Yeah so it was a little busy over the holidays... to say the least. Finley turned one on thanksgiving then Rich had oral surgery on Dec 19th. We finally got his sleep apnea surgery done. Which was very painful for him but will be well worth it over time.
Christmas came and went very quickly. Dex kind of got the idea this year but not really and we really aren't pushing the Santa thing too much.
Dex had his 3 birthday on the 29th and we had a full on party. I never really appreciated my birthday parties as a kid but now I do, it was a lot of work but he really had a good time.
So that was our holidays. I worked Christmas day so we did Christmas a little early which was fine. And really nice to be at the hospital when no doctors are there, things run a lot more smooth. Who would have thought!
In other news it doesn't look very good for school this year. Everyone that was accepted into the program has put down a deposit for school so they probably won't even be going into the alternate list. Which is lame but in good news my contract with Iasis is up on the 21st and I've already had an interview with the University of Utah for a job in their medical ICU. Which would be totally awesome not only because its a real hospital but they would also help me get another certification for school and I would most likely be guaranteed to get in school if I worked there. I go for my second interview on Thursday and I'm bring doughnuts to bribe the nurses into liking me. I hope it works.
Finley is on the cusp of walking. She still thinks its just a funny thing you do and then fall down but she is starting to do it more and more. And she doesn't stop eating. Her official first word is "more" she says it all the time and reaches out her hand for whatever you are eating. She is such a cutie pie but such a demanding girl at the same time. I can't believe the difference in her and Dex, he was way more independent than she is.
Dex is getting so tall, 39" at the last Dr. appointment which is still in the 95th percentile. He is becoming very social and just wants to hang out with his "buddies," is what he calls the neighbor kids, all the time. He is really starting to like books and loves to sleep with them when we goes to bed at night. We have started to go the library for story time and he is catching on the that. It's so fun to watch him grow up but its really hard to not want to just hold him back and make him my baby forever. This whole parenthood thing is tricky!
