Been awhile

Yeah so we've been doing a lot I guess since last time I blogged but I can't remember exactly what.  Work is going good with nothing really new to report there.  Kids are awesome.  Fin is so cute she really enjoys dressing up and always wants to be wearing her high tops or anything else she can find.  She really is a fashionista

We went to the zoo with Bequi and Anthony the other day which was so much fun.  Dex is getting old enough now where everything is so cool and he really can enjoy it.  I love seeing him react to different things and get excited over the little things, its the best thing in the world.

In other news we received our first toilet papering in our house.  I dont' really understand why but it was funny just the same.  Dex thought it was really cool. It was funny Rich went outside with the broom to get the TP down from the tree.  His idea was to throw the broom at the tree, well the broom ended up getting stuck in the tree.  It was really funny he just walked inside telling Dex don't tell mom.  Of course I hear this and go outside and look and just start laughing.  Gotta love boys!

Nothing new on the school front everyone that got in is still planning on going so they are not going into the alternate list at all so far.  I keep hoping though.  The lame thing is my job just hired a kid who will be going to Westminster for the CRNA program in August.  So yeah he is one of the people I have to kill to get in...I'm plotting as we speak.

More stuff

So I got the job at the U the only problem was they wanted to pay me less.  And not just a little less 10 dollars less... so unfortunately I had to say no but its all good I feel really good about my decision to stay at SLRMC.  I just found out too that another heart surgeon will be jumping on board so hopefully we will start to get more and more hearts. I hope.
Things are going really good right now.  Rich is really getting into playing music.  The guy is amazing he will just decide to pick up and instrument and almost immediately he is good at it.  He just started to play the drums and already he is good enough to the point that he and his friend played a show together!  He is so cute he really just loves to do music.  I hope our kids get some of that in their blood.
Dex is getting so big he loves to play with his "buddies" as he calls them, actually he calls them "my buddies."  Its fun to see him socialize and interact with other kids, it makes me smile.
Fin has turned into a fashionista.  She will find something she wants to wear and bring it over to you and grunt or whine until you put in on her.  Lately she has really likes wearing my ski hats and sometimes she'll bring my shoes to try on.  The funniest was my flip flops, she was so mad that they wouldn't stay on.  I went and bought her a couple of braclets and a necklace today at the store and she really had fun with those, putting the bracelets on then taking them off, it was so cute.
On the school front things look pretty much the same so I've got to start studying for the GRE again.  Dang it I was really hoping I would get into school so I wouldn't have to take that test again, it sucks.  But I'm stuck so its back to the books.  It will all be worth it I keep telling myself, once I'm done with school in a great new job...we'll see.

Catch Up

Yeah so it was a little busy over the holidays... to say the least.  Finley turned one on thanksgiving then Rich had oral surgery on Dec 19th.  We finally got his sleep apnea surgery done.  Which was very painful for him but will be well worth it over time.
Christmas came and went very quickly.  Dex kind of got the idea this year but not really and we really aren't pushing the Santa thing too much.
Dex had his 3 birthday on the 29th and we had a full on party.  I never really appreciated my birthday parties as a kid but now I do, it was a lot of work but he really had a good time.
So that was our holidays.  I worked Christmas day so we did Christmas a little early which was fine. And really nice to be at the hospital when no doctors are there, things run a lot more smooth.  Who would have thought!
In other news it doesn't look very good for school this year.  Everyone that was accepted into the program has put down a deposit for school so they probably won't even be going into the alternate list.  Which is lame but in good news my contract with Iasis is up on the 21st and I've already had an interview with the University of Utah for a job in their medical ICU.  Which would be totally awesome not only because its a real hospital but they would also help me get another certification for school and I would most likely be guaranteed to get in school if I worked there.  I go for my second interview on Thursday and I'm bring doughnuts to bribe the nurses into liking me.  I hope it works.
Finley is on the cusp of walking.  She still thinks its just a funny thing you do and then fall down but she is starting to do it more and more.  And she doesn't stop eating.  Her official first word is "more"  she says it all the time and reaches out her hand for whatever you are eating.  She is such a cutie pie but such a demanding girl at the same time.  I can't believe the difference in her and Dex, he was way more independent than she is.
Dex is getting so tall, 39" at the last Dr. appointment which is still in the 95th percentile.  He is becoming very social and just wants to hang out with his "buddies," is what he calls the neighbor kids, all the time.  He is really starting to like books and loves to sleep with them when we goes to bed at night.  We have started to go the library for story time and he is catching on the that.  It's so fun to watch him grow up but its really hard to not want to just hold him back and make him my baby forever.  This whole parenthood thing is tricky!

School

So I found out that I'm an alternate for school in fact I'm #10 on the list.  What does that mean?  It means if 10 people decide that they don't want to go to Westminster then I get to.  Sounds highly unlikely but the admission's guy, Andrew, told me they went through 20 alternates last year so I have a pretty good shot.  We'll know more come January/February because that is when other schools are letting people know if they got in.  So now all we can do is keep our fingers crossed and keep trying to bribe the admissions people. ha!

Christmas surprise

I've wanted Christmas lights on on our house since we moved in but for one reason or another it just never happened.  Well the other night I came home to this.

Rich found out our neighbor use to hang lights professionally so he came over and helped Rich put some lights up!  Best Christmas present ever!

Halloween

Halloween was fun this year we took the kids to the mall first which was great because finally started to understand the whole trick or treat thing.  then we did our neighborhood.  the kids got lots of candy and had a great time.  plus it was so cute to see them all dressed up.
