The Best Week Ever (Heavy Sarcasm)

Last Saturday: I realized my freezer was not working and my food was all thawing out. I talked to my upstairs neighbor, Sharla, and her husband came down and checked it out but by then it had finally started up again (who knows why??) Anyway, they gave me a little thermometer to put in and check the temps in the fridge and freezer... (more on that later).

Last Sunday night: Emma woke up crying and was pretty upset for a little bit but went back to sleep with Logan on the couch. Abby had sort of a rough start to her night also (she got both her top and bottom molars in this week)-- she was fine after some ibuprofen.

Monday: it rained a ton and my kitchen floor (its carpet) flooded in one corner. It really freaked me out for a while, but it stopped spreading and dried out after a couple of days. Emma had a really rough night and kept telling me that her ear hurt.

Tuesday: Took the kids to the doctor and found out Emma has an ear infection and that Abby has another double ear infection (that's 5 ear infections in 5 months). This week we go in to make sure after antibiotics that Abby's ear infection is really gone or if it's been a reoccurring one. That evening when we got home we went to dinner with some friends and Emma fell asleep on a blanket on the floor. I had a couple of people comment to me that they wish their kids would do that! Made me laugh cuz that's the only time it has happened... And probably the only time it will happen.

Wednesday and Thursday were pretty good days, just had grumpy, recovering kids.

Friday: Logan started feeling pretty sick.

Saturday: was pretty good until that night. First my parents stopped by for dinner (they had been in Texas visiting my sister). We ate some pizza and played. The kids were super excited! Anyway, they left and I threw the kids in the tub...and then Emma threw up in the tub. Gross and not fun cleanup, I won't go into any more detail. Anyway, she curled up on the couch and went to sleep right away... Even before I could get her dressed, boy was she mad when I made her put some pjs on. Anyway, she threw up a couple more times (I think totaling five that night). I had put Abby to bed and she had gone done quickly and quietly, which was a huge relief. But after Emma fell asleep after she was done throwing up, I heard coughing from Abby. I ran in and she had thrown up all over her bed and then laid back down to sleep... Gross! Haha. Anyway, I picked her up and then she threw up all over me! Whoops! So I cleaned her up and cuddled her for a little bit and then cleaned up her room. Then Logan came home and she threw up on him. Emma was still asleep on the. Ouch. So I set up a bed (a bed made of towels...) next to it and laid down with Abby. Abby threw up twice more... And then ate a ton and drank a ton and went to sleep. I really have no idea what time it was by then... But it was late.

Today: the kids slept in and we stayed home from church. The kids were super tired and we just relaxed all day. We came to the conclusion that most of the food in our freezer and fridge was bad. The thermometer all week had been dropping into the spoilage section in the fridge... Anyway, we think that's what made the kids sick, so we threw out tons and tons of food. I'm headed to stay with my parents for a couple of days in hopes that we will either have a fixed or brand new fridge when we get back. Not having a place to keep food is hard!!

Anyway... By the end of today I just wanted to throw up my hands and say "SERIOUSLY?" but now as I've typed it all up it doesn't seem as bad as I thought... Oh well. Here's to hoping next week is better!

Bedtime...I think.

We've just started putting the girls to bed at the same time... It's been a little rough. But tonight at last they just went straight to sleep!

A couple nights before... I walked in on this:

(Emma was in the crib but booked it out as soon as I walked in)

This is how their room is supposed to look!

Bad Guy!

So I was at the mall the other day waiting for my friends to show up to walk. Some old guy walks by us and Emma points and yells, "mom, that's a bad guy!" yeah... Kinda awkward... Haha! Anyway, Emma sure is at that age when she tries my patience and also cracks me up constantly!

Pushing Abby around in this box... They both loved that!

My cute giggly girl:

Emma was so excited to feed all of her animals some goldfish, I thought this was super cute.

The kids favorite game is "lions". Here we are playing:

Eating hot chocolate for the first time!

Inside Picnic

The other day I really wasn't up for doing lunch so we picked something up on the way home and had a picnic in the living room. The kids thought they were in heaven! (don't worry I also fed them a little bowl of fruit so they had something healthy...)

Lately...

Abby loves glasses! She will wear these around the house for hours!!

The next two pictures are of our new favorite game: lions! Emma and I crawl around and roar and chase Abby around the house, they love it!

Abby has decided lately she loves my iPad so she finds it and carries it around... She doesn't quite know how it works yet though.

Cheesy smile!

My new glasses! It took me a while to adjust but I like them.

I've been reading the Tennis Shoes Among the Nephites series lately... Just finished the last one out so far... So excited the last one in the series is supposed to come out this year! Anyway, Abby evidently wants to be just like her mom!

Marshmallows

I was tutoring a girl in my ward today and when we got done this is what I found... No wonder they were so happy and giggling. They were picking out all of the marshmallows. Silly girls. Luckily I was in a good mood... And it just cracked me up.

I have to tell you though... The feeling of marshmallows stuck to your socks one of the most annoying feelings ever!!

Introducing: The Amazing Abby!

While in Washington Abby started sleeping through the night! I was so excited! First good nights of sleep in a row since I got pregnant with her, haha! I still didn't sleep through the night though... Too used to waking up for her :)
So we got back from Washington only to find out Abby had an ear infection... But not just any ear infection... A double ear infection!! That's three ear infections in 3 months.
But as soon as that started clearing up she's been right back go sleeping through the night, it's been grand! I love it :)
I also noticed today that she has a molar poking through! No wonder she's been pretty grumpy and needy! That's 8 teeth!
The last few weeks I've also noticed a dramatic increase in Abby's personality and understanding. She's just gotten so fun and good at interacting and communicating. I swear it happened overnight!
She says "that" and points at what she wants. She says mama, dada, bee (for binky), and she also knows how to bark like a dog... So cute!
Her favorite show is "Eebee baby: music and sound". Kind of a silly show for babies that we randomly found on Netflix. She gets SO excited when the music comes on, it's awesome!
She also LOVES to wear bows and hats!

New Years!

We didn't do much for new years...

We put the kids to bed...

Then watched a movie...

Abby woke up...

We drank sparkling cider at midnight...

Finished our movie...

And went to bed!
