friends.

*Emma and Jenna (Alisa Wellard LaPorte's little girl) playing in the water*

*Abby even got to play! I thought her mini pool was a good idea. It was just a piece of plastic that we stuck in a little divit in the lawn and put a little bit of warm water in it. She LOVED it*

*Lisa Pfost Argyle and Kris-10 Byron Murdock and their kids, Lydia and Colin. It was fun to see them. And wierd that we are hanging out with our kids now... times have changed :) *

I also got to hang out with Corinne and Alyssa! We watched Harry Potter #6 and laughed our heads off. We have such fun together. I miss our old times together. Corinne and I started the dressing up for Harry Potter! :) When the 4th book came out we stood in line in the early morning wearing graduation robes and such for our costumes and got our picture taken a put in the newspaper! Yeah, we're famous :)

Train Table

I bought this at a garage sale for $35. Emma loves it!
Of course... we have to fix it up a little bit and then I'll probably give it to her and Abby for Christmas.
But she had fun playing with it for a few days.

Emma Tidbits

Just some funny Emma stories:

At church on Sunday she escaped from nursery without anyone realizing it and was wandering around in the chapel during another ward's sacrament meeting... whoops! Luckily someone who knew who she was, was in that ward and came and found me. I think we'll have to have a word with the nursery leaders...

Today at the library some little girl had a binky just like Emma's. Emma marched right up to her and ripped it out of her mouth and stuck it in hers before I could even blink! Later we saw the little girl again and Emma took off after her and that little girl RAN for it. Oh Emma :)

Emma's favorite food is chicken nuggets. She eats them almost every day for lunch. And dip. Ranch dressing dip. She has to have some on her plate or food is no good at all. And it goes with everything! Ranch and mac & cheese, ranch and skittles, ranch and life cereal, you name it, it goes with ranch. We were at the store today and passed the ranch and she started yelling "Mom! Ranch dip! Look! Ranch dip!" at the tons of bottles of Hidden Valley Ranch (is there any other kind of ranch? ;) She also hates messes while she eats. If she spills the tiniest bit on the floor or on herself she cries until it's cleaned up. It might crack me up if I wasn't so annoyed that I get interrupted while eating my lunch 15 times.

She loves swimming! She begs to go swimming every day! She will grab her swimsuit and run to the door and say "I go swimming?" I guess at nursery the other day she heard something about it and ran to the door, "I go swimming!"

She loves Abby. Loves to give her kisses and help her eat her Abby Snacks. She loves bathtime with Abby and begs me to put Abby in the bath with her.

She is an excellent singer already. She knows the words to quite a few songs. And she helps me make up songs all of the time. She carries a tune very well, which I could never do... she must get it from her dad.

She doesn't like to be told what to do. She loves being given choices and picking which one she wants. She gets this little grin on her face and looks at her choices for a while and then points to what she wants "This one?!" with a slight question in the tone of her voice.

Her favorite movie is Cars right now, but The Little Mermaid is fast joining it. She also loves trains (Thomas & Friends) and fish. We went to the store and were looking at underwear (potty training to come soon) and she wanted to pick out the little boy Toy Story, Cars, or Thomas ones... we finally convinced her that Tangled ones would be good.

My First Garden

I have helped with my parent's garden at home plenty of times. But this was my first time planting my own. We share a garden space with our friends upstairs so half of the garden is theirs. I think it looks great! Though we've been gone so much this summer that we really haven't been able to enjoy it like we want to.

Independence Day!

We had a great 4th of July! Emma LOVED to pop the pop-its. We just stayed home and did our own fireworks, which was fun. I didn't think Abby would like the big loud ones.

*I made the girl's matching dresses for the 4th. Just simple pillowcase dresses. But they and the bows I made turned out super cute!*

*We started lighting off fireworks and after the first couple I asked if she liked them and if she wanted more and she said, "all done." It cracked me up. She did warm up to them and the next night when we went to a friends to watch some more she liked them quite a bit until she got super tired :) *
